  • What do you use to mark the draw wt on your bows and do you find that it fades over time?

  • how did you recurve it ?

  • What you've described is a fiberglass bow with a wood core. Lightly sand it, with like 120, and work your way up until you get it smooth. Don't dig into the fiberglass too much. It will change the bow.

  • @ArcherOut I don't think it is fiberglass it just looks like a lacquer

  • @nolangreen I would almost bet you that bow ...... that it is fiberglass. See if you can see any wood grain on the outer part. Good luck.

  • @ArcherOut if the bow is hickory, then the grain is hard to see and sanding it will only make it more difficult

  • @nolangreen Spray.

  • @ArcherOut also would you reccomend spray on or brush on lacquer

  • for a bow like a martin jaguar with a big handle how would you go about refinishing it. just light sand until scratches are out. the front and rear of the limbs are green and then the edges of the limb and the handle are all natural wood.

  • can sum1 plz tell me how to make it recurve

  • Glad you like Fox news, I heard it in the back ground. Glenn Beck is the man! Love the O'reilly factor!

For the recurve in this video how much would you charge for it? I'd love to sit down and make one for myself, I just don't have the time. I like them hand made, time and effort.

Anyway great videos, nice in-depth instructional. I'd recommend this to anyone.

  • @ScarRebel Glenn Beck is the man, isn't he! Also, check out Alex Jones. Unfortunately I took the recurve bows off the site. Took too much time, and my swords orders are taking up a lot of my time. For the bows I still have on my site, we are still not taking orders on them at the time either, due to order volumn.

  • @ArcherOut Okay thanks for the info though anyway man. I've been following top shot so far, looking forward to seeing you on there. Have fun and take care

  • how long did it take to make this bow

  • I appreciate what you're doing here, however I would greatly appreciate it if you'd turn the television off during your videos as I personally have a hard time understanding you with all the noise in the background of your videos

  • Nice vids. I like the nice homely touch of leaving the TV on also :D "Is America going Communists?!?!?" Made me chuckle :)

  • I really like your video's very informative....only thing is i must have missed the part how you add the recurve to the bow. Very nice work by the way.

  • Awesome! Thank again Chris

  • So, what are you spraying on this bow? What are you thoughts on a polyurethane coating, or will that crack?

  • No, it won't crack. That's basically what I'm spraying on it. Ha Ha. You would think it would break, but beleive it our not you can bend it in a big circle and it would not crack at all. Chris.

  • can u make 60lb elm bow,,i was told it could be done.

  • Sure thing. If it's a good fiberous hard wood, and even not, you could back it with something, you could still make any kind of bow, but certain woods effect your performance of the bow. Chris

  • thanx chris..most archery shops just want u to buy anything, they dont care if it shoots like crap its always about money..iam using a 66 inch 40 lb hickory bow,,whats the best arrow???

  • How did you go about the steaming process?

  • See my video titled: How to Deflex a Traditional Bow - By Scorpion Bows & Knives. It's a seperate clip.

  • Is steaming a hard thing to do?

    Jack.

  • No. Just takes practice.

  • how did u get the curves in the bow at the top ps can u use oak for a bow cuse i live in australia so yer

  • I steam it, and yes, you can use oak. Thanks.
