  • The Chameleons definitely took from this song.

  • Orbs!! lol

  • Hey man I watch a lot of your vids, and you get some cool tones with the Flextones!, mind sharing some of your favorite settings? Been wanting to use mine for the small shows with no room for a stack. Thanks!, Steve

  • i lov your les paul !! and you got pink floyd sound !! good job

  • WHAT THE HEll? You see those orbs floating at :14???????

  • @BRANSCOMBEx LOOL i laughed so hard at your comment hahahah thanks for a good laugh rofl reminded me of aliens or something idk haha

  • i see a ghost....within the first 6 sec...ther little orbs

  • @zboyz1 that was just a reflection from the knobs on the guitar lol but good eye

  • idk how to say it but it sounds too twangy at parts maybe its the camera

  • awesome colour of guitar

  • nice poster of Pink Floyd at the top left ! ;-)

  • I just got the same guitar you are using and am going to change the pickups to some dimarzios and put seymour duncan triple shot pickup ring to split the coils and do series and parallel.

Thanks for inspiring me to get this guitar!

  • Nice one. enjoy.

I have a similar setup on own of my guitars, provides very versatile tones.

Upgrading the pickups makes a huge difference to these guitars

  • yo i been checking you out for a long time!!

    under different username.

    check out my acoustics

    btw, 100,00 views :)

  • Dude, that was AWESOME!!

  • such a good song, you played it greatly

  • Cool man!

  • sounds pretty good,

little hint though, u got one of the nicest epi`s Les paul I ever seen; try to get the silver knobs from the gibson robtotune; then she`ll be perfect!

  • Thats a good call, thanks

  • is this the same delay settings The Edge uses for Where the streets? or is it similar

  • I'm not much of a delay user yet (mostly b/c I'm poor;)), but I think they both tend to use "dotted eight note" settings on their delays. So, assuming I'm right, the answer is yes:P:)

  • That's a hell of a pretty finish on your guitar.

  • pink floyd

  • awesome. this song is so fun to play.

  • awesome omg

    you are a genious

  • dude im having problems getting

dotted eighth notes with my DD7

    any tips?

i have the seperate pedal to tap it in

  • RUN! RUN! RUN! hahaha

  • Sounds like the older U2 recordings. And that's a compliment!

  • well good! u look like jimmy from Foals

  • foda cara excelente vídeo!!

  • great job !

how did you get the dotted eighth note delay out of the dl-4?

i mean, the rythmic delay does not offer a dotted eighth note delay setting. it only has quarter notes up to sixteenth notes (+ triplets).

when im tapping it manual as a dotted eighth note i always have the fear to be not exactly in time and the delay isn't 100% correct.. .

  • I just tapped it in using the tap tempo function, works well on most tracks, but always that fear of not getting it 100% when playing live!

  • did you take the pickguard of the guitar?

  • Yup, I take the pickguards off all my LP's

  • kk i have the same colour/ model. Do you put the screws back in when u take them out?

  • I did yeh, it looks better that way

  • sounds good but not that good, u hav to use analog delay for this song

  • What settings did you use for this video? Love the sound!

  • No idea, one of the drawback of being able to save settings = after a few weeks u forgeth them!

Just tap a dotted eighth delay along to the bpm of the track.

  • Haha I know what you mean. Thanks for the advice though. I must say that I like your intro better than the original. Keep the videos coming!

  • nova delay or dl4

  • Nova

  • have u had any problems with de dl4..??? im reading on the line6 forum that many users are having problems with it.. have u had any and have u use it for gigging??

  • Never had any probs. been gigging with it for 2 years

  • How about the swtiches bro?

  • Never had any probs with those either. I have heard online its a common problem, but my unit has been well used in the last two years, still looks in mint condition and has never had any probs other than initally munching batteries! Alwasy use mains power!

  • THx m8. Still saving up tho :/

  • tht wasnt dust

  • was probs just reflection off something :)

  • dude!!! did anyone see the ghost orbs at :01-:17

  • ok the dl4 WILL SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME HOW U GET THE LOOP SAMPLER TO PLAY ON TIME everytime i record something even if its just one measure of something every time it plays over it like skips a second it cant play it over on time how do u get it to play it over an over again on time so i can practice solos on it

  • It just takes a little practice starting and stopping the record function in time. Try playing to a metronomeand presing the record button on the first beat of the bar.

