Where exactly do you place the Decimator In and Out in your chain? If I place it this way: Mark IV effect send -> Decimator in -> Decimator out -> Insert Loop G-Sys Return I get a hissing sound. When I place befor the amp this way: G-Sys Insert Loop Send -> Decimator In -> Decimator Out -> Amp In it works fine. So I don't really understand your setup. Or is another way possible?
Great stuff, I was told to use TRS ends for the relay switching, do you know if that matters or does it have to be unbalanced in those inserts? I'll be running a G system into a Splawn Quick Rod. Thanks
I hope u can help me. I have a mesa mark v head and the g system, i have 2 problems; no1 the noise is too much for me, i can listen the noise under the notes when i playing, the decimator can do the right work for delete this type of noise??? No2 when i switch the channels of my head with the TC i can hear the clipping of the switch into my cab and this isn'tn good. What is your suggestions for these problems??? thank you very much and sorry for my english
Thanks for this video!! I've been thinking about buying the G-system and putting it into a rack like you've done. I absolutely love how you store the floorboard and attach it to the rack - portability is a big issue for me, and the more that I can consolidate my gear like this, the better!
Seeing this video has convinced me to put together an effects rack if I get the G-system.
Nice setup and video. You helped me a lot. I have a question. You say you have your g string wired in front before the gsys input and then back into the g string before the fx loop. Are you experiencing any effects trail cut offs from the noise gate? When I place my decimator in the fx loop my reverb trails and delay trails get cut off early. And do I need mono balanced cables for the insert loops? The only balanced cables I can find are stereo TRS cables? Thanks, - Richard
@Richy78100 Glad I could help. My delays trail off perfectly. They are not effected by the Decimator. It's being triggered by my guitar but gating the preamp send. The FX loop doesn't know it's there.
"Balanced" is the same as "stereo". Go ahead and use the TRS cables. They are nice and quite!

i have a 2 channel triple rectifier that has an external switching jack just like your mark iv but mine is just one jack(because its 2 channels). could i use that with the G system to switch channels?
Not at all. Set it and forget it!! I have since changed this rig to a rack mounted Mark IV!!! Usually, for the combo, any pots I pulled out i would push back in to be safe. Now with the rackmount, I never have to touch the amp.
The G system has the ability to control 4 relays, two in each jack. I have a stereo cable out on the 1st jack and into Rhy 1 and Rhy 2 on the Mark IV. Out of the 2nd jack, I have a stereo cable to the Lead and EQ jack.
Then choose a preset on the G system, Go into Edit mode and turn the encoder on LOOP 1 and watch the lights on your amp. Stop when only the light on the wanted channel is on. Repeat for LOOP 2 encoder. You can have 2 channels for every preset!!
... but the BB (or any other drive in loop1) is before the amp's input? what if I needed to put an external effect in loop 2 - would it also be pre? ie: can you assign the placement of the loops, pre vs FX loop?
All of the loops are before the amp's preamp; just where they should be. Think about what effect you would need post amp....they are all already in the G System! And all placed where they should be. Thanks, I love it!!

Thanks for the video. I am going to implement your rack storage ideas for the G-System.

can you explain how to connect the g-system to switch the MK iv channels?
