Just think that if Nascar, being the GM owned and managed bunch that it is , had not outlawed the "HemI' engine..this would be a much different race and the Ford 429 "BOSS" also...GM would be out of the money...
@raginroadrunner The current race prepped chevy engines displace 358 cubic inch and have a better torque curve and more horsepower than the 429 "boat anchors" of yester year. I think NASCAR is owned by highest bidder, Toyota has deepest pockets now. It kinda seems like a sick joke but its true -- I love stock car racing. The late model on dyno is a better example of what racing should be, than NASCAR cookie cutter school bus looking jokes they call Cup cars.
lol theres a couple things that can cause that jolting like a few said, the clutches in a Late Model are but the bare minimum there very hi preformance but they are simply metal to metal, with no pads, anyone whos drove a racecar with cutches like that would know not to use it as much as possible. another reason why i might jolt is the carb might be out of sync
The shaking is very simple. Nascars as well as all cars can shift at anytime, but if you shift into a gear, and the engine isn't supplying enough power it will jolt like that. Next time your in a manual don't give it enough gas in first. The car should shake and try to move, but as soon as it has enough gas to move their isn't enough so it stops. Difference is were talking a 400 hp engine
Ok, so fine it might not be a "nascar" but it is a stock car race car, which is generally considered a nascar, and technically if you really want to look at what a nascar is, and montecarlo ss i guess is a nascar, as well as the other main brands cars
not to be a dick but this is more than likely a nascar late model. Even though it might be on tv on sunday these races are still put together buy nascar. As for the jumping on the dyno, late models run a really small diameter/light weight pressure plate/clutch disc than can be a real mother to get used too.
This is not a NASCAR legal car. It is a late model. Nascar does not run a late model series anymore. They used to run the Slim Jim All Pro Series. Not any longer. Keep in mind NASCAR is just a governing body not a type of car. There are many divisions just not a national late model class. There is a huge difference between a NASCAR legal stock car, in any of the stock car classes and a late model. A late model is considered a stock car tho.
@killpeople20 Yes, however their cars are sponsored by NASCAR and common slang has them to be known that way. Technically speaking, any car that competes in a NASCAR race is considered a NASCAR class racing vehicle
From what i read none of you guys posting comments are racers on this car you only use the clutch coming out of the pits once and then its all about rpm no more clutch the clutches in these cars are very touchy and if you drove one you would know so stop talking out your ass
i race over at Sportsdrome Speedway in the Front Wheel drives and all you do if you race a honda or acura u leave it in 2nd and thats it and in the pits is drive for the auto and 1st if man.
I think its trying to say "Let me the fuck go!"

Nascars? Oh my god. I like Nascar, but just because it's a race car does not make it a "Nascar". It's a Late Model.

@proudhoosier26 i agree with except on the fact that NASCAR does run a late model series, its called the NASCAR k&n pro east series

@DrwMrchnt3 K&N East and West series are all old Nationwide cars now. Not late models.

@jbat3535 NASCAR (National Association of Stock Car Auto Racing) is a RACING SERIES, NOT A CAR

depending on where he runs and if its a late model or outlaw, could be a superclutch in that thing..

More than likely an inexperienced person behind the wheel, also yeah it doesn't look like they are tied down right or good enough...
MOLSON783 3 years ago
these cars have so much power and arent made to shift under a certain rpm thats why it jumped it was most likely the torque

these motors are really jumpy. so a touch of throttle is alot. also looked like thay didt have it strapped down tight enough.
400exkid 3 years ago
Why is it shaking like that, were u doing that with the throttle or was it a problem with the car
