  • Lots of prior knowledge taken for granted here. I think this video is only useful if you know how to do it already and know what he is talking about. When I've learned how to use BD no doubt it will make sense.

Nevertheless it has encouraged me to dig deeper into BD and study other videos here on Youtube.

  • I have a question maybe someone can help :D

If you want to mix live drums with programmed midi, do you think it's best to record the drums first then add the midi or the other way around- i.e play along to the programmed midi? Thanks...

  • @Ashsdrumming I would prefer playing with drums along with the MIDI, but a big part of that decision is just personal preference of the drummer and engineer.

  • nice! i have never understood Beat detective until now - been really useful for me

  • yeah, it's a great tool!

  • how do you make the purple line to separate all the traks??/cause when a select my drums as a group it only alines the first track

  • I don't know why it's doing that for you, if you are selecting all the tracks at the same time it should work, wish i could help =/

  • @abelinpilin only pro tools hd can beat detective more then one track at the same time

  • @johnthesoundman

Or the music production toolkit. It unlocks more tracks, gives you multitrack beat detective and drum replacement and a bunch of plugs, notably a convolution reverb.

  • @SansonNavajas Oh yup, thats what I have (the music production toolkit,) so there's your problem @abelinpilin
