I have one of those fans as my exhaust fan and it doesn't have the clicking noise at low RPM.. IT does get ridiculously loud when cranked to full speed (use a fan speed controller) but I never have to use full speed because it's just too damned powerful.
These fans are great for using on CPU cooling blocks when your setting rediculous speeds with overclocking. For daily use they are a horrible pain in the ass.
It seems bearable when at around 9-10V so that's about 2000-2300rpm maybe. Scythe has an Ultra Kaze model that's 2000rpm, blows around 88CFM and is 32dba, it's also very nice.
Mm.. Ive just ordered 3 of these.. However im planning to run low RPM.. I hear this ticking noise on lower RPM... Is that a deviation or just how its supposed to be ^^?
@CoolingTechnique Ah ok.. Tnx.. Maybe you can also answer this..: Im using the Zalman MFC-3.. I cant seem to get the fans over 2500 RPM.. 1 is 2230 max.. 2 is 2500 max and the other is 2330 max.. Too low power supply from Zalman or just natural imperformance by Scythe?
Okay, I got a Ultra Kaze 2000rpm for CPU cooling. At half speed, from ca 1000 to 1300rpm the noise is totally fine. Over that, and it get's noisy. Could be annoying without headphones or similar.
i finally got one of these in the front of my chase and i must say on 6v you cant hear it and it's still above the performance of my skythe kamakaze(whitch is very powerfull too)
I had a cooler master scout storm ATX case and I could hear my 2000RPM side fan very well, then I switched to a Silverstone Raven RV01. The case is very good at keeping the noise in, so I will switch my top fan to a Scythe Ultra Kaze, thanks for the review
Uch... sounds like a taking off jumbo-jet. I Got one 2000rpm kazake in my pc and it is extremely noise.

holy, thats a low startup voltage. most fans start up at around 6v
connorman5511 1 month ago
I wouldn't think it'd be THAT loud . My GPU fan at 63% is a little over 3000 rpm and it's bearable .

@ewsxy If you want low RPM just get a Noctua fan.

is 3000rpm the standard rpm setting or is there like a switch you use to pump up the rpm?

@DDennnisss it's a "problem" of the uk 3000 series.....probably it's made by the low cost tecnology used to build the ball bearing system.
