  • I love him.

  • what song were they about to play?

  • 'This one's called 'Me Fans Are Stupid Pigs'

  • BAAAAAAACK

    BAAAAAAACK

  • Not only did he go on a ridicolous rant about a pit that was mild as fuck, they cancelled the rest of the performance, how nice.

  • Didn't this evolve from the ska dance skank? Where it was just dancing and not trying to kill people

  • This is fucking hilarious.

  • A girl died during Limp Bizkit's set at this show, so in a sense, he was kinda right.

  • ouch... he sounds pissed

  • I only agree about the moshing. Moshing is ridiculous .

  • wtf is rong with cedric!!

  • @thewizard1935 For one, his name is Cedric. XD

  • Comment removed

  • @thewizard1935 he was pissed at people for moshing

  • i don t care what none o' y all people think.

    he s right.

  • @doktorcult Oh go listen to Nickleback!

  • What a self-important, egotistical, loud-mouthed, and asinine little tool.

  • I WATCH YOUTUBE TOO MUCH BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  • Typically white people? <--- Only thing I disagree with. Every race moshes.

  • Don't get me wrong, this band are amazing, but come on, really? Cedric's allowed to tell kids off for slam dancing and moshing while he's dancing around crazily on stage? At the Drive In were known for their energy, what the hell else are you supposed to do to post hardcore music? Stand there and be still?

  • @BeneathTheSmiles

    Just dance....

  • @BeneathTheSmiles

    apparently so.

  • Opiates hurt more people than moshing does. <_<

  • @FrostMechanic lol

  • What a pretentious piece of shit. OH LOOK AT ME I'M SUCH A REBEL. Shut your mouth.

  • Am I the only one who thinks they're like the worst major label band live ever?

  • cedric, don't do drugs

  • People were crushed at this gig after they left after 3 songs.

  • BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

  • @snOwBL1nD :3

  • Sounds like the majority here has never been or seen a real mosh pit. I've been in pits at a At the Drive In show...and that dude never said shit. Tbh, he's the sheep. Their band plays music that sounds almost exactly the same as everyone else who came out in that time. I've been in hundreds of pits, and I, We, have always helped anyone out or up that couldnt take it. Even funnier though, the people listening to his music were the ones he called sheep. Coincidence? I think not.

  • Comment removed

  • I go to shows to punch people in the face

  • @Lloyboy small penis, i am assuming. lol!

  • Jesus Christ, people are actually agreeing with this?

    Seriously?

  • That's true what he said everybody watch to much t.v and never pay attention to reality

  • You all are robots, just a flock sheep waiting to be slaughter. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa . . .

  • all i say is people pay the money and do whatever the fuck they want to do. now thsi is coming from a fan of TMV and ATD-I

  • @xananadu well i don't know about you, but pay to listen to live music and watch a show, not to be beaten and slammed against.

  • okay, a lot of people are saying he was on drugs in this video. Anybody have an idea what specifically?

  • damn, it looks like he pissed off a bunch of youtube sheep people too. trendy ass hipsters, you're the same thing as a beauty queen who puts cake up on to mask what little she has to offer anyone. you're all obviously pissed off at what he said for one very good reason. he's right. he sees through you. what makes it worse that even if he was on drugs....he's still right...and you're still sheep. it is what it is. baaaaaaaa baaaaa

  • I don't get it. So he's allowed to run around on stage, high-off his mind having ridiculous seizures, but the crowd is supposed to just stand there and bob their heads?

Get off your fucking high horse man, seriously.

  • @sweetchillyphilly05 Slam dancing is probably one of the dumbest things known to man. I shouldn't have to go to a concert and stand around kids with my arm out so i dont catch an elbow and break a nose or orbital or get knocked the fuck out. Slam dancing ruined the music scene

  • @sweetchillyphilly05 Actually, I think Cedric was quite into people dancing at shows, but he just didn't like moshing/slam dancing, people being overly aggressive, hurting each other etc.

  • I find this a bit hypocritical. Saw Mars Volta in Melbourne a few years ago. He was on some angry pills that night. He jumped into the crowd, picked up a small wheelie bin that was on the side of the standing area and threw it into the seating area right near me. Someone could have got injured but no one did. He then proceeded to run to the back of the standing crowd and crowd surfed his way back to the stage.

