If my goal here is to make a convincing argument I think I do that on a pretty regular basis. Evidences include how order is a universally recognized stamp of a creator, like with a painting, or message in the sand, but our dna which is infinitely more complex is suddenly a random chance when people want to exclude God. That seems a little obvious doesn't it? To be polite and hit you with one problem for atheists at a time.

There's probably no one explanation for humans original longevity. Cleaner environment, food, and many other factors were likely involved. We live in a very messed up version of the original creation. I think they were mentioned in the Aeneid when Anchises is fleeing with Aeneas from Troy. Anchises makes sure to bring their household gods with them. They're basically good luck charms.
I would expect, since the mythologies are so similar (Greek/Roman and Hebrew), that the Hebrews also had household/strange gods.
@berniebay you got a good bit of it but miss the concept of sacrifice.The people were forced into sacrifice to encourage the gods to impart "good luck"
The point is that it was an idol that was important to ancient people. It just goes to show how Greek and Roman myths are very similar to the stories in the Bible.
So there's two conclusions. The Greek/Roman myths are based off historical facts in the OT, or both the Greek/Roman myths and the Biblical stories are myths.
I'm going with the latter considering the Bible is anything but history.

When I said pray I just meant along the lines of some kind of token of payment or reverence. I know they're different but it gets the same job done, essentially. At least for them it did.
As for it being historical; evidence actually shows that the Egyptians never even had Hebrew slaves, ever. The Egyptian didn't write anything down about a massive slave revolt. That would be something they would write down, especially since they were great logicians and kept records of everything.

LOL big like. I can explain the word "and" it's actually a mistake while translating from actual(Hebrew) to Greek version. In Old Hebrew and Aramaic there was specific form of a verb that can be understood as Past Perfect or something like that and also as the word "and"+the verb so the differences between past forms were lost in translation and we were left with that meaningless annoying "and".... =)

That still will not explain how the material for such particles came into existence.

If my goal here is to make a convincing argument I think I do that on a pretty regular basis. Evidences include how order is a universally recognized stamp of a creator, like with a painting, or message in the sand, but our dna which is infinitely more complex is suddenly a random chance when people want to exclude God. That seems a little obvious doesn't it? To be polite and hit you with one problem for atheists at a time.

There's probably no one explanation for humans original longevity. Cleaner environment, food, and many other factors were likely involved. We live in a very messed up version of the original creation. Oh and for the record complaining about detailed explanations about things like angels. well there is the whole rest of the bible still right? Maybe read the whole thing instead of criticizing single verses.

As you read, keep in mind that there are several different approaches to bible translations. These range from "formal equivalence" (which is pretty close to a literal translation) to "functional equivalence" which often takes liberties with the translation to give specific meanings to words, but it is often easier to understand. The KJV translates based on formal equivalence and thus you end up with things that may be hard to read easily.

What I don't get is why does eating an apple make them ashamed of their bodies? If god is perfect and makes a perfect design, what's to be ashamed of? If god is surprised at this, then it SHOULD show that he doesn't think they should be hiding. What is there to suggest nudity is a taboo at all? But this is all a human concept. This does NOT say anything about why eating an apple suddenly makes human bodies nothing but sexual objects. My 'belief' of why Adam lived to 800 years. Well, the best measure of time "way back when" would probably be the moon. Every cycle could have been replaced by the word 'year.' So 800 lunar cycles, divided by modern year, equals about 66 years or less. That would be a relatively old age with no medical science to help. (They would have killed an apothecary for 'witchcraft' anyways.)

I believe that the strange gods are actually just statues that to which ancient humans would pray.
They were left at the door, people would pray to return home safely and all that.
I think they were mentioned in the Aeneid when Anchises is fleeing with Aeneas from Troy. Anchises makes sure to bring their household gods with them. They're basically good luck charms.
I would expect, since the mythologies are so similar (Greek/Roman and Hebrew), that the Hebrews also had household/strange gods.

The point is that it was an idol that was important to ancient people. It just goes to show how Greek and Roman myths are very similar to the stories in the Bible.
So there's two conclusions. The Greek/Roman myths are based off historical facts in the OT, or both the Greek/Roman myths and the Biblical stories are myths.
I'm going with the latter considering the Bible is anything but history.

When I said pray I just meant along the lines of some kind of token of payment or reverence. I know they're different but it gets the same job done, essentially. At least for them it did.
As for it being historical; evidence actually shows that the Egyptians never even had Hebrew slaves, ever. The Egyptian didn't write anything down about a massive slave revolt. That would be something they would write down, especially since they were great logicians and kept records of everything.

Without the Egyptians having Hebrew/Israelite/Jewish slaves, then Moses wasn't a Jewish prophet.
That makes the story of the wandering Jews just that, a story. The prophecies would, at that point, be a part of the story. The NT is just an event in History with some fancy twists in it and changes so that it flows with the ancient myths of Moses, Joshua, David, and the like.
