i must say as a islanders fan i find my self watching your videos a lot. They are great. Also on a side note the leafs have a good team but they are just need one more finisher. If the Burkey made a move for Tavares on draft day the leafs would be scary right now, As an isle fan though Thank god he didnt. But not to make you feel bad this islanders did beat the red wings last year 1-0. So some games team just bring it and other games they dont. anyways keep up the good work

what they did diferently vs the Caps was they adjusted their defence to make it harder on the caps, they eliminated that 2 line pass. They need to find a weekness on other teams, and use it. dont do the same thing all the time.

and sorry to the guy below me but the swedish league is nothing like the nhl, otherwise gustavsson would have a under 2.00 gaa. wallin has done nothing this season, and were a quarter way through. hes had his chance and hasnt proven anything close to what we were hoping. and to extend my finger comment, hes had glimpses but right now gunnarsson is the guy to play, throw in schenn beauchemin white kaberle all playing great and our D is looking solid. cant wait for komisarek to come back tho

i was gonna say the same thing about making your videos downstairs, just dont overuse its magic. not to bash toskala cause hes one of my favorite leafs but if u really look close at that game he had a lot of breaks. 2 posts, and one save where he came across on someone who shot it at his chest with half the net open. not saying he didnt play great, just not sure how confident i am that we'll see similar consistent performances yet. as i said wallin is brutal, needs to sit. finger too

Wallin isan outstanding player, in Färjestad he was captain, he was a regular in the swedish national team...and he is so good !! now, ppl in canada may not think this, but I´ve seen him play for Färjestad since he was signed to them...he took over as captian from Jörgen Jönsson, tought by many as one of the best swedish players ... ever !! and taking over after someone as great as Jörgen Jönsson, well...that is some big shoes to fill...give it time...Wallin will grow into the NHL jersey.

The Leafs played very well, so not taking away anything from them, but a shootout win is basically a tie and the Caps were playing this game on absolutely no rest (and looked very tired) and with 7 regulars out with injuries. Just sayin'.

Toskala gets way more crap than he deserves. Like you said he was one of the top goalie prospects at one point and it's tough to be a goalie on a really bad team that can neither score or play D.

wallin baffles me...how can a guy who's name you can rearrange to spell "ALL WIN" be doing so poorly...

on a serious note, every game tosk has played has been solid. 2 years ago, he's the only reason they got as far as they did. last year, he was our only goalie with a positive record, something like 22-18...granted not a great record, but positive and on a rebuilding team.

if we did deal white for a guy like sharp it would allow us to keep kaberle, and give us someone that can play with kesse; so he doesn't need to do all the scoring hisself.

AND if we waived blake before that then we'd still save almost a mil in cap space with 4.85 mil going out (blake being in the minors) and 3.9 coming in.

Saving the leafs about 950K increasing our cap in the offseason to sing a jokenin savard or marleau.

The Leafs need more up front. They need a skilled power forward and a top rate center. I would not get a 2nd rate center for more than just this year. If no top players are available at this point, wait for free agency. I think Burtuzzi would be a good fit here to fill the power forward position and would come at a fair price.

Washington looked tired, even Ovechkin was peeved near the end at how they played. Caps were not on their game and Toronto took full advantage of it.

I was impressed with Toskala. I was also impressed at how CLEAN this game was. Not a rediculous amount of penalties, no idiotic pushing/shoving/fighting/ect. No macho 'truculence'...they just went out there and did their thing.

Having said all that, this is no break through game for me as much as I wish it were...Was a great game though.

This win was huge especially after the debacle with Carolina. I agree with you Steve in that this team has potential and even Boudreau said that the Leafs aren't deserving of their record, and this win while awesome shouldn't stand in the way of certain changes that could be made. Wallin scratched= win coincidence yes maybe but i think definitely helped I have no faith in that boy and a few others, who have had their shot.