The show was being filmed so might have been playing it up a bit for the cameras

  • Comment removed

  • i agree with his views , but he kind of comes of a douche in this clip, its hard to judge though , because i wasn't there.. he could have been joking around

  • "You're a robot, you're a SHEEP!!!! BAAAHHHHHHHH BAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" LOLOLOLS! Ced is OBVIOUSLY high out of his GOURD.

  • @dos21977 how do you relate that to him being high!? If he was high he would be a shit ton more passive than he is here. Have you people done drugs at all??

  • @RicochetKing2113 Wow, I TOTALLY forgot I commented on this page. Thank you for bringing me back. ;) Anyways, how do you know if he wasn't? People act differently when using "said" drugs. Hell, how would I know,(?) never did drugs in my life... well the illegal stuff that is. But I don't give a shit if he does drug or not, his life not mine so chill out bro take a puff. oh, wait.

  • @RicochetKing2113 Have you ever been on cocaine at all???? If not, then try some and tell me that.

  • @RicochetKing2113 Have you ever done cocaine at all?!

  • he sound like an asshole

  • I love At The Drive In but I completely disagree with him. This is why I love how the place I go see shows has it. Theres an area for moshing and there's an area if you want to go sit. It's awesome. I love being in the pit but sometimes I get tired so I go and sit for some.

  • Dude looks like a cunt with his Jew fro and his woman like voice.

Violence is fun. Following direction can be fun too.

  • lol he sounds like will ferrell!

  • Of course hes on drugs thats the point to ATDI and TMV

  • Amazing. If you don't understand the point he is trying to convey, you have no business listening to At the Drive-In.

  • ...I'd like to see how he knows the people at the gig watch too much TV and learned "that off the TV and not [their] best friend". I also love the logic "I have a microphone and you don't so you're a sheep". By that logic all the people who come to watch his shows are sheep, I'm pretty sure insulting everyone at a gig ain't a good way to get people to come to said gigs...

  • Expressing yourself though 'slam-dancing' is better than doing drugs. Oh sex, DRUGS and rock and roll, wow Cedric, you are such a hypocrite. Least they don't need drugs to express themselves.

  • @matthewxbrown

at least Cedric with his drugs only kills himself, but that same crowd killed a person that same day. And that is called homicide.

  • so they just left after this? they just left the stage and said hell with these 15000 people??? Did they all leave at the same time... I still don't get what he means when he starts talkin like a sheep...and making sheep noises at the crowd... I love ATDI but can someone explain this in full detail?

  • @WherethisAllStarted ok, to clarify what you asked as well as what other people have been asking, the crowd was not following the moshing safety rules and getting out of hand. Cedric was disgusted that they couldn't do anything but "slam dance". he called them sheep and robots because the only way they knew how to express themselves to the music was by hitting off one another.

  • @kattlu ok...looking back at my comment...i was a little anxious to ask the question...and couldn't take a step back and look at the situation myself...Thank you for answering

  • Comment removed

  • I agree with Cedric. I actually like watching shows, not moshing. Some people ask how you can enjoy a show without moshing. To me, that's like wondering where the sun goes at night.

  • @bio18logy: "if someone wants to go nuts at a concert who gives a shit"

why don't you tell that to the family of the girl that died just a few hours later during Limpbizkits performance. She was trampled to death when the crowd rushed the stage. And guess who got the blame... Limbizkit, for not defusing the situation and keeping the crowd in control

Can you believe that guy Cedric though? What a douche.

    Now go fuck yourself

  • @mac9641 hahah looks like little mac got scared, its ok little guy lol

  • @bio18logy Tell me, what exactly is your doctorate in? You don't speak like a PhD holder (or a medical doctor), ie. your ridiculous abbreviations, your 'juvenile' use of curse words and your commencement of sentences with the word "and". An academic would never assume the ignorance of another; as an academic myself I am surrounded by "doctors" and do not find the prefix particularly endowing (one of the lower level qualifications required of academic staff). So I reiterate, "mate", grow up.

