  • I love this song. It' s all, what I would say.

  • A fandamntastic recording and neat idea to use the video. Well done jvnicks!

  • If it weren't for the Beatles we would be still playing those same 3 chords.

  • @79goldmaster1 I think we have The Beach Boys to thank for that, I don't know much about them, but weren't they doing just 3 chords until their Psychadelic period which they did because of, yes, The Beach Boys :)

  • @TheDJGrandPa I think both groups influenced one another.....Beach Boys had better harmony but IMO the Beatles lyrics were better.

  • never seen mention of it but we know eddie cut this 4 a friend and now seems 2 me he tracked his vocal so the tigers could dub their vocals 4 the record. any knowledge any 1.

  • maybe since eddies mother died noone took on looking after his grave but i was shocked that it could b in a less than perfect state. thank u from all of us for taking care of it.

  • This song has always been one of my favs since i was in my teens, i a'm telling you, it's a long time ago now !!

  • I've called my girlfriend a chick, I've called her fatso. I've even been known to call my girlfriend "Miss It" but never a Jelly Bean". I think it would take alot of nerve on my part to call Miss It(my girlfriend), a jellybean. She'd want to know where that's coming from cause she's not a "Lady of the Night" or a "Hooker". I've also been known to call her "Sweetness", since she digs into the chocolate about 3x a day & makes her own cotton candy. I Love my Broad, but never Jelly Bean!!

  • "I'll you tell what I will do, " listen to Eddie for an eternity. Eddie rocks forever!!!!!

  • The night Eddie Cochran died in the crash of the London Taxi he was riding in, a young fan had carried his guitar to the cab for him.

The young fan was Marc Bolan of future T Rex fame.

Marc would also die in a automobile accident years later.

  • This is, in my opinion, one of Eddie Cochran's best recordings. When I became a fan, almost 30 years ago, there were about 70 Eddie Cochran songs extant, plus some live recordings, and I managed to collect all of them.

Thanks for making this & posting it, it really rocks, well done

  • This clip just went to my favs on The Tube---so young & talented-that plane crash.Real R&R fans will never forget them.Props to you who shines Eddies grave.

  • RIP Eddie you are an underrated gem!!!

  • love this track

  • génial

  • This song really rocks! Go Eddie go!

  • I always put my had up when i go past the grave

  • Always the most talent of rock and roll history.

  • Eddie rules!, he still sounds great & bloody refreshing to me.

Surprised myself that i never heard this number before.

His guitar solo is nearly the same as the one he did for Baker Knight on 'Just Relax'.

    Rock on!

  • Remembered and commenorated each year in the Town that he had his accident ( Chippenham UK) . Memorial at the spot and Remembered fondly.

  • its sad that his grave is looking in a bad way...

My Home town of Chipenham (UK) is where Eddie had his accident, a lovely memorial on the spot of the accident and we hold an annual Eddie cochran event ...so dont lose heart, Eddie is remembered and held within peoples hearts.

  • Everything he did was great. Love Eddie Cochran and it is a pity that he isn't mentioned in the same conversation with other great rock and rollers. I have always thought that he was the best.

  • god bless eddie cochran-he'll never die in my heart.

  • OK, you live in UK. So 1:st go to CA, US. Get a car, SE of L.A. to Cypress. Forest Lawn, Memorial Parks & Mortuaries, 4471Lincoln Ave., Cypress. Interment space 4, lot or block: 2996. Very close to the Lincoln Ave., but first trough park entrance and 1st left, on the cypress drive. Take care.

  • Hello,

Please do so,If you don't probably no one will!

And that is a shame to let this have come so far,an american icon, ainspiration to all guitar-players who came after him!

Good that there are people like you.

  • Thank-you for such a kind deed!

We need more people in the world like YOU! Eddie's grave needs be kept up! I been a fan of Eddie since 1956!

    I will never forget him!!!!!

P/S May all sunrises be bright in front of you and the shadows of darkness behind you!

  • If I lived around the block I would do the same. I visited Cypress August 2009 but at that time the grave/stone was in pretty good shape. Left a rose. RIP Ed.

  • @glamfootrocker

hail to you brother!! i would do the same... was in memphis last year and bill blacks grave was the same... we cleaned it right up...

50 years ago today eddie left us... never forget...

  • @glamfootrocker Good man! I can't believe it, but I'm glad to hear that somebody over there is looking after our Eddie's grave.

  • @glamfootrocker

I hope you cleaned up Eddie's last place as stated. His memory deserves respect and I'm saddened to hear the condition you describe. I guess his family is all gone now and most fans aren't like you. Please Remember Eddie.

  • @glamfootrocker Did you manage it?....... ; )

  • This song rocks my song! Rock 'n' roll is forever!

  • @386due

i have to agree great man great voice great song

  • @stevetilbury100

Eddie's music about life reflects in my short story writing in university, which I have a scholarship.

PS May all your sunrises be bright in front of you and shadows of darkness behind you!

  • 1957 model of the Gretsch G6120 Chet Atkins. It's got a G brand, a cow head on the stock, and rectangular fret markers with western designs. He modded the pickup. Gretsch sells a replica.

  • Very nicely dubbed.

  • Eddie was from Minnesota, no?

  • no

    he was from heaven!

  • wrong he was from hell! rock n roll is the devils music and the rebellion about it it feels great

  • Hell no! He was from rockn'roll heaven BUT for some that is/was hell! hahaha

  • mygypsynature. Yeah, from Albert Lea, close to IA border. Go there if you can. They have the Freeborn museum with som of Ed's stuff, among others, his black leather pants, checkered shirt, gold (or was it silver?) lamé west and black shoes (UK tour, NME poll winners concert, 1960). They also have every year, in June, a Eddie Cochran weekend with lotsa cars and ....Eddies music, of course. Been there once, in 2006. Great!

