  • I just looked at a couple of these while my sister was buying na iMac, $599, $799 and $999, the $999 had inferior specs compared to the $799 it made little sense. I game a lot so I think I will stick to PC, but I want to get to use Mac OS X sometimes, Lion has lots of nice features.

Also that comment about the professional world switching to Macs, I haven't seen it happen, PCs are still so widely used today.

  • Love it how mac users go crazy when their £2000 mac can just about keep up with a £500 computer

  • @Ed5557

Dude your an idiot. The purpose of this video is to show that a computer thats nearly as small as my hand can play this game. It honestly doesn't matter if it's a pc or mac dick head. Computers are computers, they all have similar parts and run in similar ways, I use all operating systems and i have built two custom rigs now, so honestly... Calling me a mac user makes you sound stupid when I use all kinds of computers.

  • @Ed5557 The Mac he used in this video costs about £500, douche.

  • @Ed5557 Mac Mini costs less than £700. That's for the high spec mac mini.

  • shitty video quality...probably on lowest settings...lol

  • Take that, Windows.

  • @TheBritishDood umm, he's playing it on a duel boot of windows, so he had to BUY a version of windows to play it. derp

  • Geez, did you record this with a RAZR, this video looks like shit.

  • Actually, now that they allow different operating systems on Mac's, I'm considering buying one. Before, I thought they were a total piece of shit because you couldn't do much on them except office work & vid editing (With IMovie, which fails).

  • @Teh1337Narb They've "allowed" other OS's since 2005, when they switched to Intel...

  • @BarricadeSlade I remember the PowerPC Macs, they were actually good and usually ahead of the x86 platform in performance, I've used an G4 Cube and MacBook (that looked like an apple), I think the MacBook had OS 8 and OS X was just surfacing with the G4 (and the OS looked BUTT ugly).

  • If it can run on Mac Mini, it can run on the MacBook :D

  • I like mac and I play on PS3.

  • whats the game?

  • i'd like to see that game running at a new mac pro with 6 or 12 cores and ati 5870,installed at ssd. :D

  • lol..... pretty much every computer can run the first level on decent settings without lag.

  • i can tell this is fake because it's working.

  • will the new mac minis have better graphics than this?

  • @poooopnat yeah, nvidia geforce 320M

  • @xXtortionXx For real Dude?

  • ''windows 7 works great on macs'' why not just get a fkin windows computer?

  • @mrwhippy123 'cause mac is better, but some programs and games will need windows. Plus, macbooks and macbooks pro are like 5 times better in everything than any PC notebook in the market.

For example, normal PC notebook's batteries can handle like 3 or 4 hours max.

But a mac can be 10 Hours working! I mean... thats like A LOT MORE. :)

  • Crysis.......can run........on mac mini. HOLY FUCKING SHIT IMAGINE IT ON A MACBOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!! (with a mouse plugged in of course)

  • is this stock or did you put in a new graphic card....?? i wanna know because i really wanna get one of these..

  • I am a IT tech and work mainly on Windows based PCs. I use Linux for most of my computing. I also Mac and a computer I built myself. To the argument "which is better", get over it. It's like asking what kind of wrench is best to use. There are some things that will be different depending on the OS you are using and thats where the differences really lie. Apple makes great hardware that doesn't mean you can't build your own better & cheaper. To buy one off the shelf will cost you about the same.

  • @rtechguy

    Great statement.

  • All of you claiming that macs are for people who don't want to understand pc's have it wrong. I switched over cuz I found it a waste of time to be trying to fix and manage my pc to keep it running optimally. Macs aren't like that. For most users (not hardcore gamers - I used to be one) macs are adequate and fast machines. For those occasional games, I can use bootcamp and play casually :)

  • mac has it rite they nealy have the same shit in them like my hdd and ram are hitachi my bros accer had samsung hdd and 1 2gb ram was kingston and the other 1 gb ram was hitachi he never changed it it came with 3 gig of ram so acer shit

  • except macs are far better built, use better components, have better software, etc...