  • @matthewhenson1 a medical doctor to be exact mate, im 25 years old and just finished 13 days ago, regardless of my extensive education, most 25 year olds do speak like this, and oh, sir, please excuse my lack of grammar and punctuation on this highly formal document. Out of curiosity what qualifies you as an academic? so i reiterate, go fuck yourself

  • he took that one straight from john cassevetes

  • It's kinda ironic really...this band to me are the ULTIMATE band to go nuts to. Look at Cedric on stage for fucks sake, and he expects the crowd to just jump up and down? If you don't wanna get involved with the "slam dancing" and the crowd surfing then stay back from the front. keep a nice safe distance from the front so you can enjoy the show without getting hurt and let the people who wanna go fucking nuts, go nuts...

  • that was great

  • what a fucking faggot, i cant stand this motherfucker. I love ATDI and mars volta, but i cannot fucking stand cedric, great singer, piece of shit human being, let people do what the fuck they wont and leave it along. i hate poeple that try sooo hard to be original

  • @bio18logy How is he a 'piece of shit human being' for trying to get the crowd to show a bit of humanity and stop their juvenile antics? I'm all for civil liberty but letting people 'do what the fuck they wont' (learn to speak English properly) is only alright until someone else's health/life is put at risk. Grow up mate xx

  • @matthewhenson1 the fuck up, kinda like you

  • "what a fag"

I'm.... speechless. I do hope this "jung" writes back, because I am insanely curious as to why you would insult someone who's trying to make sure everyone is safe and not getting beat up by degenerates who won't let anyone have a good time.

Do you not know some poor girl was stomped on and died the same day this fag was telling everybody stop their bullshit? There's a reason this guy was getting on the crowds ass, and theirs no denying that that reason is people like you.

  • its good that he did this because a girl was later killed in a limp bizkit show later that day at the drive in set the example of hat should be done

  • a girl died on this day during the limp bizkit set. this was in austrailia when they were with at the drive-in. sorry i just said the same thing as you mehmeh.

  • boring trendy music? at the drive-in orly?

  • @snOwBL1nD I think its a very very sad day when the only way you can express yourself is to abuse people in youtube comments :(

  • you just ripped off what omar said verbatim about slam dancing....except you inserted abuse people instead

  • that was the joke you fucking idiot

  • Because some one sent it to me fag.

  • SUUURRREE lol

  • yup. It was pretty funny how good he is at being a farm animal.

  • @Lexie2075 I don't really get how their music is trendy or boring. That just sounds stupid. You don't have to like it but at least admit it's definitely not trendy, especially around the time they were making it. And there is definitely nothing boring about an ATD-I performance.

  • @pageseventyfive

Why should I admit to some thing I know is a lie? It's trendy and boring. End of story.

  • @Lexie2075 ur just one dumb bitch. u obviously dont know shit about music. go listen to paramore, u fucken tool.

  • @autorelocater

Paramore > this. And I have an extreme dislike for paramore. Please come back when you listen to some thing with a bit more depth, and have a response that is actually worth some merit.

    you guys all sooo mad.

  • @Lexie2075 ur just a jackass. i bet ur sum dumb hipster girl that thinks she "knows" music.

  • @Lexie2075 Whoever throws out that "u mad" bullshit is just too retarded to think of a decent argument. Go fuck yourself.

  • @Lexie2075 then why did you look this up?...OH let me guess? YOU ARE A FUCKING TROLL WHO SUCKS

  • I fucking love this video. He tells it exactly like it is. Literally saying "you don't think for yourself, and you don't even know it"

  • Totally agree! it's like they just do what the mainstream meat-ball of people does.

  • This guy kinda makes me mad. Part of the experience of shows is what happens in the crowd. He might not like it, but the audience has an energy and a character all to itself. Let the crowd be what they collectively will be and focus on the music you are making.

  • yea but a chick died from everyone going to spastic in the crowd that same day. you can have rough moshing but apparently some of the shit that was happening was way to violent

  • he's doing the right thing, the crowd is their responsibility, and if someone gets injured (or dies...) they're liable.

  • whose responsibility? the band? i think you're mistaken....did limp bizkit get held responsible when that chick died? don't think so

  • my answer to that is, At the drive in aren't douchebags, to be honest i don't even remember what i said originally

  • fred durst apparently motivated the crowd to mosh, sooooo...even though they werent held responsible, that doesnt mean it ISNT their fault. who the hell defends limp bizkit? lol

  • What does Cedric throw into the air at 0:08?

