hey man i drive a Yamaha Jog, but i can easily drive faster bikes (like a tuned 125 bike whick is faster than ninja 250 at starting). Will i be able to go on with an NC30 like yours?
@sean123abc You add a little box between the wiring harness and cdi, some call it an HRC box but they seem pretty cheaply made to be genuine HRC stuff. Jetting is changed, snorkel can be removed from airbox lid and a less restrictive end can added, the one on this bike is a generic M4 carbon silencer. I ran it again this last week, mill have to post a better quality audio/video soon from the new camera.
Indeed. This winter I should be finishing my 2nd NC30, full HRC intake mods and probably a full exhaust since it is in a million pieces right now anyway!
I have an NC30 also, but I get a strange noise when I engage the clutch, it whines in unison with the revs when changing down gears and is very noticeable. It sounds kinda cool, but it certainly is not right! Any ideas?
I would personally tear down the case cover and clutch and see if there is anything unusual going on? There should be very little play in the clutch basket hub,a little is fine, but not too much.
I have a slight issue with the bike. When warming up, the bike goes like hell, picks up fast from low revs and goes hard. However, when up to temperature and warmed up, it seems it's running a bit rich and it's got slightly less power. Front wheel doesn't feel so light under acceleration and the engine tone is a little boggy. Definately not as much punch from the low revs. Any ideas what to check?
You probably need to reduce the main jet size, it is FAR more common for me to jet bikes down on the dyno than up, they come from the factory at a setting about as rich wide open as will run. I do not remember the jet sizes in this engine, next time I have the carbs off I will record the data, it runs perfectly once warm but poorly until up to full operating temp, carburetion is always a compromise.
micahShoemaker is right. i have a vfr400 track bike my main jets are 110 when stock is 122 i'm making 65.1bhp,
when i got mine it ran like shit check that your ignition box isn't screwed my front transistor was intermitently working. you will need to run it on a dyno to see those problems
This bike has a full power cdi unit and proper jetting for high rpm. The CDI was the limiting factor. The muffler is just a left over, crashed M4 slip on from some other bike, it was easy to fit though. I think the silencer was originally on a GSXR
That is a generic M4 slip on from some other bike, it just happened to fit with a little work. Tyga makes very nice slip on and full systems for these bikes.

@DKGate7Ultras I see no reason why not, the NC30 is one of the most forgiving and easy to ride fast bikes I have ever ridden, track or street.

Sounds like major clutch slip or sounds like wheel is just spinning up on the roller :-)

why is power so low if its tuned?
vxlgsi 1 year ago
My dyno just reads low, non BS numbers, if I take it down the street to the dynojet dyno place it shows about 62 djhp.

I ride a 400 VFR and it's by far the best 4 cylinder sound ever. It's an amazing machine and I love it. thanks for the video.

how do you un- restrict these bikes?

Try using a new air filter!

What is the brand name of the bolted can, and where can I obtain one?

How do you void the mechanical restriction applied on a vfr400 Japanese version bike?
ahmadosama 3 years ago
apparently you can cut a cable in the cdi the rescriction is only in top gear.
MAJORYOURGAY 3 years ago
This one has a little "HRC" electronic box plugged inline with the cdi wiring? I think it is a pretty common mod? It came to me that way?
