@Musicofthissphere A 5 second clip does not give true meaning of a twenty year ministry. His overall spiritual message was for Blacks to indentify with the struggles of Israel in the Bible. This was something everyone is encouraged to learn from. Jesus himself lifted the poor in his "Sermon on the Mount". When Jesus said, "I was thirsty and you gave me drink", he was talking about helping the downtrodden. Rev Wright's ministry tried to give uplift to a community in need.

Being Anti American is a weird statement. Alot of people see questioning the Governments actions such as Iraq and Afghanastan as Anti American. Alot of focus is on being proud of your country in America. People fear saying something bad about the Government because its seen as Anti American. This is ingrained in Americans heads which makes them question their basic morals against their "American values" shall we say. This very attitude has been replaced by Obama's hope for something more.

A gentle, fair-minded view of the situation.

Here's how I see it, because I have been distressed by the US for the last 8 years. If my dog poops upstairs and hides it with a pillow I am not proud of her. I am very upset and would like her to change, so I try to help her change her behavior. I still love her, I don't want to go away from her.  The US has been a bit like a puppy with diarrhea. She just needs the leadership to help her stop making messes. Keep it up, TrueRed.

I am very fortunate to have been born an American. I am proud of much that is American but how proud can I be when half of the voting public sides with a Republican party that it is represented by the likes of Michele Bachmann and Sarah Palin.
