Do you think there was a particular point in SB IV where the game turned, or just a gradual overall butt whipping by the Chiefs.
In the games first drive, Vikings John Beasly dropped a sure first down pass at the Chiefs 25. Then there where a host of mistakes through out the game......taking nothing away from the Chiefs, but just arguing from the point of view of a frustrated , diehard Vikings fan .
@6400az the chiefs dee was tough, in one series kapp completed 3 passes and gained... 8 yards...so you might say that set the tempo...that was on minnys second series, he completed 3 passes, one to brown, for 1 yard, one to osborn, for 1 yard, and one to henderson for 6yards...very telling series, the chiefs had seen much more potent offense going up against namath, snell, maynard, sauer, lamonica, biletnikoff, wells, dixon, smith, rtc, etc...
There where so many, many mistakes on the Vikings part though, then again the Chiefs certainly had something to do with it. The Henderson catch and fumble at midfield was big , as was the the Beasly dropped 1st down pass at the 25. In one strecth, Mcbee( not one of his better games) dropped a sure int. in the endzone wich led to a Chief field goal.On the ensuing K.O West fumbles, wich led to th 65 toss power trap td. In less than 1 min. KC. had 10 points!
12/20/10: I wrote this song to the tune of "Kansas City" during the game. A popular group in KC by the name of the Fab Four (Yes, they had the name before the Beatles used it) backed me on the session. The members were Alex Love, Bob Theen, Mike Myers, and Jeff Mann. We recorded it in Cavern Recording Studio, sent it to Nashville to have the records pressed, and had it on radio stations within a week. I was so rushed we put the same song on both sides of the 45rpm. ......Bill Roberts
@billrobertsKC: Wow bill it is an honor. I was 7 when they won the SB and I ran out and bought this 45. I wore it out!!! I memorized every word so I could sing along. I ended up taking it to school and lost it. Regardless this song will always have a special place in my heart. Thanks for writing it!
@homeslicechief Hi Ray, It's hard to believe that anyone could have memorized all the words in my song but leave it to a 7 year old. I certainly think it is deserving of a new record and I happen to have a few left. Send me your full name and verify the address you sent and I will send you a new one. Thanks for making my day. ....Bill
