  • I mean, in this ceremony the pipe organ it's too noisy, it cover the voices.

  • @koiny2009 Well the sound of the camera is not perfect....maybe a bit loud in one or two of the verses, but it is also tradition with powerful organ.

  • Che assurda strombazzata!

  • @koiny2009 What is absurd?! In my channel you have to write in Scandinavian languages, English or German.

  • WOw! WHo's the cutie at 01:36?

  • @aal49 No idea.

  • From the Augsburg Confession - Book of Concord - 1580, which contain the ten statements of faith that Lutherans use as official explanations and summaries of what they believe, teach, and confess. It is the standard of what Lutheranism is.

    Article XXIV: Of the Mass.

1] Falsely are our churches accused of abolishing the Mass; for the Mass is retained among 2] us, and celebrated with the highest reverence.

  • @tmaclure3 This is not the mass but a vesper but what you say is correct. However if the service is called anything else than the mass - you can say it is abolished. The word 'mass' is still used in the Scandinavian countries.

  • @karpov89 Thanks for the clarification. I really loved watching your video. I wish more Lutheran Churches in the States embraced their Catholic heritage/past.

In fact, in recent times, I've seen more Lutheran Churches here trying to distant themselves from it. One Lutheran Church near my home remains Lutheran but took the name off of the front.

  • " High " but still Protestant theology ( as it is the case in the Anglican High Church ...

  • What is the processional song? I really love it!

  • @thedoctorplusone It is no 512 (Hymn book of the Swedish Church) Det ringer till vila (evening hymn). Lyrics: Archbishop J.O. Wallin (who has written many hymns, this was written in Järvsö and is also known by that name) 1838 and music: I. Widén 1916.

  • Does anyone know the name of either the hymn or the tune? Thanks.

  • @kbunicyle See the answer to thedoctorplusone

  • I think it is interesting to see the amount of people NOT singing and looking around.

  • @redbrian3655 That was very few.

  • It is like this some places. First English, Pittsburgh is smaller, but has this flavor.

  • high church all the way. i wish it was like this in "conservative" Lutheran churches in the USA...

  • @papa6912 In some it is. I know of several in my area. I agree though that it is not this way in nearly enough parishes.

  • sehr schön!

    Grüße aus Deutschland.

    Berni

  • beautiful church, there will still know about this beautiful country and these beautiful churches.

  • wow they even have Theotokos

  • A Swedish Church full of people!? Sweden is so atheistic its not funny! Yet, this video gives me hope. I am faving it.

  • Love this. Wish my Lutheran church was this beautiful.

  • An interesting banner being carried, the Byzantine icon of Our Lady of the Sign.

  • @UncleAl3 Thanks for the information; I did not know about the origin of the icon on the banner.

  • This is a beautiful church, beautiful organ, and glorious acoustics. I loved the procession with the thurifer, crucifer, torchbearers and banner bearers. This very much reminds me of a high-church Anglican Vespers as well. Thanks for posting this video!

  • I didn't know Lutherans are so Catholic-like! Nice video

  • Thank you! Well Lutherans in other countries are less High Church.

  • @karpov89 So is Lutherans in Sweden (if by HIgh Church you mean Rome-flirting)!

  • @1891serru The Catholics are our friends of course, but High Church is High Church, the expression has its origin within the Anglican Communion.

  • This was very beautiful! I love beautiful building. Architexture [spelled woring]

  • Thanks! Yes it is the biggest cathedral of all Scandinavian countries.

  • A co to za religijne pierdoły?? :/

  • Sorry I do not understand. Write in English, German, Danish, Norwegian or Swedish.

  • what kind of camera you used here? very good filming, congratulations for the beautiful video.

  • Thanks and God bless! It is a Panasonic DMC-TZ7, which can make movies in HD.

  • if they were REALLY high church they"d be singing in Latin

  • Well you are wrong about that. This is a hymn which is written in Swedish and Swedish is the language of Sweden. Had it been Roman catholic it had also been sung in Swedish. Latin is not the language of Sweden although some music can be in Latin.

  • @jojanv They might be singing the liturgy in Latin if it were Catholic, but this is a hymn, thus it is in the native language. However, this isn't a Catholic service anyway, though it's not far off.

  • @speaks3703 Well there may be parts in Latin, and even Greek in the liturgy eventhough it is not Catholic, like in "Julnattsmässa i Mariakyrkan 2 - Christmas night mass in the Church of St. Mary 2"

  • What an absolutely magnificent cathedral! Very beautiful. It seems that Lutheranism in Sweden is more high church than in the USA.

  • It is the biggest cathedral in Scandinavia and truly magnificient...the Church of Sweden as a body is much more high church than the American lutheran churches, and this is especially high church.

  • @stpaulphillip I know. I wish my Lutheran parish was like this!

  • @mrstjs Well this was a special occasion, but the Cathedral of Uppsala is magnificent. Maybe you should talk with your pastor so that the parish could adopt a more High church liturgy