  • ?!?!? better components, DUDE!! OMFG, a custom pc is far better and can run mac os x... it can do so much better, your're an apple fanboy, and I used to be just like you, till I stopped being ignorant and researched properly and throughly, then I was sony ps3 fanboy, but now i'm not a fanboy, I go by facts.. In terms of gaming, PC>mac ( dependant)>ps3>360>wii.

Dude dont be a stupid fanboy.

  • hahahaha and you say in terms of gaming pc-mac thats wrong since you can run windows on a mac you can play any game you want macs are pcs pc means personal computer not a computer running windows the mac pro itself with the right video card can run any game flawlessly and the base macbook pros can run crysis your just ignorant FACT

  • And I can pirate mac os x onto a pc and call it a mac. For your info, the mac pro does not have 16 cores. Or I could get the cell brodband with 32 SPES and use the other extra cpu port for intle i7 or quad core.

I've run bootcamp on mac and its windows xp, i'd have to pirate 7 to run it on mac and power iso or daemon tools don't work on the mac so mounting an ISO is pretty annoying unless you bulid the script yourself via- oh wait you can't, doesn't run .bat or exe. I'm not an pc fanboy.

  • @Avataryoutuification and obviously it doesn't run bat or exe its a whole different operating system

  • I glanced over your argument. a PC is going to rip apart a mac any day on gaming. If your looking for something easy to use and secure go for a mac, they are good for people new to computers. But if your good with computers buy a PC. As for quailty wise, I hate to break it to you but since Macs switched to Intel they are made with the same parts, and most of your graphic cards you use are designed for windows but had to be redesigned for macs. So PCs do not have "cheap" parts.

  • True, but tbh I use windows and when I used mac It was confusing.

  • Mac - Easy to use, great for people who do not understand computers that well and do not wish to.

Cons: Overpriced hardware, your mostly paying for the brand not the stuff inside of it.

PC - Customization options, Easy to upgrade, Low Price, High Performance. Building your own will save you hundreds of dollars or Buy from well known brands like HP, Sony, etc.

Cons: Viruses. (Only if you download illegal content or have a porn surfing addiction.)

  • Use an condom inbetween erthernet port and cable to stop viruses.

  • yer when you say pc is easy to upgrade thats a load of shit its not installing the hardware it the fucking drivers and the software configratoin some reason mac osx does that for you and by the way people that think you need a microsoft windows to run games you wrong mac user can use crossover to run games and by the way hp and sony are shit thats why hp owns compaq and sony just overpriced

  • Ohhh right but Mac isn't overpriced is it? Idiot

  • mac mini for 599 isnt that bad of a price considering the hardware and everything it can do

  • i agree with you a lot, but from personal experience my problem with PC is that they get slow on there own as well as the viruses, ive encountered through all 5 windows computer ive owned in my life time problems with registry and what not, its always been unstable for me, and its why mac is a breath of fresh air. Besides being aesthetically pleasing it is overpriced but the experience is worth it. I browse, listen to music, youtube, create flash and photoshop projects with no problem.

  • But great way to put the pros and cons down while being level headed though. U dont see that a lot online, and i hope you dont take my argument as me trying to prove you wrong. :)

  • No poshlover12, no... Omg, duh!

  • I don't want to get into a troll war, but your're being silly. Yes, I was once like you, very much, saying " mac blah blah" because I thought pc can't be custom built etc. But it turns out after I got bored nad researched its better, also.. if your're an pirate, lots better :D

  • yes thats what i tried to say

  • @macindrew when you say far better built, any one can build a state of the art computer and run whatever they wish. Doesn't have to be Mac based. I think you have your head screwed on backwards because PC's have actually done a good job competing with MAC. Stop posting lies as clearly you are a fraud.

  • This isn't a Mac, Yes he is using a Mac Hardware, but I can't install Linux on a Windows PC and call it Windows, It will be Linux. Also, PC's are better since you can upgrade them without buying a whole new one for $1000. Hell, i can build a PC better than most $600 PCs for $300, and $500 for most $1200 macs.

