They actually do, that's why they're that expensive. No Muscle or Import car gets up to German car safety... Problem is, HOW you impact. If you go 50 kph and slam your head on the dashboard, you CAN die, but if you're lucky, you can survive an impact with 90 MPH with another car, or a 90 MPH Flipover without a scratch (as i did in a Volkswagen MK II LOL)

At the side crash test, you can see the windows of the doors shattering. That means that some pieces of glass could fly in your face, despite the side airbags. But OK, you would have to crash with an SUV to have the windows impacted from the side at all.
