  • Somebody remind me of the other canidates in the 2007 election please? You know those that weren't A- homophobic, workchoice Howard or B- Dictator, censorship-loving Rudd? Cos I'm really interested in knowing what we could have done BEFORE Rudd got enough power to control if i criticize him or not.

  • "Somebody remind me of the other canidates in the 2007 election please?"

The Greens. The only third party in any position to speak up against the ruling duopoly (wherefore art thou, Democrats?). And the Greens unequivocally oppose the filter.

But Rudd clearly seemed like the better choice at the time. Howard had overstayed his welcome.

Unfortunately the majority of Australians are so clueless and locked into the two-party rut that the we're stuck with Dumb & Dumber in the near future.

  • Child pornography is disgusting and cruel. Using this sick concept as a propaganda tool to sensationalise the agenda in order to sell centralised internet filtering is almost as foul. Australians are already one of the highly regulated societies on earth. It is sometimes hard to breath without some wowser having an opinion on it. Trying to control the flow of information is a waste of money. Australians will find a way to learn what they want when they want. Paedophiles and wowsers can go hang.

  • RUDD ROLL'D ! Ahahaha.

People need to write letters to their MP's etc etc, petitions are pointless.

  • This filter is rediculous, what right have they got to block R18+ rated video games? its pathetic just because they are games kids must play them? this just like chinas net filter, they're probably borrowing the same programmers for our filter.

  • haha i did not see that one coming.

anyway Rudd has no right to censor the internet. He didn't mention anything about this before he was elected and nonetheless it's an invasion of our rights.

  • Those bastards are my employees they have no right censoring anything without approval from us...the employer! &^%% profligates

  • Fuck petitions, write a letter to a member of parliament, and not just some shitty email, write a snail mail letter. Harder for them to ignore.

  • I think writing letters to senators is the way to go. Labor have the numbers to pass through whatever they want in the lower house. The senate is where it can be blocked.

  • Dont sign the petition, write letters to Steve Fielding, Nick Xenophon, Malcolm Turnbull, Nick Minchin, and your local member..
