If it helps anybody, I'm 5'7" and I have 34+1 Bauer One60. This was recommended to me by the salesman at a goalie store in Markham, Ontario, they fit well for a butterfly goalie. No matter what you do, try on any pad before you buy
I'm just wondering since I'm going to play street hockey with my buds, I'm 5'8 and I was wondering, since people ahve been telling me, I should get pads around 32'/34' right?
if i am 5'6" with reeboks and i still need a little bit more room to grow?? Would a 34+1 be to big or just right????? Please send me a personal message ASAP!!!! Thank you
so i never played before im bying used pads im 14 im just going to play at the local outdoor rink so to my knee is 20 inches skate size is approxemetly 10,5 us and i would like to have 3 inches extra so will my size be 33,5 or what. i need to find gear before winter comes in about a month so i need a reply.
I'm confused. My old pads were 32'' (no plus size thing, they were made in the '90s for sure) and they were fitting me perfectly. I bought 32'' +1, knowing that those new pads were my size. But, I've noticed that with my skates on, my knees are under where they should be. Wtf?
Either I have really small legs (I don't) for a person who's 6'2", or there is a lot of people who are wearing pads that are way too big. I wear 33" and my knee is dead center in the knee pad. All of you are talking about 35's and 36's???
Can you explain the benefits of the having no break, a single break "giguere" or a double break "turco" pad? I have a narrow butterfly and currently have tps summit pro pads with a 2x break and they seem to work pretty well, but im planning on getting some new pads (brian's zero g or focus) but i havent decided yet which one to get
Im right now 6'-6'1" and i have size 34" pads but they feel really small. I am playing better this season than last, does this mean that maybe smaller pads are better for me or could it be from me breaking the pads in. I did nothing in between the seasons could u plz let me know if i should get new pads. Thank you
help me please i want to buy a reebok pads but i dont know what size will be good for me i have 166cm height i think i buy premier series and i want to buy a little too big pads help please sry for my englisch
If you fit a 33, the 33+2 will fit you like a 33 with two inches on the top. Haha.
The extra height you shouldn't notice besides the pads maybe overlapping in your stance or touching when you butterfly (neither are too, too negative)
Your old pads were 32" total. Your new pads are 35" total. That is 3" on top of each pad you aren't used to. 6" between the two of them. That is probably why they seem too big. In time, you will love them. If i'm wrong you've got me stumped.
@pgt31...yo i play dek hockey and i'm like 5'9/5'10...atk is about 17 inches...what size pads do you think i should get?...i play dek hockey, so i'm without skates, dunno if that would make difference, i play in vans btw...wasn't sure if i should get 30's or 32's...prolly mission soldiers or rbk xpulse...what do you recommend?
Also, if I get the 34+2 turco break, and I put it upside down ( like I always do) well it get small, so my knee well go on to the knee cradle abit more? Thanks alot!
Very helpful video! I appreicrate it. I have a somthing to say though,so about your leg not being exactly in the knee cradle, if its about 1-2 inches down will that hinder my movement? I would fit perfectly in a 33+1reebok pad,but I want to get a 34+2 so I can grow into it. Im 14.
question. If I get a 34 inch pad online, how do I size it from the toe to the knee and the knee to the thigh rise. They dont want seperate measurements. It's only 32, 34, or 36 inch. Please help!
If you order online, you can't specify. You get choices from the pads they have ready to ship. If you want to order custom sized pads go with a dealer or call reebok direct.
If you still want to buy online, try the pads on in a store first. that is what i did.
so u think i should get 34 +2.if i got 35+2 do u think that would be way to big because i dont want them to be to small and i dont wnt them to be to big so i cant move. s should i just get 34+2
Its tough for me to say man without seeing you and helping to fit the pads to you but I will tell you to go with the 34s- but it is completely ur choice man just get what feels good, try on a buddys or something.
well wat is the length of your legs because i think im gonna get the p3's like you ahve and if i do im gonna need them to last 2-3 years since there expensive so from my knee to like my ankle is around 19 and i think i want plus 2 so i need your help with wat size i should get so the pads will last a few years
I see u have 34+2 how tall r u? I am 5'8" and ordered 34+3. I never used reebok before, but now i need the 11inch wide pad for SRU in college hockey. Does the 34" fit around a 5'8" person? I should be getting them in from a custom order in about three weeks but i am just wondering anyways.
Im 5'8, 5'9. 5'8.5" if you will lol. The 33 fits me just right, before buying the knee guard there were times when my knee did hit the bottom of the knee landing risers (butterfly position) and I could feel that happen, so I would't go any bigger than a 33 at all or else that bottom of the riser feeling would be a ' o shit i just hit my knee on the ice' feeling. Your height isn't the biggest determining factor in fitting pads! The height from the top of your skate to the middle of your knee is.
Im 5'6'' and when i used the sizingchart, it said i would need 34pads.. does that sound about right?

so the plus sizing doesn't include the thigh guard its just where the knee is and the extra length of the pad above it?
Flynnstone307 2 years ago
hey i just bought 30+1 inch does that mean they are 31?
Tyson3129 2 years ago
Nope, it means they are 30"
ie- they fit a person who wears 30" pads
AND have an extra inch on the top of the pad that does not affect the fit
pgt31 2 years ago
it means you have 30" pads and have 1 inch on the rise, the rise is the leather that holds the pad together on the very top of the pad
96batman96 2 years ago
Do not get pads too big for you it will limit your movement ability.

i think what he;s trying to explain is there is an extra 2 more inches above your knee craddle now

so if i wear senior 32's and decide i wanna get new pads with a plus 2 do i get senior 30's plus to or what?
and wuts putting the pad upside down mean?
fleury29pens 2 years ago
no you would get 32's because that is what fits you, the plus two does not change the fit it just makes your pad taller on the thigh rise (top)
puttin the pad upside down means storing it sitting on the top not the bottom
like the boot is in the air and the pads are leaning against a wall,
this curves the pad more
but also breaks it down a bit

ok thanks alot really helps

quick fix, don't put it upside down.
with new pads these days, and what they are made of on the inside, you're better off to let it perform the way it was built to
get the pad that fits, let it keep fitting well

if it is not right centered you will be ok, you will move perfectly fine, only thing is your knee might strike the ice once or twice. no big

ur height is not all that matters when it comes to pad sizing. I am not very tall but I wear a 35+2 pad. it all matters about how long ur legs are.

middle of my knee to top of my foot is 20"
go for the 34
its a huge knee cradle, so if you grow you will be okay
