Pure class. Seen them in glasgow in december and thats the 2nd time. 1st time was back in 96 and they are better now than they have ever been. I always wonder why they never got the recognition they deserved!
Superb song from the great 'Strange Kind Of Love' LP. I got into them in 1988 and that LP is timeless and brings back fond memories. I love 'Dogs In The Traffic' too. James is a great singer and fantastic guitarist!
The best song from a songwriting genius... performed beautifully. But not only is he a great writer he also has a unique and haunting voice and yes.... he is one of the best guitarists you will hear... in fact the solos in the concert and the one in Glasgow are all sublime with a great mixture of melody, distortion and downright exemplary phrasing.... Overall a bit of a god then! Why oh why were L&M not an enormous act... travesty!
@CameoWalkin -Yes! is the fantastic James Grant-voice and guitar and Gordon Wilson-drummer,Paul McGeechan-keyboards,Bobby Paterson-bassist,Douglas McIntyre-guitar;even now, both as a soloist with the recent reunion of the group, has a charm exorbitant i am almost 30years making music, but the weather has saved an you see/hear.47years with a beautiful voice that never foils to excite,as his lyrics.Great band!!!
I was lucky enough to see this amazing band in my hometown of Birmingham in the early 90's, can't believe they never really made it that big, they deserved superstardom. Enjoying listening to 'My tortured soul' James Grant.
I was at this concert - the band was absolutely brilliant - but some Highland idiot launched a beer glass at them halfway through - spoiled the atmosphere a bit.
I hope there's tickets left, as I've introduced this man to so many people. I never seen this advertised anywhere recently...snowed in at the moment too :-(
ir a un concierto de L&M obviamente es imposible, pero lo que daría por tener un video de uno al menos :S ¡qué maravilla este shape of things to come! jamás lo escuché en directo, y esto impresionado.
Eden Court Theatre Inverness late 85 or early 86. BBC recorded 5 nights of concerts, different band each night. I was somewhere around the 10th row. Magic.
James Grants lead guitar playing could have seen him in any metal band, but with that sublime voice & those awesome lyrics he did this instead, and we're so glad he did - Just pure fkn brilliance...
This band touches the inner depth of my soul. I must be one of the rare Americans with a soul because they failed miserably here. How can anyone who has experienced true life not appreciate this music. Unbelievable band.
...I broke my heart to this album and this song in particular... I fell madly in love with a beautiful girl who, I knew in my heart would never be mine ultimately...We used to listen to this over and over...
It hurt so much, that I have not been able to listen to this song until today - 20 years on!
An ultimate moment, ultimate band and raw, raw emotion...
What a find! Many thanks for posting this. I had the live performance of this from Glasgow School of Art on MP3 but this is different... Prodigiously talented in all departments but it's JG's guitar which gets me... For me Strange Kind of Love is the best album but they are all excellent and I only wish they were still around...sadly bassist Bobby McGeechan died last year but what a legacy to leave... Glasgow strikes again!
Yeah Grant and I think the bass player came from Friends Again and Hipsway. You now know what you've been missing for 22 years. Grant's a magic singer/songwriter/guitarist. As to which of all their LPs is the best I think that it's a close thing between the 1st and 2cd. Try Grant's solo stuff too.
...just stumbled over this one---pleasant surprise--never heard of these guys before---good singer also plays lyrical leads with excellent tone--good blues ballad--sound quality is superb for you tube.......
I was at this! brilliant band :))

Love and Money were such an underrated band ! James Grant still records and tours and plays some of the old Love and Money songs.
TFF are not in the same class IMHO !!!!!
Why on earth did bands like this never really 'make it' ????? No justice !!!!
