  • @SHIFFTY666 Just kidding on the "with a blunt in my fingers" or the "good mood" part? I hope it was the former, LOL!

  • @IGentry: Thanks, but it's none of the songs you mentioned!!!! He was very sucessful with this particular song in 1997!!! I don't know if that helps you!!!!!

  • @Holunder37 This could be one of the songs he performed with the Funkadelics or Parliament with George Clinton "Give up the Funk".

  • There is a famous song of Bootsy I like very much! But the title just doesn't come into my mind! It starts rather slowly!!!!

Can anybody help me with famous titles of him??? Thank you!!!!!

  • @Holunder37

It could be one of the following:

    1. Vanish in Our Sleep

    2. As In (I love you)

    3. Very Yes

  • i'd rather be with you?

  • Bootsy is 100% bass guitar. His grove theory is why some of you traditional (bouring) bassist/guitarist can't allow your mind to leave the bass player "box" style of musicianship. Any "out of the box bassist" can feel that he is a basist. I can allow you to say that about someone like Stewart Hamm.

  • The boys are in the groove. Bernie is jammin with Bootsy!!!!Classic!!!! The groove got cut off though!!

  • Mothership connection from Saint-Hilaire-la-Gravelle, Loir-et-Cher, France...

    Feel so good !

    Let's stay connected + + + + ++ ++ +

  • I think it's physiologically impossible to feel bad when listening to the funk. I always find myself with the biggest smile on my face when I'm chillin' out to it. It's like some sorta funky ass therapy for the ears. =D

  • @Makonu2 I totally hear that.

  • @Makonu2 God bless you:)

  • @Makonu2

    that's the weed, sir

  • That was a brilliant keyboard solo, laid back, funky, and sleazy as hell.. Nice one

  • Oh dude, I'm feelin like dancing suddenly but...that crowd, the atmosphere, all funkheads around! Now, that's groovin sh**!

  • b c is amazing. biggest groove this side of cincinnati.

  • these guys are still the shiznit after soooo many years i saw em in nola recently but their sound was messed up

  • I realy like this guitar!!! :D Star

  • you can see the space bass at his Restaurant / Club in Cincinnati,It's in a glass case.....

  • I would so steal it!

  • Bootsy is AWESOME

  • "Don't fake the funk, or your nose got ta grow". Bootsy is beautiful.

  • cooly cool. Bring the funk Bootsy. Tis' da shit.

  • funk is the shit, pledge your groovallegiance to the funk y'all hoes !

  • real getting high music courtesey of the blacks with all flaws and inspired playing that goes with it enjoy

  • there was nothin LIKE BOOTSY & GEORGE WORKIN' ON IT TOGETHER JAMMIN DOWN!!~ YA KNOW WHAT IM SAYIN'??

  • Funky. no one plays like Bernie Worrell

  • Ow! I LOVED this song back in the day! Of course, I like the studio version best, but bring it on!

  • seems audience don't have sence of funkrhythm!

  • I WANT THE REAL GIVE UP THE FUNK MAN!

  • I go to berklee college of music and he gave a lecture about music a while back, it was awesome. He's very well spoken

  • What!??! That's so awesome!

  • the KEY BOARD GRAND WIZZERD THE DR.HIMSELF

  • His voice reminds of Jimi Hendrix in a strange way when he talks!!! :-S

  • he's what jimi hendrix woulda been if he had played the bass.

  • Jimi did play the bass, he was a sick bass player. for real, his bass playing is the best I ever heard. he played bass on a few stdio songs, like All Along the Watchtower. he has a cool bass solo on the same album in the song 1983.

  • i know he did, i meant that if he had focused completely on the bass, instead of reinventing the guitar. my opinion is, though, that he played the bass like he played the guitar. nothing bad with that, only that he wasnt a "real" bass player. i know it sounds stupid.

  • I don't think it sounds stupid, its a good point. a lot of bass players just sound like lead guitarists on the wrong instrument. thats the thing about Jimi's bass playing though, you'd think he was always a bass player.

and his drumming, he also had crazy timing on that.