  • run run run run!! cool

  • Beautiful guitar

  • YEAH MAN

    PINK FLOYD

    #1

  • grosooo, que concheto

  • I've found the pedal of Throw away your television. It's the Line 6 modeler (FM4) with obi-wah; and the phase shifter (Boss PH-3). It makes a really cool Sound!

  • Is this the pedal of throw away your television before solo?

  • no dude, that'd be the FM4 FM4. Unfortuantely, I've found that particular effect to be the only 'usable' effect of the FM4. I probably just need to let my imagination flow though. PM with suggestions for FM4 use though ^_^

  • im not sure really.. i know that john has this on his board but i think he uses it as a loop sampler mainly.

  • you could use a MOOG modular

  • awesome video bro! I was curious what your settings are within the rhythmic delay setting..i have been having trouble getting it precise. thanks man!

  • u are one crazy mamma jamma and we should go to a rave and rave it up in bunny suits

  • great vid, you wouldnt happen to know the shortest delay time on the dl4 do you?

  • Cheers man. I think its 60 milliseconds, but not sure.

  • thanks

  • damn what other high quality amps have you compared against the tremoverb? I thought about that or an orange. or i thought about a cool setup with 2 ac-30s both with the additional cab and stand ( it'd be pretty kickass) appreciate it

  • I use two heads in my setup, Tremoverb as my overdrive amp, but I use a vintage Hiwatt 100 Head as my clean channel. I have used my bandmtaes amps in comparison to mine, we have 3 guitarists. One uses a Mesa Boogie Roadking which is awesome. The other uses a Mesa Boogie Tri Axis Pre Amp and a 2:Ninety Power amp rack setup. Both of which sound amazing. I have used alongside the tremoverb a vintage Marshall JCM800 and another model of Hiwatt 100 head. I liek the Tremoverb, good heavy sound!

  • if you turn off the delay does the delay trail keep going

  • Yup it does indeed dude.

  • should just be a TAD bit more time between the delay

  • Yeh I was just messing around, play it too fast in this video.

  • yo anyone know what kind of guitar i should get if i mainly play reggae

  • anything with single coil pick ups... fender strat maybe?

  • I agree, Fender Strat or a Telecaster

  • whateveer you feel comfortable playing on, there's no definition of what you need in order to play certain music. However, if you're looking for a certain sound just check out what other people play on. Just don't limit yourself.

  • nice sound

  • wicked dude i wnt this one!!!!!!

  • RUN LIKE HELL! sweet... btw, is that a gibson robot guitar?

  • Nop it aint dude, its my backup guitar, its an Epiphone Les Paul Standard surprisingly!

  • could you do some examples of how radiohead use this petal?

  • hey men, hope u can help me, this is mi chain= wah+overdr+turvodriv+vivrat+flanger+delay, and my doubt is, I juts got a compression sustainer cs3, where should I place it in the chain? tanks

  • a compressor/sustainer should always be first in a pedal chain. so basically, put if before your wah.

  • As already said mate, right at the front of your setup!

  • Guitar-Filter/Wah-Compressor-OD + Distortion + Fuzz + Boost... i forgot the rest

  • My 18th birthday was yesterday, and for my present I ordered a Boss GT-6 from eBay. It will be shipped in a few days.

  • That sounded really cool

  • run by pink floyd right

  • no run like hell* cuz they have another song called on the run.

  • AWESOME PLAYING,AWESOME LES PAUL AND AWESOME BEARD! keep on rocking! :)

  • That sounded like some Pink Floyd song

  • RUN..:::...RUN..::..RUN....Awsome!!!

  • 10/10 mate....that was really really good.

  • nice guitar!

  • man, sounds great. I like th wicked blue les paul too. haha. its an epi?

  • Yeh its an Epiphone Les Paul Standard dude. I use it as my primary backup guitar, looks great for an Epi

  • i have that guitar its so nice. sounds freat

  • What?

  • He thinks you're playing Pink Floyd, because of the dotted 8ths. Clearly a knob who needs his ears checking.

  • Sounds awesome - great tone and a schweeet looking guitar :)

  • 5 stars

  • I have a question I was thinking about getting the line 6 echo park cause it was cheaper but do u think that this one is worth the extra money? thx for the vid

  • Very much so dude. It has loads more tones thn the echo park, and is effectivly 3 delay pedals as u can save 3 presets

  • is it possible to get the dotted 8th note delay sound with a gt-8 boss?