  • he isnt saying in mac osx he is saying a mac like saying a compaqu presario, or something. He insnt saying "crysis in mac osx" if I instal linux on my computer I dont say "windows" i say "pc" and mac doesnt mean OS and pc doesnt mean windows.

  • mac are easy to upgrade in there instraction they show you how to do it in a laptop to remove the ram And the hdd you take the battery out and undo 4 screws and there you can pull the hdd and the ram

  • Crysis running on integrated graphics....WOW.

  • hey how do u install windows 7 drivers??

  • They are on the mac os x disk your computer came with.

Watch an instructional video on how to do it.

  • @xXtortionXx i know that but at first it would say x64 is not supported but i saw another video on how to do it it works great now :D

  • bootcamp does all that for you.

  • @Macinndrew its complicated if ur using 64 bit windows 7

  • a mac mini runs 64 bit win 7 without any hassle.

  • @Macinndrew yes i know im currently running it u just have to go through a little command prompt code to use the drivers on the OSX install disk

  • Ok, dude you act like you know fucking everything about this video, first off this game was set to low draw distance so it wont take up all my V-ram. This video is not fake, and it is not played on another PC.

If you want to argue its not going to get you anywhere, becuase i know what is on my video... and you don't.

  • @xXtortionXx

That's fine. My Alienware laptop has the same GPU you're running when not in SLI. Tell me your settings and I'll see if I can duplicate it. Then, I'll run FRAPS and post a video, or record the laptop directly. If my laptop running a quadcore with the same GPU can't accomplish your results, then we all know you're full of it. If it runs ok, then I'll remove my comment.

  • but you are forgetting this is running on Apple engineered hardware, it's not a junky alienware laptop, it's a mac mini.

  • Ha, stupid troll. I own both PC and apple products. I prefer OS X to windows, but everyone knows gaming is Apple's weakness. If you read my whole comment, I stated that I OWN A MBP. Not only that, I just bought a Mini a week ago. I'll post a video to shut Macinndew's nancy ass up.

  • Yes, but that is because of the early days, the Mac was seen as a "toy" because it was "graphical"... so John Sculley put the brakes on game developers... but now PCs are seen as a "toy"... isn't it interesting how the professional world has switched to Macs, and now the PC is just used for games.

    Silly world...

  • @Macinndrew HAHAHAHHAHAHA no. I don't see clouds running xserv, I don't see pixar using macs to render, I don't see wallstreet using Apple computers. Stop talking out your ass you useless fuck.

  • @Macinndrew I only use My Mac for music and photography, my PC is something where i can mod up, accessorise- all for the purpose of gaming basically.

I use a Mac Mini, and ive got a Custom PC- I think this comment is totally legit.

  • @GameVydeos actually is not a weakness, game with a i5 imac or a 2X quad core mac pro, and you will be more than amazed with the graphics and performance...

  • okay, what the fuck is with the whole troll calling?

  • stupid iSheap make me lol

there is really no difference in the hardware between mac and pc. i can get the same results with my emachines.

  • but Macs are always faster compared to a same spec PC... you are overlooking that and the simple fact Macs are a better value for the money.

  • Unless you build a custom pc, cheaper and more powerfull, faster and etc.

  • except the pc world doesn't give you that option... everything is poorly made when you go over to pc's, that's why they've never been able to compete...

try and build a 27" version of this for less than $1699... good luck!

    apple. com /imac/

pc's just can't compete with macs when you think about it... but thanks for trying...

  • kk, done and done. So simple, they areleady have similar computers to imac, which are just, if not better and cheaper. My friend has a fjusity one i think, its just like IMAC, and bigger, and cost him £346, and has better specs, 3.4GHZ quad core, 6.2 gb of ddr 3, 260 gb hdd + 10gb ssd for backup and OS, bluray slimline drive, Nvidia 9800gt, although it is all fan cooled but isn't that nosiy. It's 28" screen, HD 1080p, he told me it goes higher, and he clocked the core to 3.9 GHZ with no probs..

