@slowdive3030 I'm not going to claim to know, but there are different (18_) different specialties, one of them being weapons sergeant. I assume they do not have the exact same training, hence specialization. I would go to the Army's site if you want accurate information though, not YouTube!
@slowdive3030 Google SORB (Special Operations Recruiting Battalion) and you will be able to find answers to any questions you need to know. If you are already in the army find the SF recruiting office for your post. If you are a civilian tell a recruiter you are interested in an 18X contract. Don't listen to anybody that isn't in the course or hasn't completed it.

yeah i graduated from 68w about a month ago and there are def some standard combat medic stuff in this video. however there are lots of procedures i'm sure they are not showing here. honestly im not even sure why they would have an 18d video. anyway i talked to one civilian teacher who said they had goat labs where they would jack the animal up and the W1s had to save its life...and then later they would bbq it haha.
@jac621 for one dude, we arent suppose to be saying things to the public about that. Secondly, even if the army did such a thing, there would probably be rules to follow and they probably wouldn't bbq them and it wouldnt be jus W1's that got to do it. thats if the army thought about doing something like that.
@jac621 can't tell you everything but they wouldn't bbq them seeing as the anesthesia is poisonous to us and the flesh is riddled with the stuff.-source being a corpsman who had a slice of this...the school isn't secret at least the medical portion isn't
Maybe it is the video, or how the video showing its age?...but from what was shown I do not see anything (skill sets) diffrent then what the current 68W does....then again I have only been a medic for 7 yrs now, maybe I am just in the wrong
The course is sterile now. Not like the good old goat lab days in the 80's and 90's. Started with 72 my class and graduated 12 of the original 72. Course to me was more difficult than medical school with all the added BS. San Antonio was the shit though. Remember broad street in the early 90's?

My friend is a 18d and said it was a hard skill to qualify for. He had to revive a pig and do semi-surgical stuff in the field with little or no tools to use. These guys are hardcore!
