The thing is, Future Trunk in his 1st appearence was stronger than Kid Trunks. Unless 1 year without fighting really weaken him that much, in the special episode(Yo Son Goku & Friends return) he fought somewhat evenly against Abo who Tarble said to be at Frieza level & you saw what Future Trunks did to Mecha Frieza & King Cold. This being Future Trunks after Cell Games, Future Trunks is still stronger.