  • Should be dude. I used to use a GT6 alot and was able to ge the dotted eighth delay from that. The GT8 isnt that far removed from the GT6 so should be cool.

  • Hey dude

I just bought one and I have a question. Is it possible to power it off leaving the cables on?

  • Not to my knowledge dude. I leave the cables in mine but I run it off mains, as I do with all my pedals. You should look in2 doing the same, its VERY VERY power hungry, it eats up the batteries man!

  • Oh I see. Are you using an external power supply?

    Thanks for the answer!!

  • Yeh its a must dude!

  • I should buy one :))

    Thanks a lot dude

  • so easy a cave man could it... sorry i couldnt resist... but yeah that pedal looks awsome... thanks for the post

  • Hahah cheers

  • yo thats run like hell right?

  • yeah it is.. read discription

  • you own dude i have 1 question though.....how the hell can you afford all your amps n effects you have soooooooooo many stomps and midi foot controls n stuff its awesome lol

  • I work my ass off dude! Fulltime job as an Optometrist, plus one of my bands pays well.

  • your an eye doctor?

  • we aint called doctors in the UK....but yes afraid so.

  • you now what are is:P

  • What I did meen was: You now what art is:P

  • yo dude...i'm using the exact same Les paul....with the same color and everything....looks cool

  • that is nice

  • wow that was awesome.

    run like hell pink floyd?

  • Yeh dude. Slightly fast and probably slightly wrong version of Run Like Hell. Cheers

  • what do you think is better the DL4 or Boss's DD-7, also how much is the DL4 cost?

    much appreciated.

    thanks. :]

  • The DL4 is better than the DD-7 in my opinion, but isnt a fair contest really, better to compare the DD-20 to the DL4 (in that case I still prefer the DL4; but I prefer my TC Electronic Nova Delay over both of them). Just google the price dude its going to vary from country to country anyways, cheers

  • that's beautiful

  • this is the only pedal delay worthy buying. otherwise the idea of having a delay in a small box as this is just ridiculous

  • is the dl4 really worth buying is it that good, cause im contimplating if i should get it or not

  • Yup I would say so. I hav been using it for about 18months and have no complaints. I also use a TC Electronic Nova Delay which is also fantastic, you should check out both and see which one ticks all your boxes for a delay pedal.

Main issue with the DL4 is powering it. You really have to run it off a mains AC power supply, its very hungry and will munch batteries!!

  • I can't decide which pedal I like better - the Line 6 DL4 or the Boss DD-20

  • Look at the TC Electronic Nova Delay...I prder it to both the DL4 and the DD-20.

  • cool!

    cool man!!!

  • Did you combine the Line6 DL4 with anything else for rhythmic and modulation delays?

  • Its in the video description dude. Only other pedal I use in this video is a reverb.

In the modulation vid I think I have again a reverb and possibly a light chorus on.

  • I like the stuff you play; it sounds great. Keep it up!

I just got myself a DL4 and was curious if you could give me some feedback on what I've been doing with it, or just some feedback as a guitar player! Check my videos, it's the only one there. Thanks!

  • Yup no probs, sendt u an email dude.

  • I was on the line 6 website and people on their blog were saying that the DL4 wasn't very sturdy and that it broke down very quickly. It made me very hesitant to buy it.

Have you had any problems with the pedal or have you heard of anyone else having problems with it?

  • I have had alot of people ask me this online. I certainly havent had any problems with it in the 18months I have been using it, and it gets out and about alot at gigs and rehearsals. I havent heard anything from any other players I kno having problems with it either.

Look into the TC Electronic Nova Delay, I am using one of those aswell on my rig. I prefer the TC for most stuff.

  • gg, if there was ever ONE song that anyone would chose to play if given a freakin' delay pedal it would be run like hell, con gradu fckn lations m4x0rz111oneeoneone elevelntnalsdfjasdl;kfjasdklfja;dfklj !!!!1Jkl;j;klasf

    sad

    pwnd.

  • Eeeerm, thanks....I think, not sure what the end of your message is gettin at tho lol!

