exactly what I was looking for, thanks so much! I can never get enough of this song, i think it's the best song the Who made after Moon died. Now, if I only I could somehow play pete's amazing solos to this...
oh there are other great things too, how about literal music videos. those are cool too. but this gives you the uncluttered attention to detail to listen or practice. awesome!
Is there any chance on getting an isolated guitar version of this, with or without the keyboard/synthesizer in the background? I've always wanted to get ahold of a nice clean vocal free version of this...
The "synth" on this cut is actually a Yamaha E70 organ. There are a number of E70 demos on YouTube. The E70 apparently shared some circuit designs with the Yamaha CS80 synthesizer.
I spent HOURS many years ago trying to edit my own version to use with my band of this. Thank you so much for posting this. Townshend's genius always shines and to be able to break down the parts on some of The Who's classics is just an awesome awesome treat! Thanks again!
even after listening to these guys ad naseum for 27 years, this puts a new spin on things and is like listening to a brand new song, and like the caller said above hilites pete's compositional genious (and makes a man want to drink schlitz beer lol...)
Reupload the .Wav, megaupload is gone ):

I just put this together with the isolated bass, SO AWESOME!! Some how I managed to get it lined up just right, and it sounds AMAZING!

I like the "less is more" approach that Entwistle used on the bass line, in this song it is ideal.