  • @Avataryoutuification not done and not done that fjusity you compared it too though it has a 28" screen it doesnt mean its bettter than the imac 27" screen you say that the screen is 28" 1080p hd well the imacs screen can achieve a 2560-by-1440 resolution which is more than 1080p hd that 28 inch monitor has a 1920 by 1080 resolution which is lower than the imacs and the imac has better build quality better specs more hardrive space more ram and a better video card

  • @Avataryoutuification and to add on to my previous point compared to that shit pc you just mentioned The imac has a 16:9 display with ips technology ips displays cost alot of money most ips displays out there cost more than the imac itself and considering its an all in one its a great bargain and don't get me wrong im no apple fanboy so far there's no other all in one compared to the latest imac you cant find one with the same screen and if you do it will cost you alot more because of the ips

  • I said stop pulling shit out of your arse and being an fanboy, end of. Don't try defending something because you spent so much on it, I have an macbook pro and mini mac, I also have a crappy pc with readon 2400 hd, and a good pc with readon 5789 HD pro and Intle 7 overclocked @ 5ghz.

  • i aint pulling shit out of my ass im a full time windows user i don't even have a mac yet im planning to buy one though and i know that macs have better resale value that overclocked 5ghz machine you have which i think is bullshit wont be worth the shit that comes out of your mouth in a few years so im not a fanboy at all i just hate people who route for windows like its great because its not most of windows users don't have i7s or a bunch of ram face it windows is a piece of shit

  • And i'm currently using my mac

  • and if you really had a macbook pro you wouldnt be defending pcs custom pcs wtf man if that shit breaks your gonna have to call up different companys replace the parts and lol your i7 overclocked cant ever go up against something like a mac pro with 16 cores im a windows user and i dont like windows at all hence why im switching but i hate people like you talking bulllllshit about macs being overpriced macs are not overpriced the build quality is as near as perfect

  • Ummm... lol, I would If i was a gamer, a hardcore gamer, I want to play with my friends, without boot camp on windows xp.

Dude you contradict yourself so much, I'm not gunna even talk to you, you don't know any facts, 16 cores? Yeah I can get same size priced pc better than mac pro clocked atr 56 GHZ. £1435 and water cooled with a nice resiver, windows 7, windows xp, linux and mac os x. If you'd be a pirate, you would go for pc.

  • 56 ghz? :@ holy shit

  • Thank you :D

  • @macindrew you don't know shit about computers. I purchased a high end HP and that has lasted me about 3 years and running no problems. Everything is poorly made? Mine was assembled in China and I got what I paid for which is a decent system. Also sorry to diassapoint you but PC's are more widely used vs. Macs when it comes to telecom work and office work. Haven't seen much of the MAC in a professional environment and this is coming from someone who has worked in office environments.

  • @xXtortionXx SHUT DOWN!!!!!!!

  • @xXtortionXx hows that video coming? lol

  • Shaders on medium, water on low, or medium. shadows are on low, resolution is set to 1280 x 960.

Physics are on high. that is all i really remember what i had it set to, i only had the Free copy of windows 7. (which is expired for me) but i do not get 30 frams, it looks like i am getting 15fps to 20 or 19.

And if you set the shaders to low, it runs even faster.

  • I got crysis running on an acer aspire one 8.9 inch it wasn't playable but it worked and this is better so i think it would work

  • man, even medium settings look good for crysis. Mac mini can run medium and beyond!! New iMac with 4850ATI...Dam!

  • Are you running this through a virtual PC or something similar? or you're booting straight to windows with the mac mini?

  • hey! can u get this on the macbook??

  • anyone can run this game as long as their computer is post 2007 if its on low shaders.

  • Watch the video in the responses, to see it running at its highest on this computer!!

  • wow what the... i just bought the MAC mini a while ago...

