  • Sorry if I'm reposting this, but my previous comment with a link to the bill isn't showing for some reason.

Why are we setting the deductible limit at $2,000 for the minimum acceptable plan? The higher deductible plans will still cover against $5M surgeries and they cost far less.

To bring down costs, we need to get more uninsured people into high deductible plans and provide incentives.

  • America is the only industrialized country that allows 10s of thousands to die and hundreds of thousands to bankrupt because they dont have health insurance. This is devastating for the families that are affected and bad for America in general. The only reason this brutish unscrupulous condition exists in America is because of the hatred and distrust of the government perpetrated by the republicans. The republican party survives by spreading deception and lies to inflame hatred and ignorance

  • Yeah the socialized countries of the world just let them die in the waiting room wishing they had access to healthcare. But they can die happy in your mind since their trip to the waiting room was paid for by their neighbors.

  • Ever notice how the repetition of choice words creates enthusiasm in simple minded people?

  • We MUST have the Public Option!!!

    We must!!!!

  • I agree, under certain conditions.

  • What conditions

  • We MUST NOT have the public option!!!!!

  • Well, it looks like we're going to have one after all

    BROKEN PROMISES BY OBAMA

    "Allow drug importation"

The obama administration secretly conceded to forgo the importation of cheaper drugs in its deal with the pharmaceutical industry that is noted in his deal with Tauzin, the Chief Pharmaceutical Lobbyist!

  • CBS NEWS

    BROKEN PROMISES BY OBAMA

"The Government to negotiate drug prices"

obama.."We'll negotiate with the drug companies for the cheapest available price on drugs"

    LA Times

"Tauzin (Chief Pharmaceutical LOBBYIST) secured an agreement with OBAMA!

"In return for pledging $80 billion in cost savings over 10 years, the OBAMA administration has promised to BACK OFF FROM PRICE-SETTING on the Medicare Part D drug program as well as from importing cheaper drugs from Canada or Europe!"

  • Health Insurance Lobby = The new boogeyman.

    Everybody is so fucking dumb

  • It's simple: health care that is humane vs. health care that is cruel and arbitrary. The Republicans are in league with the insurance industry, who want the status quo; because the status quo continues to maximize their profits at the expense of people who need medical care.

  • That is simply not true. Blaming the insurance companies for the high cost of health care is like blaming car insurance companies for the high cost of auto repair.

  • You're still buying that nonesense???? How high are your premiums!!!!!!

  • call 'em out and let them know the truth about the government healthcare takeover! It will result in higher costs and less service. Sure everyone will have coverage maybe, but they'll be dying in the waiting rooms for lack of service.

  • The President has consistently lied about this reform from the the beginning. He has never wanted to work with Republicans. He is practicing the old Clinton strategy of "triangulation" by not really put out a plan himself. He can pretend that none of it is his plan, and yet take credit when something is passed.

  • triangulation FOR 8 LONG YEARS BY THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION.

    FEEL THE KARMA.

  • Yeah, let us blame President Bush.

  • The only reason that President Obama has ever deviated from the plan that he wants is because he's trying to work with the republicants, which is a waste of time. The republicants are bought and paid for. They will fight for the benefit of the insurance lobbiest that pay them and against anything that President Obama wants to do without thought or reason. The republicants appeal to the ignorant by spreading hate and content for the government. The only way to beat them is to educate the ignorant

  • He's not trying to work with anyone he's trying to save face. He has put so much of his political worth on healthcare that you can be certain we will have healthcare legislation and it will be heralded in the news as a great achievement even if that legislation is a blank bill titled Health Care Legislation. He's had to back off of most of the things he was pushing for such as single payer or public option.

  • That's true but once we get that bill and is signed into law, good things will be repealed and added as time goes by. Just getting rid of pre-existing is a win for me.

  • Do you understand why insurance companies exclude pre-existing conditions?

  • Well let's see. A four month old was denied because he was to fat which was not true, A 4 mounth Old????? A woman I know was denied when pregnant because she had a previous child so they called that a pre- existing. Give me a break That's just insane. There will be no more pre-exixting conditions ever again

  • Would you be willing to take on an unlimited obligation for the limited payment?

  • I don't understand what your asking me but I can tell you this. I wouldn't mind paying a monthly tax, premium, fee dor whatever to get total health care for all.

It's better then paying 800 dollars a month premiums plus deductible, plus being sure if you'll even be covered if they decise to drop you.

  • My point was simply that the reform package will eliminate private insurance. You might change your mind when you cannot get in to see a doctor with your government insurance card.

  • BS. Sensible reform will not eliminate private insurance. We need to find a way to eliminate the free rider problem and encourage people to sign up for insurance against unforseeable events/conditions.

