  • The problem I've found with always trying to fix things is that when I look the other way things go right back to being the way they were before, so, perhaps they weren't broken to begin with :)

  • @bowenfarm1 We use thought to try to fix things when the problem all along is thinking. Creating new habit patterns takes time, patience & baby steps. Trying to fix ourselves also subconsciously tells us we're not good enough. Repeat this mantra often enough & you'll believe it. Imperfection is beautiful.

  • @vagabondsteve Yes, some of the most beautiful things are imperfections or rather the unique :) I've always been happy with way I am, but I fell into the trap of fixing myself to fit in, and people always wanting me to fix their lives. So, I am retiring from the madness and going to enjoy what makes me happy for a change.

  • spiritual re hash... it would be good if you spoke from now and not then

  • @Darshanaji Please elaborate.

  • Well done. :-)

  • this is very good stuff my man.

  • You talk about not concentrating on the material world, but I gotta say you sit in front of the plant in a particular way. I can tell that you made decisions about where to place yourself in the camera frame and what was in it and how. You have made aesthetic decisions to come across a particular way: these are based in a material world. The irony is about life it that it's ironic and we all are a mass of nutty contradictions. etc etc ... et al...

  • hey steve, what do you think of the idea that freedom of outcome + intend is like the secret of the universe... On the one hand you have extreme acceptance of what is, the belief that everything is completely perfect as it is, the snow falls every flake at the right place etc... and on the other hand you have passion, willingness to perform and create, raw integrity, ambition.. when the two comes together you create the most fulfilling and value offering life one could ever ask for.

  • what if i get F's every time ? If i get F's in school all the time, no matter how i try i get more and more F's.

And my parent's hate me for that.

what do i do then ?

can i just let it go ?

  • @MrGaky You must be a smart guy to be making machinima, or at least creative. I know you were asking Steve but if I were you I would put those last F's behind me and relax. But don't quit trying to get better grades. Just allocate your time more wisely. I know when I was in high school I would spend too much time playing videogames and not enough doing homework. Try to control your impulses, it will be hard at first but you'll get more disciplined over time.

  • @Tigran4 yes lately i start to pay attention more to school and less to gaming.

i started taking extra lessons in school and stay there up late.

all i need to get over now is to do freaking home work at home....

  • Love it, love, it love it ........

  • This is a great meditation for perfectionism. :)

  • @Aprinsa I dont think there is a perfect thing neither a perfect being.

  • very positive. thank you very much:)

  • You are just what i needed to hear. May buddha be with you always, you clever man.

  • i think a couple of things i've found out through months of seeking inner peace...

"inner demons" die from exposure. the way to picture it is sort of like those vampires in classic movies that die when they see sunlight...it's actually sort of amusing to realize that something so scary and evil as a vampire could die so easily with a little sunlight, but then again our ego is just as fragile.

  • another thing that i've found helpful...

whenever my mind really starts taking over, when i really feel that burden, that strain of the ego controlling me and my actions, my energy...i turn the tables on my ego, on my mind. i stop whatever i'm doing, and place all of my attention into my thoughts, my worries...i dominate my worries, i dominate my own mind, and what i then realize is that the "i" in that sentence: "i" dominate my own mind, is my true being, not the worries-not the ego.

  • to clarify, the dominate i use here shouldn't imply fighting with or controlling our mind, i mean more like overwhelm our ego with light, with calm but fully conscious attention...because the ego whines and whines for attention, but the truth is our ego runs away and shuts up really quickly when we actually stand up to it.

  • @Running4EVER33 Your welcome!

  • Stop trying to fix ourselfs lol that is exacty what you seem to be doing here lol you seem to be examining and analizing everything

  • @43springwater How so?

  • It takes one to know one lol Im an analizer to ,A deep thinker ,always thinking always thinking

  • Vagabond steve I apoligize for the negative comment yesterday I do enjoy your videos

  • @43springwater Thanks, no worries.

  • One of the best your videos:) really helpful. Hmm and now my mind is telling me should I really put this comment here and I say ok let my mind talk it doesn't matter;D

  • </3 control freaks

  • it appears that you have too much experience talking to women and not men.

  • o rly how so lol

  • thanks for your inisightful view. its all within. to lose self you find oneness. to realize your not your mind or body you feel the flow. breathe ah(: to all that seek without you wont find love, peace. kill the ego its not you!

  • You are amazing, thank you for all your insight

  • What if you cant accept whats happening? because believe me I've tried but I just cant...

  • @michaelkay As Eckhart says, "Accept that you can't accept."

  • @vagabondsteve lol. but acceptance is a process, and we have different time span for it. somepeople take it as is at that moment, some amight be a week or a month and others might be longer or someone brings it to their death bed. But youwill never feel free and at peace until you do...

  • I've struggled with constant desire to be approved by others for 30 years now. I wonder if there's hope for me.

  • Yes, observe this desire within you without resistance. Accept, surrender, and flow with life. The need for approval is not the problem. It's our lack of observing this tendency within us which causes us to act unconsciously. I also recommend reading Eckhart Tolle.

  • I think its a paradox. If you come from the place of feeling fundamentally flawed, then no amount of fixing is enough. If its from the place of wholeness, by fixing or clearing, you will become more of what you are.

  • Well said Mike. TY

  • Thank you so much for making this great video and all the other ones and for putting the positive energy into every one of them. I truly appreciate it friend! A great life for you!

  • Thank you for your inspiring comment!

  • i have noticed that i am hanging on for dear life. I am scared to death of letting go. And i have no reason. Ha! Why do I? Conditioning?

    Baby steps.....

  • Give up the need to let go and you'll be free. Observe, accept, and embrace resistance. We are already perfect in our imperfection. There is no place to get to. Observe your mind and realize that all it's fears, desires, & conditioning is not you... YOU are already complete NOW.

  • "Give up the need to let go"... I like that.

  • (See my below posting before reading this)

The same goes with people. We can't try to pluck all of our thorns off our body, nor all the faults out of our personality. But if we can each offer a rose to the world and to everyone we meet, in the form of kind expressions, then no body will ever put a focus on your thorns.

  • Do you write poetry?

  • A rose bush is 99% green stems and thorns. But our perception is kind enough to ignore all the negatives of the thorns, because of the single rose that is flourishing. It's not a thorn bush, it's a Rose bush.

We unconditionally-love this tangled-mess of green-thorny-branches, because of the appreciation for the rose the plant has to offer.

  • Beautiful!

  • Thanks Steve. I know I will get there. I have started to accept that i can and may slip but I will get back to my centre and allow everything the way it is meant to be. Love you, Steve for who you are. There are millions of stars out there, I pray I should be able to get near at least one of them, I mean one of YOU

  • i like watching your videos because u seem like a regular person, and i can relate to you. sometimes when i listen to "gurus", i can't relate. i bet u do regular stuff like, go to work, get dental check-ups, and pay your internet bill. tx for posting

  • Thank you!

  • Great stuff Steve. Thanks.

Amazing how many times we need to be reminded of this simple truth...and how easily we drift away from it...Listening to your material certainly helps me stay on course!!

  • T.Y. Agreed reminders in various forms help us from drifting astray. Check out the video "Fire Your Guru". It explains how to have a 24/7 internal guru to keep us anchored.

  • Once again thank you Steve...helped me to hear this. Acceptance, yes.

  • O' where or where has Ruthie gone? O' where o where can she be? Thank you for all your comments!

  • Aggressively positive! I like this

  • Hi Cos! How have you been?
