  • The 4 Coronation Anthems are stupendous, but this one is the best!

  • God Bles Her Majesty! Long may she reign!!!!!

  • Just magnificent!!

  • may she live forever, Elizabeth Regina

  • The quintessence of majesty sublime. Vivat, Vivat, vivat.

  • This piece of music at its best is fantastic. I found myself wanting to drive the choir much harder. The introduction was a limp and lifeless. I know that much is often lost on YouTube, but there is deffinitely something missing here.

p.s. I have no religion and am a Democratic Republican so my comments are restricted to the music. The setting is as good as you can find anywhere in the world.

  • @1finch2finch I think along with the Messiah, Watermusic Suite, and Music for

the Royal FIreworks, that this is one of Handel's greatest works. Thanks so much

for posting it. I can listen to it all day.

  • In the last chords of the instrumental, leading up to the climax of 'Zadok the Priest', I always choke up....every time. Magnificent.

  • Este mismo coro fue cuando me Nombraron Webmaster de Venezuela... jajaj

  • Can you imagine how spectacular it will be the next time this is performed in context ?

  • I never tire of hearing this lovely piece of music ,thank you for posting it

  • @kathgeall You're very welcome. Thank you for the kind comment.

  • The music may have been composed by a German but it is profoundly British.

    Vivat Regina Elizabetha!

  • @B21983 well he was German but we claim him, ;)

  • @B21983 Handel was born German but came to England in 1713 at the age of 28. He devoted his life and genius to the service of that kingdom and therefore surely deserves to be recognized as British, no?

  • @B21983 - Handel was German by birth but British by choice. What more needs to be said? His taste was impeccable lol. :0) .

  • Yes I agree wonderful, thanks for posting

  • Bombastically wonderful. Thank you!

  • @mmbmbmbmb 'Bombastic' is a perfect word for this piece. Sometimes, there's just nothing like a lung-buster. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • @1finch2finch

well said! ... totally agree ;o)

  • @treblechoir99 You're very welcome! Glad that you approve.
