  • @deeboo000 meeeeeee 2 my dad introduced it to me!!!!!!! <3

  • What my life used to be like before i turned it around, thank god i was always one step ahead of the law.

  • the way it used to be the way it should be the way it is country outlaw jamey johnson thx my friend

  • this song reminds me my ex he is fighting this very battle and all i can do is sit and watch him slip further and further away. funny how people do drugd to numb their pain but cause so much hurt to those that love them.

  • This song reminds me of my Daddy thats in jail rite now. Before he got arrested we used to always listen to this song . I hope he gets out soon!

    *Luv ya Daddy!<3

  • Anyone else live their life by this song?

  • life story lol

  • George Strait and Alan Jackson have not done as much true country over the years. Why, it doesn't sell. Alan's last true country release "I still like bologna" stalled on the charts. I love Jamey, I love this true country sound but it's hard to be successful in mainstream pop country with this type of sound. Part of me thinks guys like Jamey wouldn't want it any other way, don't sell out for what you don't believe in. AJ and George kind of have, as much as I love them.

  • This is a very cool song in more ways than one , had my two young adult sons listen to it and they loved it in more ways than one ! I hope .

  • this is the real country music, no brad paisley or toby keith or rascal flatts. justin moore, alan jackson, george strait, and montgomery gentry.

  • @The93bronco ....how can you put george strait or alan jackson in the same category as those others they are real country music

  • @The93bronco you saying toby kieth and brad paisley arnt country?

  • @The93bronco george strait and alana jackson? really? and toby keith has some old shit thats real country dont everr shit on them yes jamey johnson is amazing but there wouldnt be any jamey johnson with out them..

  • @The93bronco

SERIOUSLY!! George isn't country?? WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SMOKING!?!?!?!?!?!?!? He's as country as country is!!

  • @The93bronco Along with AJ, and Brad is AMAZING!! Even if all of his music isn't always country, Justin Moore is awesome too, and so is Toby Keith. Rascal Flatts are ok, but I do love some of their songs..... and there's nothing wrong with Montgomery Gentry.

  • @The93bronco If you want non-country, go listen to some Taylor Swift, that girl can't sing to save her damn life!!

  • GREAT shit

  • @SuperTropher27: your right exept taylor swift is smokin hot and the other ones are guys haha

  • lovee thiss songg<3

  • @JesseIsThunder yeah its true..my buddy a while ago said CMT had a program called "Alternitive Country" where they played all the GOOD SHIT. i just wanna say FUCK KEITH URBAN! sorry i hate that guy hes a damn shitty giant mole on the backside of what used to be country..

  • I am free of drugs, and this song helps me know I am clean.

  • JJ come back to Kansas them yuppies basturds in other states dont know what real country music is

  • @ssnumber19 Yeah country music in Kansas is so popular lol (sarcasm)

  • @ericishere100

I dont know where the hell you live kiddo but get out of the ghetto youngin. I live in kansas born and bred and the only thing i listen to is country.

  • @americantothebone dude I was not saying that You dont listen to country, I was saying that you dont hear Kansas and think country music. I live couple hundred miles outside Nashville. Thats a place that when you hear it you think country music. You dont have to get all offended, Relax. The state of Kansas just dont scream country music.

  • About time someone sings about things I understand.........

  • until you have passed out on the bedroom floor and slept thru the calm before the storm you just can't understand it or get it at all boys and girls

  • This song is REAL. This song is sang from the heart, and hits home hard to probably most of all us good ol boys. 6stringgunslinger is right...bout time we hear some real country from a real country singer. Awesome song. Proud to listen.

  • counry boy are hotie than city boy <3

  • I know it may be too soon to say this, but I honestly think this man has the potential to be the next Hank Williams Sr. Jamey Johnson's country is so different from the country nowadays, it seems like he's from the past.

  • ive already taken that road.......wouldnt have changed it for the world..it made me grow.

  • i love all the people who give their life story or stories of how they wish their boring lives were in the comments

  • Thank God. First thing even close to Johnny Cash. I've been waiting for this.

  • @peltel2222 man merrel haggard and conway twitty and hank williams sr are just as gud as johnny cash

  • Great song I LOVE IT

  • this song is my life story i had a home a agood job a great woman and a beautiful i traded it all for pills and heroin and a whore soon after i went to prison. my female remarried and moved her and my little girl across the damn country and my brother and most of my friends are now dead

  • Finally a real country music song!!! this boy is good...redinds me of Waylon Jones and Cash.

