To those of you who is concern if the glitch still work after latest patch or is annoyed by the update popup, the glitches still works in the patch. Mine is ps3 FYI.
Can anyone please confirm that this still works. Cause I've been trying really hard to do this but having no success. MY THUMBS ARE RAW. Did the patch take this away? Please let me know guys. Thanks.
Once you get the good timing its going pretty easy :) at begining it was shitty and now i got almost every shot i press triangle and x XD its awesome tomes :)

@killer74798 potions a are useless ,, and i dont know if u knew it but in lothering the trap quest never end so u can get level 25 before leaving lothering ,, if u rogue it freaking own through the rest of the game .. and then i dupe tomes and play nigthmare with only my char and u dont need more then 100 every where execpte for , cunning and constitution those i put 200 and 150 XD when u dont like having ur party to make kill playing alone is the most fun mod :)
WARNING!!!. Dont Dupe Tomes on Xbox 360. (the ones that give you +1 stat + +1 spell point). If you use more than 70 tomes and get every skill/spell you can, then the leftover points are stuck at the Spell screen. In other words. Youll have like 100 stats on magic, average other attributes(10-20), all your skills and 30 skill points with nowhere to assign them and the game wont let you past the skill screen without assigning ALL your skill points. Hope im clear :).
Yea this doesnt work on the Ultimate Edition... once you download the patches... it will not work spent 30mins trying to get it to work, w/ a No go at this station

It DOES work - the trick is in the timing. On a PS3 controller you have to tap triangle > x quickly, one after the other, making sure the item is highlighted as he showed in the vid. I don't use my thumb for both, personally. I tap triangle with my right thumb, quickly followed by X with my left hand. No thumb strain, no blisters, and once you get a rhythm going it's just time consuming. Works for both cash and duplicate items (like those lovely skill tomes)!
How do I continue leveling up after I've maxed out my spells? I did this trick on the 360 with the tome of arcane technique but once I've acquired every spell I can't continue putting points into strength, dexterity etc. It just keeps taking me to the spells screen and I obviously can't use any of the points so I can't complete the level up. Anyone have this same issue?
@6StrngMatt unfortunately if you don't leave yourself some room for future growth you're stuck from what I've seen. I almost did the same thing till I realized that once the slots were full you couldn't spend anything else and I had to go to an earlier save and redo it without filling all of your talents / skill slots. I also only took my attributes up (with tome of the mortal vessels) to no higher than 70 to allow room for growth and bonuses from gear.

You have to highlight the item each time you use the glitch. so you start with the item highlighted on the right hand side, you do the glitch, it autohighlights on the left side, you then have to right arrow and re-highlight the item again and then you can do the glitch again.
Ok i figured out why the cheat was not working for me. You can't do it in Ostagar (sp) i tried several times. You can still do the cheat there but you only get gold not an item. I came to the party camp and got both arcane and physical tomes there and started duping them before i did anything else in the game. When you first get there buy both tomes leave then come back and everything will be there again. It only does that once. Everywhere else will dupe the items.

Hey i need help with this. I played this game a while back and i was duping just fine. But since i started playing again lately it has been updated and i can not dupe the way your showing. I can get money but i don't get multiple items. Is there a way around it or anything?

The best way to exploit this gltich is with tomes! That way you can get all skills/ talents for your character and characters friends, as well as attributes maxed out.
@RadiusT100 A patch is a game update distributed over "online" , to fix and correct bugs in a game. Some times patches add game content but very rarely. Patching your game is not mandatory , Usually "Game of the Year" additions of the games include patches and added Downloadable content to give you the complete game.
Works on the PS3. Just tried it this morning. I was doubling up the axe from the camp vendor for 23g each time. So much nicer not having to worry about money on my second play through.
Just keep trying it . It's almost hitting them at the same time. I had to use two fingers. Couldn't do it with one. Listen to the sound of the author hitting the button. It'll work.
@PieroBestable The Key is speed , Press the buttons at the same time but make sure triangle/Y button is pressed before the (C) or (A) button . you have to do it very quickly . I heard this still works in DA:2 and if true i'll make another video showing my hands as well.
Selling stacks of tomes will also net you 250-350 gold per dupe. And you only need to buy back one stack, since the rest will disappear if you buy more then one stack of tomes.
OH and you CAN duplicate entire stacks of 99 items!!!
Just sell one of the item so vendor has 1 and you have 98. perform the trick.
Now you vendor has a stack of 98 and a stack of 99. Repeat. Don't bother with tomes though, they will glitch back to one stack after you buy them back. Arrows or potions work fine though.
You can also do this while starting from 2 items to speed it up....each time just leave the vendor with 1 of the item and take the rest....each time you double what you take.
oh and I forgot to say that my research says the patch will fix this problem. so when the game asks you to update... don't. just hit "O" to cancel. I don't think you can log into the servers tho.
omg thanks for this. I could really use the cash since I die so much in this game. I actually quit, but figured I'd blow the dust off the game since I love the battle changes they made in DA2 and I want to be able to follow the story and enjoy the game a little more!
@asianboi66 yes it works at any vendor. Find one that you haven't sold a lot of junk to already so you have a clear window to work with. It also works in DA:O Awakenings too, and all of the gold, pots and most importantly TOMES imported in without a problem.
I do it just as the video says, just press the to buttons in fast succession starting with the "Y or Triangle" button first. I found it easier to use both hands for the two buttons.
Gold glitch works as of today, 01-16-11 and will work with any item you have so be sure to grab the most expensive item you can find/buy and place it in your junk category. You can then see any vendor/merchant you like (I use the camp merchant). Highlight the expensive item and press both buttons Y and A at the same time with a slight emphasis on the Y (that's why people say press Y first then A but in actuality you want to press them both nearly at the same time). Buy item back and repeat.

