KIND of goes into pop? She's ALL POP. Not to be mean but you really have no idea what real country music is all about. No, I mean REAL country music, the way it was meant to be. Not to worry though; I didn't either until relatively recently. I'm just saying; we need to set the record straight here. It's people like Taylor and Carrie that are destroying modern day country music.
Go listen to "Nashville's Gone Hollywood" by Heather Myles...that song is an excellent example of what I mean.

Try listening to stuff like Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, Ernest Tubb, Waylon Jennings, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, George Jones, George Strait, Tracy Lawrence, John Anderson, Jamey Johnson, Heather Myles, Sunny Sweeney, The Oak Ridge Boys, The Statler Brothers--just to name a few. These folks are what REAL country is all about, complete with plenty of fiddle and steel guitar. They don't have the poppy crap sound that today's artists have.

Hm, wow. What to say to this one...well first off, if you think they all sound like crap, then you don't like real country music. Which is fine; you don't have to like it. And by "what today's society wants" is the result of the music industry catering to today's youth and convincing them the poppy sounding music is good so they can sell more albums and make more money. And I'm pretty sure all of them have been on tour beyond 1972, and most have toured this decade. Shows how much you know.

That CMT award is pure bullcrap. She doesn't deserve ANY award whatsoever that has anything to do with country music. Those are reserved for country artists, not pop stars.
But then again, CMT has been degenerating along with modern day country music, and is in fact part of the cause of country music's destruction. So that's really not surprising considering.