  • i laugh at this song if ya know my situation the cost of livin high is only money when ya done lost what mattered i had a lovin new family the woman i loved and a good payin job with her brother one night my best freind died so i lied to my woman told her i had a drink and with no love or regret she broke my heart right their after 1 and 1/2 years of what she called love 3 days later had a new man then and their i tried to hang myself the rope broke and i woke up and shot up heroin still am

  • I hate new school country music with a dying passion. But this song is REAL and from the heart. I can relate to it BIG TIME! Great song!

  • Jamey Johnson is one of the only true country artists left. What Nashville calls country nowadays is just sad.

  • great song!!

  • this song describes how i used to be i love this song

  • boy this songs hit home, crazy becoming my new norm

  • He fucked his life up. GOT IT BACK. fucking respect it people. and its not about smoking pot its about cocaine. Pot is not a drug. its perfectly NORML :)

  • @fukurhonDUH than what does he mean by "that baptist church parking lot was where i'd go to smoke my pot" i thought he meant marijuana :) hahahahaha fag

  • this song reminds me of my fathers death. he was depressed and broke and drank himself to death. I love/hate this song

  • good tune. sounds a bit like Waylon

  • @ jayr5j it says your body is a temple and to maintain it as such. That's like asking where in the constitution it says anything against cocaine.

  • the first (and only other) time i heard this song i was taking a massive shit in wendys.

  • Ok, stop and actually listen to the lyrics before judging That southern Baptist parking lot

Is where Id go to smoke my pot....

As soon as Jesus turned his back....

With my back against that damn eight ball

I didnt have to think or talk . . . or feel

He was trying to say he was lost and had abandon Jesus. He wasn't saying that smokin' pot in a church parking lot is the thing to do.

  • @trasey73 Theres nothing wrong with smoking pot.

  • you are all idiots... it doesn't matter what he dd or where he did it.. the whole point of the song is he did some messed up stuff and he regrets it

  • Its' a fuckin SONG. get over it. I guess it's OK to say anything if you are a Crapper-I mean rapper

  • What happened at the CMA's? Guess they took the country out of the awards!

  • @edlongelec They've been doing that for quite a few years now. But, you also have to blame all these "New Cats" that claim to be country when they're really sugar-coated Pop! Record Company Sheep do NOT belong in Country Music! Thank God we've got guys like Jamey out there! He's the only REAL Country I can think of from the new scene.

  • good song i dont care what any one says about

  • where in christianity does it say anything agaisnt weed?

  • This is Depressing

  • i can attest to this, lay off the coke boys....it just aint worth it it, 2 years in huntsville, got out, joined the army, now my life is strait...and whiskey...after my deployment, im still fighting that battle, but, anyone that wants to be right, will be after time, dont judge a motherfucker on his past deeds....

  • "Sittin' in that southern baptist parkin' lot, where I'd go to smoke my pot, sit in my pickup truck and pray, staring at that giant cross, reminded me that I was lost, and it just never seemed to point the way"

Ain't that the truth. When I heard that part I bought his cd because you can tell he has been through some shit and has a story to tell.

  • to be honest that was like the only part of the song i didnt care for & im not even religious i just thought he could of smoked out some wear other then a church parking lot!!! i mean i have smoked/smoke a lot of green but ive never once had the balls to spark one up on church grounds i would literly take a step of of the property & lite up but thats dissrespectfull if you ask me & like i said im not religious at all!!! & hes from the south i thought that would be a BIG no no

    down in dixie!!!

  • who cares, hes not smoking his weed as an ef-you to the church

  • i care & im not even religious its just a bad spot to burn one & i smoke heavy!!!

its dissrespectfull to the beleavers/worshipers of the church & to many of them it could be taken as a F-U to the church!!! i mean come on man who cares it only a church? is that really a arguement??? im just saying i dig the guy & his music its just that was not the greatist spot to spark one up!!!

  • @brownrider56 You're right b-rider its is a bad spot to burn and that is basically just what he was sayin'

  • you can relate to this song which is what country music is about

  • This is a well written and perfectly worded song. One of the best from this time period
