@ford351mod if you live in a state that allows them you can get a pre 86 nfa registered machinegun through the nfa these are expensive as hel as no new 1s are allowed after 86 but an ar your talking about $16000, the other option is to get an ffl either class 2 or 3 then you can get demo guns, you can aslo get pre 86 dealer samples whcih if you give up your licenece you can keep, demo guns have to be surrended, pre 86 samples are about half the price of normal pre 86s's

The point is that for semi auto use you probably will never wear it out.

@TheIronKeel Im not sure about misdemeanor laws and firearms in Arizona. But at a federal level you are only barred from owning a firearm if you have a felony or greater. Misdemeanors are usually not an issue. However drug charges depending on the severity may hinder legally purchasing one. It really just depends on what your state laws regarding drug convictions in a specific state. If I took a shot at it minor possession without intent would likely be a non issue in most states.
