From what I understand, the XY can be mapped to continuous controllers. So, you could map the X axis to pitchbend and the Y to pan, or expression, etc. Right now, I don't think there is a way to output X/Y to MIDI notes... You can use Max/MSP for that, though.
how bad is the latency for the signal to get in to the DAW or VST?
