Why does China keep on calling Tibet an Internal Matter? When it has been established that Tibet was an independent nation, falling outside the Great Wall of China, then Tibet is a FOREIGN COUNTRY and NOT AN INTERNAL MATTER of China.

Can the US, by the same token, say that Iraq and Afghanistan are US's internal matters now because the US has control over their territories? NO. Same way, China cannot just capture some territory, behead all the inhabitants there and call it an INTERNAL MATTER.

Actually, tourist photos show that most of the destructive acts on Mar. 14 involved emptying out shops of commercial goods, and burning them in the street. Though buildings were also torched (and deplorably, people died in them), the MAJORITY of acts were of goods destruction rather than attacks on people.

The monks did not do these things, roving gangs of "youths" did. Some of the rioters are now identified as disguised Chinese police. We know they also instigated arson and looting in 1989.

A Thai lady who was living in Lhasa identified a Lhasa policeman she SAW coming into the station during the riot, put down his machete and change from Tibetan clothes back into his uniform. She recognised him in a photo distributed to media by Chinese embassies. He was "outed" at a D'sala rally on Mar 17.

Other witnesses reported seeing PLA donning monks' robes during the unrest (nothing to do with that old photo of PLA actor / monks). A Chinese journalist documented the same tactic in 1989.

kkay: Look dumb**s, pay attention. Monks of Drepung, Sera and Ganden made processions for four days before the Lhasa youth riots Mar.14. Monks, nuns and laypeople have been making peaceful marches all across eastern Tibet ever since, until today.

At least one "rioter" on Mar. 14 was a policeman. People have reported seeing other security forces ON THAT DAY, changing into Tibetan clothes.

The monks and others shot by Chinese forces,including Apr.3&5 in Sichuan, were NOT violent.

The Party is as devious as it always has been, when it comes to protecting its divine right to rule. They couldn't openly slaughter monks in Lhasa, so they did it out in the eastern plateau.

Lots from Sera and Drepung were arrested during the first days (when their processions were vocal and peaceful). Rumours in Lhasa that some had already been killed behind closed doors, made a lot of people real angry.

Now the monks are sealed inside Sera etc no food or water allowed in, starving.
