I don't know why. I used tabs to start off with and they really helped me to learn things by ear. I heard how the tab sounded when played, then used those sounds to make my own breaks.
Now I've played on TV 3 times! Thank God for the man who invented tabs!
HA! You caught me - I always make that mistake. My way of avoiding copyright restrictions I guess. THANKS for the pointer to Hangman -- I forgot about that one. Sounds pretty simple -- no promises now, but if I work it out I'll post it..
HA! you said "led zeppelins your DAY is gonna come".. Just kidding, been playing that on guitar for a while, never heard it done on a banjo, you did very well!! Loved the banjo work on "hangman" can you post that one?
I heard my uncle has one that he bought on a whim and doesn't use anymore, I might steal that one. I'm really the only musical person in my family anyway.
I thought it was cool. I'd suggest you move the talking to the end though. give us the goods in the first 30 seconds - some of us are quicker than you think !
niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice ivebeen playing guitar for a while now and well i think im pretty good, but one time i picked up a banjo lol and i was loooost d really like to learn to play this beautiful instrument ^^and nice job too! maybe ill go try this some day
My advice: use it to play the songs you already love. Lots of great songs from genres other than bluegrass translate well to scruggs style. Don't forget that Led put another bluegrass instrument (the mando) to excellent use.
my friend plays banjo. he got it electrified the other day...pretty sweet.

"im use to tabs" you're better off learning simpler songs by ear than relying only on tabs.

I've been thinking about buying a banjo.

Ask him for it. Or better, get him to teach you. The lessons are worth more than the banjo.

Yeah, that's a good idea for next time, thanks

What should we expect for next time?

What would you prefer: I've just seen a face, Wish you were here, or Personal Jesus?

Wish You Were Here would be nice.