  • He is changing the idea of concert going. Moshing and shit makes people not want to go to concerts, and that is bad for the band. Nobody moshed at Beethoven or Mozart's symphonies. Nobody moshed at Pink Floyd concerts as far as I know. So what makes you think it's ok to mosh at their concerts? Because some asshole years ago decided to hit the people next to him because he was so excited from listening to his favorite music? That's stupid. Dancing is way more fun than fighting.

  • i do think that is true.....but it is different to each different kind a music.....if u look at lamb of god and bands like that then u see it is going like crazy and that with a concert of things like coldplay it goes without mosh and gentle...

but it is a choise you make at a concert...at the festival i had some times that i want to jump in and jump around and pushing (and there is a spot where people keep doing it) but as soon people come who are hitting people then ofcoars il leave..

  • But the thing about heavy bands like that is, they WANT you to go crazy at their shows. If the band respectfully askes you NOT to do that during their time on stage, then you should respect that. They are asking for a respectful, clean audience. I recently seen The Mars Volta in concert, and they asked the crowd not to do that stuff before the show started, they even repeated it in Spanish.

  • if bands ask people not to it then they should respect that...its there show

  • Exactly my point. :)

  • i wish he would have done this or something simliar at the show i went to..the brought the pit to the fucking front row and i almost had to throw down with some drunk guy to secure my gate spot..i hate moshing..really..go to a hardcore show..i just want to listen to the musical genious that is tmv

  • i had the same experience here in sydney a few nights ago, im sure theres a time and a place for moshing, getting fucked off ur face, etc, but tmv is not the place

  • exactly..i'm like drunk fuck get off me..im tryin to blaze and chill to the tunes..

  • this is before tmv. at the drive in. this was in austrailia. during a tour in 2001.

  • its all good aye

  • I just think it's bullshit that he's trying to tell the crowd what they can and can't do. Doesn't he like that they dig his sound and are moving to their music? Believe me, I'm a huge Mars Volta fan and I'm not making a comment to totally bash Cedric, but what I'm sayin is, if I were him I would be like, "hell yeah, express yourselves, whatever!"

  • I think it's bullshit that people can't contain themselves at concerts. He was promoting a sophisticated event, not a bar brawl. They don't care if you move to the music, they just would rather have you dancing rather than moshing. They say so at the beginning of every show. They don't consider ramming into someone as "experssing yourself."

I can assure you a 100% that they don't give a flying fuck about what the fans think. They aren't afraid to gain new fans and lose old ones.

  • It's not about telling them what they can and cannot do. It's about common courtesy towards others. There are times and shows where it's appropriate, but a majority of the time it isn't. Large shows like that are rarely the appropriate place, as people get dragged into it when they don't want to. People feel like they can do whatever they want, but I doubt they would do that knowing someone like Ian MacKaye would call them out, then refund and kick them out. You have to respect others.

  • But moshing is fun...

  • actually, that was funny: "I have a microphone and you don't!"

  • i think he says "white" but i think he means they're acting like typical "white" kids, doing their stupid moshing crap.

if he meant to ask if they were mostly white, he would've said something like "are you predominantly white people?"

  • seems silly that you can't stand close to the stage to see a band perform without having some fuckwit bump into you every few seconds. just because you jump around like a maniac doesn't mean you are enjoying it anymore than anyone else.

  • he's got a point, if you want to mash go see lamb of god, slipknot, converge,

the band would feel shitty if someone died at a concert because of that, they create music for us to enjoy

  • yeah i think some people don't know when it is appropriate to hardcore dance. Well i take that back it's never appropriate to hardcore dance. But theres times for it and theres times to chill out, how can you even slam dance to the mars volta?

  • "Whether Cedric was on drugs during this performance has been debated."

Hahahahaha... by who? read his interviews, he's pretty open about the fact that during the final At the Drive-In tour, he and Omar were doing crack and opiates pretty much the entire time.

And yes, he says "white." "Wise" doesn't even make any fucking sense in that context.

  • Didn't they decide that 'moshing' was okay after they formed the Mars Volta? I saw them at an early gig and Cedric didn't say a word about it that I remember, although it was a pretty small venue. Sounds like he's losing his mind here, probably pissed the rest of the band off no end, although in light of what happened later in the day he was remarkably justified. I'm a big guy and I got pretty scared in the pit at big festivals sometimes.

