I have a 2nd baseman. I'm starting for triple A. I'm batting .336 2 HR's and about 25 RBIs. Im hoping im going to be called up bkoz i did good in my advancement goals. I may not reach only 1 goal. But idk. My power blows though. I lead the league in triples bkoz my guy just misses hr's. So its either extra bases or flyout which blows. What's a good number for power? Im at like 49 against righty and 47 against lefty.
Oh damn isn't that horrible? One time my gf (now my ex) was messing with the cables and accidentally unplugged my ps2 right when I was saving...lost like 3 years.
make sure to give your player plenty of power hitting points right from the start. It also helps if he's tall, and weighs a good amount. You also want to make sure he bats with whatever hand you do in real life, otherwise it's disorienting.
Finally, hit the square power swing button about 90% of the time. The x is usually useless, unless you're hitting with someone who you know cant hit for power, like a pitcher.
And it also just takes practice, it is a fairly hard game at first.
Actually I hit the X button, it's all about timing in this game, and you must be patient at the plate...It's called the most authentic baseball game for a reason...but have a blast and once you can start reading pitches it only gets better with time...What I do a lot will have batting practice before I start RTTS just to get some timing done...but don't get frustrated if you don't hit one hard everytime
My first comment worked back when I had MLB 07 The Show for PS2, but MLB 09 for PS3 is actually much harder.
And after several short, frustrating careers I'm realizing it is true that it is all about timing & patience. It is like real baseball, you have to wait for your pitch, you have to follow it all the way from the pitcher's hand to the barrel of your bat.
So my new rule is when I am impatient, or frustrated, I just have to stop playing. MLB 07 was a lot easier.
Is this like a career mode where you create a player and only play as that player, instead of creating a player and adding him to a roster and playing as the team?
my guy isnt good in 09 yet. my 07 guy got to the majors in may, and then i was a second baseman for the dbacks in 2012 and played everyday and at the all star break had 42 home runs and 67 stolen bases. I wish u could convert ur player to the next game
my guy is awesome. 31 years old, 1st baseman for the Rays, 99 in everything except bunting, drag bunting, baserunning ability, and baserunning aggressiveness. just the previous year i hit my 300th homerun and currently my high in one season is 63
I was just playing my RTTS player and i was i AA i was pretty pissed of cause i led the league in hitting im lke wht! no september call up, soon as september hit i got called up to BIGS i was lost for words first season!
My guy is a 3rd baseman. His power is 87 and contact 79 He has 15 seasons in the big leagues. he went to the major leagues when he was 20. he is an 8 time all star
My guy is a MLB all-star, about to head to the Hall of Fame. He's a 38 year old left fielder who can do every thing. I can't get any MLB career records because I made him 20 years old when I created him and he didn't play majors until he was 26 (I prefer to increase my stats that way). Played for the Indians for six years (only made the playoffs once), currently playing for Mets (have won 5 NL MVP awards, along with others and 4 World Series). I love it when my vision works out.
my guy is a mlb starter, 1st baseman, he has 14 homers in 2 months. i have 80+ contact and 90+power. i got traded to the f***ing mariners.....ah well i will leave...but i put user bars all the way up to get points until i can be all star level
When I was called up my first pitch of my first at bat was a grand slam at the giants ballpark

foch41 2 years ago
same, i get a pitch high and i fly out, i get a pitch on the knees and i homer wtf.
OurLastNamesRhyme 2 years ago 2
it depends how high the pitch is. If it's too high then you can get a pop up. It's risky trying to hit that way but you can be rewarded.
thomasg2488 2 years ago
ur back are you gonna go for the record again