  • you know what im gonna get a mac mini now this video finally convinced me great video i subbed

  • No more spamming my video with pointless PC fan boy/Mac fan boy crap.

  • Dude, shut the hell up and get a life and stop arguing about computers over the internet, just stick to what you like and not bag on the other operating systems out there, jesus.

  • that is not annoying to me anymore, ure just a gay fag pc dipshit who doesn't know what he is talking about. People who own macs only use windows to play games, as far as they are concerned pc are shit at the other things. Windows is only good for gaming, it is shit(when compare to OSX) at the rest. I am not a mac user, i am using a pc so i know well about what im talking about.

  • not really i make maps with my pc i do my homework (ms office) so you're wrong as a pc user and im using windows 7

  • its a portable desktop that doesnt take too much space

  • try playin it with shaders and shadows on high!

  • Man, u gotta turn the water up to high. Sure you loose some performance, but if you are playing crysis, high water is a must. I suggest lowering textures and increasing water :)

  • oh cmon'... Whenever I'm changing the settings for any PC game i ALWAYS Keep high textures as the main priority

  • is this on bootcamp?

  • yeah because hes running windows 7

  • lab32 : of course it'll run!

  • my macbook 2.4ghz cant even play call of duty on 1024x768 and a mac mini can play crysis on high medium specs? What's your resolution?

  • 1024x768

  • How well does your mac mini run I'm thinking about buying 799$ 2.53ghz 4g model is it worth it?

    Thanks

  • if it's a mac, and it comes with that cpu and 4gb of ram, I guess it's worth it.

however, you can get a PC about 9 times faster for less money.

  • It also can run in 1440x900

  • the crytech graphics engine helps it run better, i have cod 4 and the graphics are worse but crysis runs better and looks better

  • how many FPS ??

  • 19-50fps (the settings were not fully tweaked to look their best)

  • I cant tell if the graphics are terrible or its just the camera.

  • More so of the camera

  • Hey man do you think you could run Left 4 Dead on that? I'm thinking of upgrading my 2nd-Gen mini (GMA-950) to a newer one and I love that game on the PC!

  • yea, any newer Macs with the 9400-9600 can run even Crysis, which is the most power hungry game around (i think). Your going to want at least 2.26ghz tho.

Check out my videos for gaming on a Macbook Unibody 2009 model.

  • Yeees!! You can absolutley play L4D on a new Mac mini, on very high settings too! :)

  • Really? On a Mac Mini? That'll be awesome!

  • It's not that surprising. The 9400M is a great chip

  • Can u make a demo of GTA IV?

  • hi,

my question is: what about the heat?? i maby get the 2.26 version but i m afraid that i get to hot!

whats the tempreture when you play the game like this??

    (sorry for my bad english)

  • u mean the temperature of the computer when u play something very energy using?

  • yeah.

  • I have the 2.26ghz version and when playing Crysis it actually doesnt get hot at all. Unlike Prototype or BIOSHOCK(gets REALLY HOT)

u should get it, and if ur afraid of overheating get an external fan for ur laptop

  • i have one question if i get one of these can i use it with my shitty moniter or....do i have to go buy a new one (and if i have to get a new one does it have to be mac monitor or any?)

  • I've heard that there are dvi-mini to VGA adaptors that you could buy from the apple store. If you need a good flatscreen monitor that doesnt cost $800 I'd recommend that you buy a $200 lcd screen from LG. The usefulness of a mac really depends on what you want to use it for. If you're a hardcore gamer then you should stick with a pc. If you're an artist then I'd recommend the mac.

  • very nice i am looking at getting the same spec mini how does the speed feel on this? also many users would prefer some quad core config pc but you justt dont get apple quality and the size of this

  • The speed is amazing.. it blazes across the internet from page to page from seconds to milliseconds!

  • I get a Macbook Pro 13" 2,26 GHz. How well can i run it?

