Don't bother trying to argue with idiots on the internet who look for political agenda in everything they see. This movie seems to be about overcoming true grief, something that certain posters obviously haven't experienced yet......YET. And when they do, they will realize how idiotic and insensitive they have been their entire, pathetic lives.
As I read through these comments I am appalled at those who think this video takes a political stance. I am one of the widows in this film and can assure everyone that we have NO political agenda. It is simply military widows sharing their stories in an effort to help other military widows find support in a new organization called the American Widow Project.
This is nonsense...the republican party has done great work to keep this type of media out of the public eye. We really don't care anymore. This is different than in the Vietnam war where we saw the dead everyday....
Men were brave enough to risk all. There were mistakes, but the soldiers did their job and succeeded while most who reap the benefits did little other than criticize. The world is a better place since now we see North Korea caving in and Iran's stance is softening as a result of their sacrifice. God bless you all. I made that same risk but I came out unscathed, at least physically.

Confusing political commitment with tabloid sentimentalism is not going to help your cause, people. (Is there a cause?) I feel for your loss, but there are many people who lose their loved ones. If you want to criticise this administration, do it from a political standpoint, not a private grief based one. This is emotional pornography obliterating what could be an articulate politcal stance. Your husbands knew they could die when they joined the military. And so did you.
why are you so insensitive? don't preface your comment with "i feel for your loss" as an attempt to ease your guilt before you start blaming them and politicizing their pain. just let it be what it is: young military widows trying to live again.
I agree with shimm3rs. Grief is a valid theme for a doco. Furthermore, demonstrating the emotional cost of war could evoke sympathy in an otherwise pro-war audience, thereby helping their cause (or at least the cause of others).
I reassure you as a US Marine veteran of OIF and someone who sees clearly both the pros and cons of our countries decisions, any content you find on IN THEIR BOOTS is politically neutral. We are not here to debate the wars. We are simply telling the stories of the people who are fighting them and the families and communities that support them. I invite you to take an unpolarized look at our site, our funding and the resources we offer. (look for part 2)
I believe if you give an honest listen to the words and expressions of these women, you would be hard pressed to find an ounce of partisanship. It is tough with the political atmosphere that we find ourselves in today, to intake anything at face value. Media savvy survival instincts demand scrutinizing everything's origin and trying to decipher each messages intended psychological impact. We're not pushing votes in either direction; we're giving you a window into a world that few know.
i havent seen the movie...but the trailer mentioned nothing about politics or the administration. you are the one equating politics/administration with this trailor.
I thought this was a movie since 'In Thier Boots' sounded like a war movie...

My heart goes out to all of you widows. My husband is in the Air Force but I still can't imagine what you all go through every day.