use the dupe glitch on the dagger called the Rose"s Thorn you buy it for 141gold and it sells for 28.50gold so each time you get 57 Gold and its in the dwarf city in the commons.

the gold glitch doesnt work for me no more but when you clear your xbox 360 cache the lvl up glitch still works but im playing along the game right now and have 20 gold pieces not bad xp

Glitch still works on the 360, with all updates while on XBL. I am using the Ultimate collection and selling the blood dragon Plate for almost 8 gold. I'm early in the game just after you use the world map for the first time.
when i did the arcane tech books and used them i got all my spells because I'm cool like that but now when i level i have points i cant use so i cant continue and discard it or anything i have to use it but i cant so my level up dose not even do anything for me. id like to still be able to level i am level 15. so can someone help me be able to skip the spells part? like me doing the attributes and skills but not spell?

@481shimmer I don't beleive it's patched, for I was literally just doin the gold and duping glitches. I got 1168 sovereigns and like 90 Tome of the physical whatever. but like i said, it isnt patched.
idky there is no point in makeing these games without there being a glitch to dupe items lol thats just my opinion i dont care if u think it ruins the gameplay just dont use the glitches then for me i like to play though the game but sometimes the lvling and trying to get money gets a little too long thanx for the glitch!
this still works, been trying for 15 mins and thought it didn't but it does! just make sure you highlighting ONLY the item you are selling (sometimes both sides are highlighted) then be super quick with the two buttons.
Max to 99 Str? In the expansion Awakening, I managed to get over 99 magic with the Mage I carried over. Can you go over 99 in stats in DA: Origins or is it just the expansion?
i like these glitches, but the thing I am having trouble with is how I am able to go to camp during the game or does it just happen at random?

@PieroBestable The Key is speed , Press the buttons at the same time but make sure triangle/Y button is pressed before the (C) or (A) button . you have to do it very quickly . I heard this still works in DA:2 and if true i'll make another video showing my hands as well.

Selling stacks of tomes will also net you 250-350 gold per dupe. And you only need to buy back one stack, since the rest will disappear if you buy more then one stack of tomes.

OH and you CAN duplicate entire stacks of 99 items!!!
Just sell one of the item so vendor has 1 and you have 98. perform the trick.
Now you vendor has a stack of 98 and a stack of 99. Repeat. Don't bother with tomes though, they will glitch back to one stack after you buy them back. Arrows or potions work fine though.
You can also do this while starting from 2 items to speed it up....each time just leave the vendor with 1 of the item and take the rest....each time you double what you take.

oh and I forgot to say that my research says the patch will fix this problem. so when the game asks you to update... don't. just hit "O" to cancel. I don't think you can log into the servers tho.

omg thanks for this. I could really use the cash since I die so much in this game. I actually quit, but figured I'd blow the dust off the game since I love the battle changes they made in DA2 and I want to be able to follow the story and enjoy the game a little more!

@asianboi66 yes it works at any vendor. Find one that you haven't sold a lot of junk to already so you have a clear window to work with. It also works in DA:O Awakenings too, and all of the gold, pots and most importantly TOMES imported in without a problem.

I do it just as the video says, just press the to buttons in fast succession starting with the "Y or Triangle" button first. I found it easier to use both hands for the two buttons.

Gold glitch works as of today, 01-16-11 and will work with any item you have so be sure to grab the most expensive item you can find/buy and place it in your junk category. You can then see any vendor/merchant you like (I use the camp merchant). Highlight the expensive item and press both buttons Y and A at the same time with a slight emphasis on the Y (that's why people say press Y first then A but in actuality you want to press them both nearly at the same time). Buy item back and repeat.

@HeeroYuiaFTW You hit sell all and then sell REALLY quick (for x360 it's Y then A). You don't hit them at the same time, you just hit A really quick afterwards. I just tried it and it still works.

use the dupe glitch on the dagger called the Rose"s Thorn you buy it for 141gold and it sells for 28.50gold so each time you get 57 Gold and its in the dwarf city in the commons.

Glitch still works on the 360, with all updates while on XBL. I am using the Ultimate collection and selling the blood dragon Plate for almost 8 gold. I'm early in the game just after you use the world map for the first time.

hey, love tis glitch, but i have a problem.
when i did the arcane tech books and used them i got all my spells because I'm cool like that but now when i level i have points i cant use so i cant continue and discard it or anything i have to use it but i cant so my level up dose not even do anything for me. id like to still be able to level i am level 15. so can someone help me be able to skip the spells part? like me doing the attributes and skills but not spell?

You have to time it just right. i just did it last nite actually. Once you get it down, keep doing it and you get into a rythym. It works.
Tip: Dont MASH the buttons, they respond very well to gentle tapping. So I used my Middle finger on the Y button and my Index finger on the A button.
tip2: once you have enough, Buy the rare Axe from the dwarf in your camp, its re-sale is 21g. Much faster proggression. =)

Max to 99 Str? In the expansion Awakening, I managed to get over 99 magic with the Mage I carried over. Can you go over 99 in stats in DA: Origins or is it just the expansion?
