and yet one more version that I had to include because it is a tribute to one of San Francisco's most influential personalities. No matter how anyone feels about Bill Graham, the San Francisco music scene could never have become what it did without him!!!!!!!! RIP Bill you will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh My! That B&W footage a couple of minutes into the film is quite a rare thing. I believe that it's footage of the first fund raiser in Candlestick Park that Bill organized to benefit the S.F. Mime Troupe--1965. That's how he just sort of wandered into events promotion, found that he liked it and had a knack for it, and the rest, as they say, is history.
I see B&W footage of the S.F. Mine Troupe in Golden Gate Park & Bill's first fund raiser for them was at The Fillmore. I was a local kid at the time. Bill sure gave us many Great shows but he didn't do any at The Stick till much later. Great seeing events & posters from shows I was at & this is some Good old Grateful Dead-Thanks!
The Formatting is off. It's a Widescreen film, similar in style to Woodstock, and has the screen broken up into two or three blocks. Have this on VHS and trying to get it up on YT. Hope. Amazing film.
