to play custom songs longer than 2 minutes off of your flash drive, you can apply a patch to the sound file to make the machine think it's only 1:45 (see r21freakdotcom)

if there are custom songs with banners and all, that means the machine has been hacked. This is a much more complicated thing to do but you can find info at boxorroxorsdotnet

if you were to play it on a slower speed, the arrows would be too close together to see clearly which arrow comes first... thats why people play it on x4, x5 etc. because when you get up to these kind of songs, it just gets easier on higher x-mods

thats also pretty fast, but go as slow as x2 you wouldn't really be able to distinguish the notes and you will reduce your FA greatly... the best thing to do would be to build up your reaction speed to be able to hit the notes more accurately