  • One of his best songs, I think. Darrel Higham has done a very good cover of it, with Deke Dickerson and his band (also here on youtube), but nice to hear the original; thanks for sharing!

  • The song is an interesting rarity. Good to hear it.

  • the king

  • Great video, with good synch. Thanks for posting!

  • Is he performing jelly bean in this clip?

  • no the video and audio are different--see the info

  • The immortal spirit of Eddie, of course is with God in the sky, because peoples like him, that made a lot of fan's happy with his art, certaly be blessed for God

    God Bless you Eddie!!!

    Mendes/Brasil

  • Eddie Cochran had a huge influence on Brian Setzer. Cochran death was just a total waste. The taxi driver was sentenced to prison for purposeful wreckless driving and the other people in the care were badly injured to the point that the accident ruined another man's career.. The driver was an inconsiderate jerk who was speeding. The car hit a lamp post and Eddie died the following day. What a total and stupid waste of a talented man, who knows how he could have influenced rock.

  • That driver was a unmature 21 year old guy. Read somewhere that the teds/rockers in UK as late as in early '70s was searching him to beat him up but I think he was punished by himself. No good feeling being known as the guy that killed Ed because driving like moron. I can almost see what kinda guy he was as I had a cousin that always tried to impress me with similar 'tough' stuff, like driving at mad speed on small roads. 'What if...questions. I think Ed later would have concentrate on his gtr

  • Cont...his writing and his producing. In any case, as his talents were so great, wherever he would have chosen to make his stand, he would have had a poor chance of not succeding.

  • Thanx for posting Jelly Bean, one of my EC faves that I haven't heard in way too long.

Eddie died in a taxi in England on his way to a gig in Scotland in 1960.

He is the first true guitar hero, rivaled in the day only by the great Chuck Berry.

  • In 1990, I talked to a English performer who played guitar for Eddie in his last concert and said good-bye to him when left that fateful day. What a pity!

  • In England but to London and airport, gettin' home to his family and friends.

  • Now that's playing both rythym and lead at the same time.

  • Can anyone tell me how Eddie passed away? I had no idea he was so young when he died.

  • Car Crash in 1961, i England. soo sad:(

  • In April 17, 1960

  • He died in a car crash in England April 17, 1960. I saw Eddie perform live in concert 1957. He was a musical genius!!!!

  • You're very lucky, then.

  • April 17 1960

  • j'ai 58 ans et je crois aussi que c'est le vrai rock , mais à l'époque de ma jeunesse pour l'écouter en France,c'était presque impossible!Mais déss-que l'on a pu capter "radio-caroline" ce fût superbe!

  • Eddie rocks always will the guy was so koooool....RIP..

  • im only 19 and i think this truely rocks!

so ahead of his time as you can hear in this one and a true pioneer in many ways!

thank you eddie for all the good times,

    what if?

  • This is classic guitar work! It rocks my soul!

    Sincerely,

    Jim.

  • Thanks Eddie!!!

This is real Rock & Roll! Dance! Dance! Dance!

    Sincerely, Jim.

  • The hot rock vibe Eddie created is top level and always will be....it's seems this is what today's rock, or whatever some call it now, wishes it could feel like. Well, I'm old fashioned , I guess, but gold is gold forever.

  • top song eddie ,great drums, guitar etc this is rocknroll

  • Great song!

  • Awesome! Thanks for posting this jvnicks, Eddie Cochran is the greatest rockabilly artist I say!!

  • I love jellybeans and eddie cochran too

  • ho my god ,eddie is the best ,i sung the eddie songs like Eddie rocker in my old band!

  • This song is awesome! Can someone give me some info on it? When was it recorded, was it on an album? etc.

  • TheMicksMusic...send me a message and I give you all info.

  • Why did you bother to put the song Jelly Bean when that is NOT what he is playing in the video from the Town Party?

  • Read the description, genius.

"I know Eddie's video is not lip synched to the video, but it's nice to imagine a video was made of this rocker song."

    Word.

  • TheMicks...hehehe...it take no genius from looking at "more info" hehehee

  • awesome

  • SUPPPPPIIIIIIII!!!!!!! Das nenne ich Musik! THANKS

  • "I not only resent de allegation," Ed used to say in his Kingfish voice, "I also resents de alligator!" It's easy to get melodramatic over Eddie; in the end, all you can really say about him is that he lived, he died, and in the process he made some music that stands by itself. But it's a crying shame that BBC dubbed over or lost all the filmed live performances from the UK tour 1960. It woulda been such a goldmine to see them. Sob, sob.

  • Found this version on the cd "Early recordings" very good

  • the song live "fast love hard die young" you got it? Never found it yet.

  • you mean "Live Fast, Love Hard, Die Young"? I have it if that's the one! As soon as my eye clears up, I'll make a video for it!

  • hey coupe, I am uploading it now. I just put a video together. Amazing Eddie was just a kid when he recorded it (1955)!! ;)

  • Thank you for sharing this amazing pice of music, he was the best, I recognize this video from his "school days" performance. Never heard this recording, Iv´e got one from the cd "Rare n rockin" which sounds very different as I like to put it. 5 Stars jvnicks!

  • Thank you so much for this one....a real piece of class Eddie Cochran!!! Just love that Gretsch!

  • Thanks Caylus1578, I just wish Eddie had lived to record a video for this rocking song! I have a ton of Eddie Cochran material I plan on posting, some material he was only 15 years old!!!!!! Thanks for your reply!

  • Look forward to it!!! A real treat!! Thanks again.
