I have a virus on my computer and it disabled my AVG antivirus protection and brought up pop ups of the shied guard on the right side bottom of the screen. I downloaded AVG 2012 protection from a library on their internet. I uploaded the 2012 version and stopped the shield guard pop up, but I have to go through the AVG icon to get on the internet, not to mention I can't access my programs like flv player and Pepakura designer without a window saying open that file with selections stated.

That will not remove viruses, it will remove a few viruses that hide in temp files but any virus that is installed on your system will not be in temp files and will therefore remain on your computer
