This movie is such nonfiction compared to the real story. The house was never that clean, not even close. Gertie had 7 kids, not 6. Jimmy is the one child not mentioned and the baby's real name was Little Denny, not Kenny. Paula was never, never nice to Sylvia. I read the trial transcripts for this case and this movie is candy coated like an advil so people can swallow it more easily. It was never proven that Gertie slept with Hobbs but she did like the attention. She was horrible.

Coca Cola probably permitted the movie makers to use its image because it was a Coca Cola bottle in real life, and they placed it in the film because it was a big part of 1950's America. This movie is totally unrealistic.
1. Gertrude Baniezewski was prematurely aged from repeated pregnancies (by different men).
2. She was having sex with local teenage boys.
3. The house was squalid and filthy.
4. There weren't even enough spoons for the entire family.
5. Sylvia Likens' parents knew what kind of person Gertrude was, but let the kids stay there anyway.