  • roflcaopterlamaoness

    just too drunk

  • Hey man i have Q Out of these delays what should i get i like them all but im really loving radiohead/incubus/sigur ros kind of sound which delay pedal should i get EHX DMM, Boss RE-20, Boss rv-3, or line 6 dl4 Please help ;(

  • None of them dude. I would and did buy the TC Electronic Nova Delay. I own a DD-3 and DL4 and have tried the rest. The TC Nova is the best from the bunch

  • I have that same guitar but with gold Hardware. :]

  • you kindof look like the singer of scary kids scaring kids haha keep it up

  • Finally someone plays the dotted 8th delay right, thank you! Every other tutorial people dont know how to use it.

  • is 8th dotted delay really hard to learn how to time properly? it seems kinda tricky to get down cuz if u mess up a little ur mistake is magnified by the repeat.

  • RUN! RUN! RUN! RUN!

  • I'm really thinking of getting a DL 4.

Hows the sound quality on those things?

  • Very good. I very much like this pedal, can get some interesting delay sounds from it.

  • Just got one. You can do a lot of cool shit with it.

  • If I had to choose to part with it or my guitar.... I'd buy another guitar

  • you better, run all day and run all night!!ruuun, ruuuun, ruuuun, ruuun

  • Cool sweater. I'm looking at getting one of those pedals for loops and the like. Liam Finn uses this one.

  • I'm looking at getting one of those sweaters

  • Just one question, in other video you say you're playing an Epihpone LP Standard? Is this an Epiphone LP or a Gibson LP?

  • Its an Epiphone dude, surprisngly. It looks and plays very well for the money.

  • VERY well played, fantastic sound, fantastic song and fantastic guitar (I love the colour!). Excellent!

  • Would you by any chance be able to post the settings on the DL4 that you used to get this? Or even something close? Thanks

  • what is the difference between delay and tremolo

  • Delay is a rather simple effect, but very useful and very versatile. For all intents and purposes, delay is an effect that merely produces repeats, or echos, of the guitar signal.

  • By adjusting the delay time (the length of time, usually measured in milliseconds between the sounding of the original signal and the sounding of the echo), the number of repeats (often called the "feedback"), and the mix of the dry (uneffected) signal with the echo, various effects, from a slight doubling to an infinte loop-type effect can be obtained

  • Tremolo is an effect available on a few amps, many multi-effects units, and also in pedal form. Tremolo creates a pulsing effect by continually varying the level of the signal. Usually, both the speed and the depth of the effect can be controlled.

  • Good job on a great underrated song.

  • best delay pedal ever!

  • Yeh similar delay setting and tone. This tune is on 'The Wall' its called 'Run Like Hell'

  • Hey awesome sounds.... can you post the settings of each knob ? that would be awesome of you if you did.. Thanks...

  • Recorded this vid ages ago so cant actually rememeber the exact settings off the top of my head. I will have a play around with the DL4 and write the settins down and post them at some point dude, cheers.

  • thanks

  • AWESOME! I WANT THIS DL4!

  • nice video, how does the line 6 compare to the big boss delay pedal?

  • I compared the two before I bought the DL4. They both have similar features, and bth hav features the other doesnt. I like the DL4, its has some cool options and huge variety of tones. The main advantage of the DD-20 is you can dial in an exact numerical delay time i.e 222ms. I wouldnt use that feature live and prefer to use the tap tempo on the DL4 to sync delays. Both are good pedals and you couldnt go wrong with either. Also check out the TC Electronic Nova Delay, similar price bracket

  • ohh yeah i see, thanks!

  • didnt mean to do that!

  • Hehe

  • can the dl4 make my telecaster sound like a less paul?

  • No. Its purely a delay pedal. Your best bet to make a Tele sound like an LP is to get some humbuckers fitted. Even then, the only way to truly get the sound of an LP is to play an LP.

  • nice man im thinkin about buyin one soon. im a huge Fan of The Fall Of Troy and love to play their music so this delay pedal would be perfect. nice playin 5/5.

  • I have the DL-4 and was wondering if you get the same problem i have which is the massive volume drop when the pedal is engaged in the FX loop?

  • Yeh i do, wouldnt say its a massive drop, but there is a dip. You could Keeley electronics modifiy yours, they have fixed that. It isnt a problem for me as I use Gig Rig Pro 14 controller which allows me to volume adjust all my effects. Check it out at gigrig dot com

  • could you do some tool for me, I'm th