  • I was referring to THIS reform that the President is proposing. It will eliminate private insurance for most people in time. That is exactly what it is designed to do.

  • BS. The reform is designed to lower health care premiums for the people who are currently paying them. It may have unintended consequences, but arguing that this is some huge conspiracy puts you in the same league as the Birthers.

  • You cannot honestly believe that the government is going to bring down healthcare premiums. Tell me, would you take on an unlimited obligation for a limited payment?

  • Hey I can't get into see my doctor now. What this is is Medicare for all, Go right ahead a keep your high priced insurance who will dump you the mniute you get sick

  • Did you know that health ins. was once non profit? That's when everyone could afford it. The bottom line here is that is immoral to deny any healthcare

  • Again, you are focused on insurance, not healthcare. They are not the same thing. It is the cost of healthcare that drives up the price of health insurance.

  • Even if we outlaw discriminating against pre-existing conditions, that doesn't eliminate washout periods. Pregnancies will still uncovered, even with this change.

Pregnancy is an expensive condition to cover. Why shouldn't insurers exclude prenatal care for 9 months after a new policy is issued? On the flip side, why would anyone carry insurance when they aren't pregnant or sick?

  • Con't.... The only reason for the pre-existing conditions exists is so the insurance companies hold onto their money. Be damed if effects a life

  • If we completely remove consideration of pre-existing conditions, then it encourages people to go without insurance until they need it. Is that the solution that you want? How do you think that will affect policy prices?

  • What about "pre-existing" conditions that are the patients fault? Obesity, acquired diabetes, liver failure, etc. Should healthy people pay for those costs?

  • Look you've lost this argument. Looks like we're going to get the public option also. So don't worry you'll be fine.

    BROKEN PROMISES BY OBAMA

"NO individual mandate to buy health insurance!"

    Jan. 31, 2008...

obama... "I think we can anticipate that there would be people potentially who are not covered & are actually HURT if they have ***a mandate imposed*** on them."

    In June 2009...

obama indicated in a letter to Kennedy & Sen. Max Baucus that he was changing his tune to ***accommodate Congress*** on the proposed bills that CALL for an ***individual mandates***!

  • look at all the thumbs down you got for merely providing quotes from the liar in chief. Reality really upsets these people.

  • Shooter

Just think.. how angry would YOU be if you found out the guy you supported was a liar???

But they'd rather kill off the messenger rather than the message itself!

Problem is the report is from CBS NEWS.. one of the obamer news outlets.. and NOT from FOX.. so they can once again blame their OWN party's supporters!

But then again... there are some that'll "blindly" follow the "leader" regardless of the facts!

"HOW FORTUNATE FOR LEADERS THAT MEN DO NOT THINK!"

    BROKEN PROMISES BY OBAMA

"LOWER PREMIUMS by $2,500 for a Family of Four" ????

"If you've got health insurance through your employer, you can keep your health insurance, keep your choice of doctor, keep your plan," obama said on 10-15-08 debate against McCain.

"The only thing we're going to try to do is lower costs so that those cost savings are passed onto you.

And we estimate we can ***CUT***the average family's premium by about $2,500 per year."

  • The Republican Party, pretend Dems and corporate media have a beating coming to them. They've earned it.

  • Every once in a while, you'd wish for a China-style justice for the Republicans (and shill Democrats feigning Progressive stances) pulling this shit:

the wall of a soccer stadium... and a gun

  • Wow, careful for what you think you are wishing for

  • Call 'Em Out, Call 'Em Out, Call 'Em Out, Call 'Em Out

  • Amen! If we only did this years ago!

  • The soviets did it years ago, if you like the idea so much why don't you move to the Soviet Union?

  • How about you mind your own business. We should have CALLED people out years ago instead of letting the corporations control our fucking country! That's what you get for just jumping in a conversation that you had no business jumping in. How about let the adults talk, huh?

  • Listen asslicker when and your dear leader want to vote in an unconstitutional socialistic plan that will destroy my healthcare industry it is my business. It's the governmental fuckups and you socialists that have healthcare screwed up so bad now with medicare, medicaid, and screwy tax benefits for some health insurance but not others. Fool!

  • Hey monkey, do you want to use proper english? lol

  • Given that it was a reply to your ignorant comment I thought I would use words that even a moron such as yourself might be able to understand.

  • It's the murderous blood suckers in the insurance industry that doubled my rates when I got sick and forced me off of coverage. It's the murder for profit insurance industry that told my cousin they couldn't help her anymore when she wanted to continue to fight her lung cancer. We don't have capitalism in this country; we have corporatism. Corporations want government involvement, but only to their benefit . Republican leaders said they want mandates. That's government making you buy it?
