i loved fighting the tigrex in the moutains i would always cut off his tail first since it takes a lot of his hp and yes it does even though theirs no health system in this game but it'll make killing him quicker to cut his tail off then go for his head and make him really pissed lol i loved the tigrex armor too. :)

@flyingscorpz Well actually, no, the tail is LAST thing you should be hitting, it doesn't take a lot of HP from him and there actually IS an HP system, it's just hidden and can only be accessed by using hacks. This is for the sake of realism. The best part to hit is the head as it obviously takes a ton more hp from him than anywhere else. Here is how to prove it, use devil slicer and hit his head 5 times with the Triangle Button. He will stagger backwards. Do the same to the tail, and he wont.

No. It'd make sense if a axe had sharpness but axes are grouped with hammers (excluding SnS and DS) which also poses the question of why axes can't cut off tails and such? And it's completely possible "to slay gargantuan beasts with arrows and swords" given the amount of time it takes to actually kill them, so I suppose that's actually a bit realistic. Actually, one could probably kill a monster in less time

@Bladeninja76 Also, a sword shouldn't lose it's sharpness this quickly. I can see a sword being rapidly affected from hitting multiple times, say, a Gravios, Basarios, or a Kushala Doara, but when hitting a monster like a Congalala, whose main defense is fur, it doesn't make sense. I'm not complaining about the unrealistic qualities of Monster Hunter, love the franchise, just got Tri (physics=WAY BETTER). I guess I'm just stating the obvious.

he would have hit you with his tail if hed used his aoe at the beginning...it was luck he used this ability... but the idea of hitting legs is good if he falls u can use ulti on him and get away again ... staying on middle distance is also good technic ... if you are too far away from him he gets you with charge .if u jump he turns around and his next move hits you 95%... you need ear protection 20 at tigrex+ .. if he yells while rage and you get ccd its over he double charges you and you r dead

The tigrex that you fought is a regular tigrex, and you're using a true devil slicer which is a high class weapon. Nice strategy though.

What i do is attack him unill he is in rage mode. Then i stun him using a flash bomb and place a schock trap.When he runs and gets trapped, i use 2 lrg barrel bombs+ and 1 small barrel bomb + and bombs him. He normally falls down after the xplosin and its very effective as when tiggy is in rage mode , his defence goes down by 40%

I beat my first tigrex while attacking it in rage mode. it is risky and I fainted 2 times,before I barely killed it. Not attacking it in rage is a VERY good idea. I completely missed the opportunities to get the tail when you leave him biting air, so I just hit it all the time until it is severed.

@TTigrex Start with an iron katana grace and upgrade to eager cleaver. Use blango armor, i'm not sure if it's the best, but it's what I used. Bring a max potion. (Kelbi Horn and Immunizer.)

I got good with my LS and you're prett good too, however i seem to have no problem hitting it while in rage and I always beat Quest in like 20 min w/ NO feints. So i disagree with you on that part, unless you directed that to a beginer vs. a Tigrex.

P.S. you gear is not too hot but looks very classy.

@Soccerballnerd It's definitely Beginner vs. Tigrex. I see no point in making guide for advanced players as they make their own battle paths/plans.

The gear I used was for me to say that you don't need high armor to beat a monster (well, some of 'em). It's a really lame in fact :) Only adds up luck I think, or carving... don't remember.
