what a shame pete margolis had to try and scam BD, refusing to pay for his time in interviews for his significant part in this story- all ending with a breakdown and rants of threats to sue- demanding his private holding to ad to your get fat documentary- no way to get what you wanted fellas! and its a small world.
As a huge RR fan since l was 16 l m just so pleased someone s made a documentary of him . never met him unfortunately but was lucky enuf to see him with Ozzy in Cardiff 1981 , from what l remember o lot of my older friends followed the tour just to see Rhoads he made a massive impact on them , everyone was close to tears when he was killed , my wife thinks he sthe prettiest guy she s ever seen lol thanks for the doco
Does anyone know when this is suppossed to come out, seems like there is little to no information about it, i have been waiting forever... please hit me up if you know mayhem_rob@yahoo.com
hey vgraham44, are you the person that went up to Randy and asked him how to play the solo to Goodbye to Romance, cuz in rudy's book, Off the Rails, he talks about that. Just Wondering.
What amazes me is that their is supposed to be all this great stuff never before seen by the outside world on Randy. Kevin Dubrow had all these great recordings and film never before seen. all this shit supposed to have been released and thats the last its heard about. iam starting to think that everything on and about rhoads HAS been released. i pray that iam wrong.
@putte2006 Bob's never afraid to voice the truth, and his heart is always in the right place regarding Randy. . my sympathies to Delores for having to deal with all this legal bullshit.
met Randy Rhoads & rudy sarzo during their first tour when they toured with motorhead @ the palladium on 14th st.NY. Ozzy wasn't outside with us,but i certainly talked Rudys ear off. Him & Randy were so nice.i was kidding when iasked him for aguitar lesson,he just laughed and sald, yeah right.
Tel me bout it. At the start of this clip he say they are basically done so what is the issue. I don't reckon it'll ever see the light of day because this guy is just a blowfish dreamer! i hope I'm wrong because Randy deserves to have his story told in detail so that he can receive the kudos he deserves from a wider audience of listeners and players rather than just a small enlightened aging group of 80's guitar metal appreciators like me.
@riffmeister76 Exactly man. Im with you 100%. You made a good point with Dee as well. It would be the best to give her back the the tribute to Randy that she so obviously deserves. It better come out this year or Im just going to forget about it. I did see the preview though and it looks really good.
What amazes me 'bout Rhoads was the humility. It seems he had no idea he was changing the face of Metal guitar. He was the first studied guitarist in metal. He brought a lot of inventivness and intellect to heavy rock rather than rehashing tired, pentatonic licks. It's a shame he didn't live long enough to realize how much he transcended music. Truly sad.
I've only recenty discoverd this guy's talent.. His music literally gives me goose bumps. Talent suc as randy rhoads' is hard enough to come by. And he is taken away from us. it's really not fair. :/
This guy had such a short life and left so much beauty in it, can imagine if he was still with us? I only came to know his music when I was around 20 but I remember not being able to put down the album Tribute and listening to it every day. His solos were so beautiful and honest. I also love the picture of Ozzy holding him by the leg in the cover, he looked really happy, like a child almost. This is so sad.
What a great comment. I spent some time with both Kelle and Delores Rhoads this week. Their whole family are so wonderful. Kelle even took me into the room that Randy taught in. I will be post the Musonia School Tour hopefully this weekend.
I don't mean to highjack this thread but I have to say that it gives me a very good feeling to know that his mother understands what Randy means to us and I say this because it's normally the kids who admire their parents. I think she knows well how much he means to us. His music was not just about guitar technics (althought he kicked ass), but the beauty of it. A lot of guitar players play well, but few communicate as if they are singing with lyrics. Randy did it.
I told Mrs. Rhoads last week that "we see her family as Rock and Roll Royalty...And if Ozzy is the Prince of Darkness, you (Mrs. Rhoads) are the Queen of the light.

i was lucky enough to see Randy and Ozzy play their first gig together in Scotland in 1980....the curtains opened with loads of smoke ....
they played the whole of "Blizzard"...a couple of Sab numbers
and then came back and played "Crazy Train" and "i dont Know" again....
there was this little skinny guy ....with a heart like a lion .....Ozzy was in tears .....we were cheering
...a legend was born .......that was the first gig i'd ever been too.......