  • medium to high settings.. but your going to want to tweak with the settings.. like in this video.. i didnt tweak the settings to make it look as best as i possibly could =X

  • Cool, thx

  • i'm planning on getting the 120gb model with the 2.0ghz processor but getting 2gb ram with it. will it run well on that?

  • No it wont.. maybe on the lowest LOWEST settings..

  • wow, i always thought that mac minis were the weakest among the mac family

  • Did you buy windows 7 or was it found somewhere? I'm just interested as I'm considering doing the same thing with mine.

  • Yeah ill give you that (that its hella small).

  • i wonder if it can run on a macbook air

  • dude its a mini computer and it can play on medium to high settings..

  • I believe you don't understand that Crysis is running on a mac mini...

  • lol its nice, and not expected for such a small pc

  • So do you like Windows 7

  • yes

  • yeah it runs perfect!

  • did it run well?

  • I don't really get it. Is this game running on OSX itself, or on Windows in Bootcamp on OSX?

Sorry for my confusing. I'm really intrested in buying a Mac, so I'm new to this stuff :)

  • bootcamp...

  • Bootcamp windows 7

  • is it possible to use dx10 on a mac ?? i wanna buy the mini 2

    greetz

  • YES

  • if windows is on it and it has a dx 10 card in it yes . also have to be a intel mac .

  • Comment removed

  • ihope to god you were kidding when you said that..

  • dude dats like awsome, do u think it can play on my macbook pro at this specs

    4gb RAM

    250GB hard drive

    nvidia 9400m

    2.5GHZ

  • yes

  • Ya. It's like this Macmini. just we a higer processer, prettymuch.

  • im getting the macbook pro with those specs and its 15 inch they dont have 9600gt in the australian version that im getting

  • on the bare minimum specs..

  • Why doesn't Apple advertise this!!??

If they advertised that their macbook pro can play games (even Crysis!), their sales would soar!! Wow, figured out what i'm taking to college in the fall =D

  • Don't get your undies in a bundle, most PC's in this price range preform Crysis better than this.

Not a mac hater in the least I own em, pretty decent. But you might as well get a computer that can preform better and play more games, if that's what your looking for.

However if your like me and do a lot of video editing Macs have the best software for that. which is the only reason I use mine.

  • Look at my channel and view my video =] I have a tower that cost me half the price of the macbook 15" pro that I'm looking at - it plays crysis on a mix of high and very high.

I am getting a mac for the same reason that you have one, I would like to be able to do some light gaming as well. No crysis, mostly cod and css.

  • well im sorry to inform you idiots that mac's cannot play css b/c for one you cannot get steam on a mac and if you try to use a vac scramble... well you cant on mac... And about crysis, this was a horrible demonstration of macs attempts to run a game even decently my PC runs crysis at 110 fps easy. 100% mac hater. PS: you cant play cod4-5 either bitches

  • I run all of those games that you just mentioned. The reason I have a mac is because I value the multimedia software that comes on it. My main purpose is not gaming. I don't hate PC, so don't call me an idiot based on a youtube comment. Doing so is quite "idiotic" =]

  • lmao same. found out they could run it about 3 days ago. i was gona get one anyway but that is a HUGE plus

  • I would you consider that the graphics were reasonably good for the mini?

  • ya there pretty good!

  • I'm skeptical about your Mac running Crysis @ 'mostly high settings.' Just because you have a Mac sitting in front of the monitor doesn't prove anything. If you were a little more thorough with the video then I might believe you.

I'd like to believe your Mac is running Crysis because it gives me hope that my MacBook will do the same. :)

  • but the white light on the frot of it was on the whole time that means its in use if it was flashing then it would not in use

  • For all we know, he could've just left the Mac on and have his monitor connect to another PC. Think about that...

  • you don't know about macs but when that light is on in the front the hd is under use and when it stays on its under heavy use

  • lol, trust me!! i dont own a single pc in my house, this is the new mac mini with the 9400m graphics, check out my unboxing and setup of this computer, this IS NOT fake

  • Mac's are technically PC's aren't they? :P

Would you mind telling us what the average FPS was?
