IF they open the market next Friday I shall film the scene & do everything possible to ensure that the ayuntamiento is taken to court for putting more lives at risk & behaving in a cavalier dangerous & irresponsable manner, we all knew it was probably going to happen one day as we have seen the barranco fill in minutes flowing like a raging river, If they permit business as usual ever again,It has to be stopped, as it has happened once it can happen again,that would be criminal negligence.
Everyone knew this could happen, what is a town hall for? if it is not to arrange events such as markets in safe places.This place is Narrow with high walls,it is frequently flooded in minutes the proof is on you tube over many years,someone is responsable the warning sighns are only in Spanish foreighners have no idea of the danger they are in,Mostly elderly holiday makers visit this market, this was a tragedy that any idiot could foretell,I want justice for this elderly dead couple, JUSTICIA!!
There will be no justice for these 2 old people until the town hall of Finestrat answer the questions WHY do they permit thousands of people to enter into a storm drain with high walls & deep open drains that floods to the depth of one metre with water flowing at terriffic pressures, under no circumstances is this a safe place for a market with flash flooding in seconds occurring. they have known it is dangerous for years any idiot could see the danger, yet they encouraged people to gather here.
@ITVNews Did i actually witness it no I did not, but i have seen it happen approximately 5 times every year for about 20 od years, do date it has never happened to coincide the open hours of the market , and the cloudburst, I could see the rain from my house in the distance, bout 6 killometers away it was raining so hard that some landmarks just disappeared into the cloud formation, it was raining in the miutains for about 10 minutes before one drop fell on the market area so they tbc
@ITVNews 2, had no idea the deluge was coming down the storm drain towards them, there are warnings in Spanish that warn of danger of flooding during rainy conditions,,ther are no oither warnigs in European languages, so any Brit would feel that they were walking along a perfectly normal avenue all tarmacked and walled, problem is the water comes from no whjhere no warning at terrific speeds,since the walls are so high there is no escape this was manslaughter in my humble opinion, tbc.

a situation that takes the life of two people and so much damage ..I do hope
the residents of the area -together -will go to the town hall and demand that this
be corrected--As a potential resident- I find this appalling..I also want to see
the town hall take responsibility for the death of the couple that perished ..