  • FEARLESS!

    lmfao!

  • haha this is funny as hell...so true too! moshing is retarded and i have always hated it...just sit there and enjoy the music without punching someone in the face

  • That's just how some people enjoy the music, myself included. Plus there is rarely any punching in mosh pits anyway.

  • p.s love this band

  • ahhah you have a microphone i and i dont, that makes me a sheep........you get 100 people that dance like cedric and put them in the same room dancing together...its gonn look like slam dancing....tough shit

  • even him sounding like a sheep is trippy lol

  • haha sooo funny :D and sooo true

  • hehe he's obviously on drugs here, but he speaks the truth.

  • gah....white people are so typically.

  • So typically what?

  • rich faggot white kids (...the crowd...)

  • yea i know lol

  • ROFL!

    He's totally right, though.

  • There's a difference between having fun and getting pushed around a little because you're in the middle of a crowd and just straight up beating the shit out of another person to music --- just fucking stupid. They stated in the beginning not to do it, warned about it in the middle, and fucking morons kept on doing it. Anyone who thinks tackling, kicking, or punching people at concerts is justifiable in any way is a fucking moron.

  • hahahaha

  • wtf. if you're gonna be in a crowd at a gig, you'd expect to be pushed around a little, and if the band has good exciting music, you'd expect to be pushed around a lot. and if you dont wanna most then get out of the pit.

only crap bands dont get a decent crowd worked up.... he's practically saying 'don't have fun, we're crap'

i appreciate he wants everyone to be safe, but insulting all the fans that have come to see you is just low.

  • He doesn't want ppl to do it because in todays society no one learns how to slam dance by going to concerts like he had done (back in the day) Ppl learned it by watching MTV and VH1 They want to keep their originallity and not have ppl by controlled (sheep) of the media.

  • at the drive in is not crap.

...and if they are, that shit smells like roses.

  • no cedric is right all you little "cool kids" who think "throwing down in the pit" is cool your just little followers who are not brave enough to think for yourself you're afraid your friends might think your lame if you (God forbid) did something you wanted to do.

"You are sheep" - Cedric Bixler Zavala

  • It's fine to be against violence in the crowd, but to berate the entire audience because of what some of them are doing... and to ask "are you all typically white people?" Acting like he was loaded...

  • you know some chick died the very next set in a mosh pit from asphyxiation right?

  • I love him for saying that he is THE MAN!!!

  • baahhh

  • he shut em up that takes balls

  • I have nothing against slam dancing or moshing but I respect the fact that ATDI dont like it because people get hurt. And if they dont want people slam dancing at their shows I dont mind at all. But, how can you not when the band and cedric are just going apeshit and dancing around all over the stage! Theirs just to much energy!

  • Comment removed

  • that was their last show wasnt it?

  • yep

  • He has a good point, but I'd be mega pissed off if the band i wanted to see refused to play

  • cedric is awesome. takes balls to say that to a whole crowd

  • balls and a lot of pot

  • True, and he is awesome - the fact that ATDI were against slam dancing is applaudable. However I would say u don't pay money to go to a gig to be insulted and he was over the line with the sheep bit.

  • Wasnt this the BDO where that girl died watching Limp Bizkit?

  • Yes.

  • this in not hardcore/punk. it's a litle bit more complex music to listen to... so i think people moshing cannot follow the music and so they move without any sense.

slamdancing is ok but there's time and music to dance.

mozart is not good to dance, but this doesn't mean mozart is shit or dance is not good...

  • this is a pointless comment, but:

    I AGREE WITH YOU 100%

  • fair enough, he is looking out for the safety of the crowd, but at the drive in's music and live performance here definately insist on moshing, so no matter how much they tell the crowd to calm down i don't think it would've helped also throwing mic stands and playing your instruments violented can't help too much either....

    good band though haha

  • If you think about it, If they took their ideals from Fugazi, and Fugazi's vocalist was Ian McKaye and he was in Minor Threat...Who played with Black flag...Cedric was kinda stupid here saying slam dancing is bad o.0

  • i like cedric but this i found to be a stupid comment on his fans

  • slam dancing is great! is the better way to express the punk/hardcore feelings

  • cedric is a tool

u watch tv way too much hurf durf hurrrrrrrrr
