4:18 to skip the inane rambling. I'm an extremely patient person but she wasn't going anywhere with her back and fourth. So skip to 4:18 to get to the point. Sorry to offend anyone.
This documentary is as shocking as the Manson Family Murderer s The most shocking thing of it all is the fact that the Justice System of Canada could have ignored the facts. The person that did this documentary did an amazing job. Most of all the strenght of Mr and Mrs Bagby will chance your life.
i just witnessed this travesty of justice and i am dumbfounded.i have 2 say from a spiritual standpoint,i am as equally displeased.why would god allow something like this 2 happen? if zachary's death was inevitable, what was the purpose of his creation? to have to endure such devastation as the death of your son & grandchild by the same hands of a manipulative & sadistic being whose motivation was her inability to accept rejection... is simply beyond the level of my understanding.
@afoolnluv35 zachary's creation has helped touch the lives of so many people, both of those who knew him and those who didnt. Thanks to his life, this film, and the people who watched it and went to sign the petition, Zachary's Bill is now a law in canada, which says the courts can refuse bail to a person charged with a serious crime who is a threat to someone under 18. Even though Zachary's death was horrific, it was not in vain.
@egytianxratscrew ...thank u for sharing that resolution, but i still don't understand. it angers me to no end that 2 completely innocent people died senseless deaths. why? yes, through their deaths, laws have been enacted to protect future victims, but why did this have to transpire? why did such a loving & carefree person with so much promise, have to have his life snatched away & then a child that he never knew existed, suffered the same fate...inconceivable!
I just watched it a couple minutes ago and I am in tears. I cry in movies, a few tears run down my face, but this one was different. When the second "thing" happened I felt my heart sink and I just started shouting "WHAT! OH NO, NO NO, WHY, WHY THE FUCK WOULD THIS HAPPEN!" and I started sobbing like a baby. I swear this is a film you will never forget.
Just watched this documentary, not 5 minutes ago. I feel very raw and emotional too. Thanks for sharing such a candid response! I know that can be difficult. Like you, I can't really put into words my feelings right now. Kate and Dave are indescribably remarkable people, and my thoughts are with them right now.
I got the same way over this movie. I don't care much about people (but mostly I don't care about kids) and this movie totally saddened me. I really felt for those parents and felt like they emotionally suffered a thousand times more than the average person.
Dear PeaceTree, another good movie to watch, while it is not a documentary, is the stoning of soraya m. It is a movie, that is a true story that a British reporter recorded from a women in the middle east. You need to watch to watch it, it's another that makes you feel like you need to do something.
I felt so touched the way you did. I lost my husband in a violent crime and watched this movie because I felt that I could sympathize and kind of wish that someone would do something like this for my daughter. Instead I was confronted with an entirely new way of looking at loss. I have never been so affected by a movie.
My friend posted it on facebook and I watched it through netflix. I am not a people person either. I'm the person that cries when an animal dies in a movie and not when a person dies. This film completely tore me up inside. I laughed, i cried, i was angry. It has definitely opened my eyes a lot.
I just finished watching this film and I felt the same exact way that you did. I'm posting a link to your "review" on my facebook. Because I found that on the trailer too many of the comments were "giving away" too much of the story. I don't think someone can have a "true" reaction to the film if they know the whole story... Heartbreaking.. Thank you for your video!
i felt exactly the same. it's the only film i've ever seen where i was crying from like 10 mins in to the very end. i seriously could hardly breath at some point cos i was that choked up! hahaa. his parents were so incredible and the little touch at the end with the note pad really got me
PS. I totally love you for putting this here. It felt the exact same way, that I HAD to do something to express how terrible I felt after watching it! I also just saw it in Jan 2011.
I was seriously fucked up after I saw this film, I immediately watched it over again and it ripped my heart out of my ass then too. Wow. It really was amazing. Just horribly sad :(
I've seen many emotional films (usually narrative films), including a good numbers that have unusually and completely shaken me, but Dear Zachary, which I saw a few days ago, took me completely off guard, and your reaction here is not surprising to me in the least, as I kind of didn't know what to do with myself after finishing it. It was a bigger emotional roller coaster than any other film I can think of.
I'm glad you "enjoyed" the film, if that's the right word.
