I saw this in a music class as a kid. We had to split the movie into different meetings (IIRC, it was a once-a-week class or something in, like, the 2nd grade)... Anyway, it seems like it was weeks and weeks before we got to watch the end of the movie. I felt a lot better once I finally got to see the part where she got her colors back.
