How can u be convinced that a foreign thought has the ability to judge fairly another language-& culture-based country? How can an adult scold another country's media transparency without questioning their own, let alone some Chinese words are obviously translated wrongly or omitted by BBC?

The point here is that the Dictatorship in China only benefits the Chinese Communist Central Government not the freedom of opinion of the people of China. If the Chinese Communist Government censors all information in the Internet and in the media related to any subject that put the government in the spot, it is because the people of China is not free to access any information and even less free to voice opposition views against the government .

I agree that the U.S. has an absolute freedom, that even allow school children to have & use firearms to shoot & kill anybody in the school or at home. Offensive articles that could offend other race & religions are also allowed to publish & circulate. Anyone can do anything he or she likes, like beating up someone on the street. No wonder there are so many crimes & community issues in the U.S. in recent years. FREEDOM without CONTROL will become DEMON-CRAZY & not DEMOCRACY!

Are you trying to tell me that thanks to the Chinese Communist dictatorship there is no such thing in China as people "beating up someone on the street" ? In the West, the Control of nihilism (which is different from freedom, sad you dont seem to grasp the difference) is guaranteed by the law, but the law is done by the Legislators who are directly elected by the people. Not quite like in the Chinese dictatorship.

A Nation is like a Big Family. The Ruler or the Governing Party is the Parents. If the parents are not strict & look after their children well, the children will become BAD & be influenced by some undesirable elements around. For good GOVERNANCE or MANAGEMENT of a Nation or any organization, there should be RULEs & REGULATION for order & discipline. Look at U.S. the lack of discipline & proper control has caused the present GLOBAL recession. SAD!

Ah really? But why the concept of "big family" is incompatible with the concept of free elections. Is it because with free elections the Chinese Communist government can lose the military and political power? Since the Chinese Communist governments plan is to stay in power forever no matter what, they sell to the Chinese people the idea that free election is incompatible with the filial piety (or the "big family" as you say).

As I have explained earlier, I don't care what type of government China is having now, whether Communist or Not, is NOT THAT IMPORTANT. The important thing is the REAL RESULTs it has produced, such as the great PROGRESS in economy, technology, education & national defence. The great improvement in the Living Standard of its people. It's different from the past as being poor & defenseless against foreign invasion. People can now go in & out freely. More crimes is the result of loose freedom.

You look at Taiwan! They have FULL FREEDOM even to be able to fight with each other in Parliament and cause chaos. This is disorder & indiscipline. It is very disgraceful, as it is the result of Demon-crazy that produces ineffective or BAD government. There would not be any progress for such a society, like in the U.S. where school boys can use guns to shoot at each other. An unsafe place to live.

Say whatever you like, China today has obviously produced very outstanding results in Nation Building. Again, remember that the key word is "openness". It is openness that saved China from an economical disaster had China continued in the Maoism path of isolationism. It is the Western world that shed a light in the Chinese economy. When you can hide the truth via censorship and repression you cannot reach the truth and even the Chinese Communist Central Government can look good in the picture. Coledanosp, "Openness" & "Freedom" must be exercised at the right time, the right place, to the right people & at the right situation, otherwise it would produce adverse results. Look at Taiwan, a typical example of "100% Freedom". There are NO discipline, rules & regulation in Parliament meetings. People are FREE to fight each other like they are in the markets, without being expelled or arrested. Is Taiwan progressing well & peaceful in these days? President Ma like to learn from Singapore.

People whose selfish interests are affected by the strict & discipline rules that any government set, will definitely complain a lot about "No FREEDOM & etc." You must understand that the interests of the people are of utmost importance. By allowing people the freedom to have firearms will enhance more crimes & the police could be helpless. Countries with loose governance usually are problematic & chaotic. The one who has committed the crime will never accept that the verdict is fair.

As China has a very large population in a vast land, it is very difficult to govern. Nothing is perfect & of course there are some unscrupulous elements in the administration & the general public. No, harmony refers to the ability to express thoughts without having to be beaten or imprisoned when those thoughts do not please the government in power. Understanding can only be reached via an open dialogue between opposing parties. Not with censorship and repression.

Instead of pretending boastfully that you know what the 1.4 billion Chinese people think or want, what dont you let them express their political views freely without fear of repression and intimidation? Only through free elections with a multi-political party system we can determine what the people really think and want. Without free elections and without a multi-political party system, you can only ascertain the will of the Chinese Communist Dictatorship, not the will of the Chinese people.
