This is some footage I found of Vallencant and Baud. Interesting to see it turning up here. I thought the lyrics were kind of appropriate "they left their land, their fields of flowers... a little closer to the stars" were appropriate. I wish I could find some more of Vallencant, he took quite a lot of film but it must be sitting in a attic somewhere.

Nice video. Amazing terrain they were skiing and on those savage slippers called Scott boots, and bindings with no real heel. Damn.

Back then they climbed the route they skied. Patrick Vallencant was arguably the greatest among many great extreme skiers.
