Go to the main menu, then settings, then click the right arrow once to go to sounds and alerts, then go to light effects.

You have to download themes from online to get the lights to be a different color all the time, just search w580i themes in google or soemthing

The black one is more usual than the white one, because more cellphone desings have been black over the years than white. Plus, white an orange is a very cool retro combination so I vote for white U should get the white one.