  • no it sorta makes sense, solo bassist never really seem like reall bassist, this sounds really dumb to butt clifff burton wasnt really a bassist in hi soloist bassist are more rythemic and groove oriented than a guitarist melody's,

  • i agree, a guitar player on the wrong instrument.

  • the bass was just brought to the forefront in funk, so it lets them have more fun with it, its not necessarily them on the wrong instrument, you can be groove oriented on a guitar, as we've seen in funk ,

  • we waaant the funk.......(someone take it away)

  • give up the funk...

  • yeahhhh me too north sea jazzz~!!!!

  • in 3 weeks im gonna see him:D:D:D

  • where

  • north sea jazz rotterdam

  • so jealous! how was ur concert???

  • just awsome. he jumped in the crowd

  • lol... i saw them on that tour in 1995..in vienna...well i thought that stuff "IS" black music... i thought these are the coolest guys ever..like from another planet... well they are ... i thought..wow..the freedom in spirit...the slightly behind the beat groove... i thought ..this is how grooves have to work...

  • Now this is when black music was GREAT!! I loved this stuff back in the day!!!

  • Now that's funk.

  • you gotta love it woohoo

  • now THIS is music!

  • why isnt this titled Bernie Worrell and Bootsy? Bernie is the King of Funk!

  • moog-a-teers never get their due

  • i want those spacey glasses XD

  • Bootsy's space bass is like an axe tuned to pure funk - it sounds so badass!

  • yeah I agree this performance is amazing, better than the recorded version

  • If you don't like this performance, then you are insane. Bernie is destroying on the synth...you have no idea what music is.

  • yeah so right man!

  • not bad i really like funk but the Red Hot Chili Peppers will always be my favourites

  • of course evrybody can have its favorits as long as u know who they got it all from. u don't think Flea is very inspired by Booty

  • Bootsy is the man. He has such a good time, doin'-what-he-do. He never forgets to pay homage to the creator of the slappin' funk bass; Larry Graham.

  • Bootsy and Bernie are superlative in the music world. FUNK!

  • Thats music... We want a FUNK!

    Bootsy ROULEZ!

  • bootsy your so kick ass

  • How can they riun a good song when they wrote it anf played it with george.....yes it is lacking george but the buety of the p is that they just funk. No two takes are the same. It is whatever they feel like doing it.....I personally prefer the 1976-79 versions with george and gary BUT fact Bootsy is amazing and so is Bernie and the rest of them....leave the funk be!

  • People are saying this sucks. NO WAY! THIS VIDEO IS SICK!

  • PFunk didn't do shit "right" the first time. I would be bitterly disappointed to hear it played exactly as it was in 1976. This is some improvised funkiness theme re-intertpretation stylized electro boogie for the euro, techno cosmo spin sector...with a seven!!

  • I havn't heard much of bootsy or about bootsy, so i was wondering why is he so famous? is it for his aweshome guitar :P?

  • He's famous by being one of the most important figures in funk.

  • he his famous because is the best

he have groove and he don't make hits///

    HE MAKE ANTHEMS ...

HE AND THE CREW MAKED THE PFUNK...

THE MUSIC THAT MOVE YOUR ASS...

    SO MANY GROOVE AND STYLE...

BETTER THAN ROCK ... BETTER THAN EVERYTHANG

    PFUNK EVER.

  • PFUNK 4EVER...true dat

  • If you haven't heard of Bootsy, you haven't heard of Phonk.

There are a two more important names you should know concerning da Phonk: George Clinton, Sly Stone.

    Keeping the Funk alive !

  • The man, the voice, the bass, the glasses, and the funk. The bass doesn't just look funny, his bass-playing is famous.

He (and his older brother) played with James Brown, so he actually took part in making the earliest funk! Later Bootsy and George were the ones who made the crazy P-funk that made all the others look and sound dull.

So he is famous enough, and for some good reasons. And "Give up the funk" is a classic in the genre.

  • bootsy effin rules. he is my favorite bassist ever. i base all my playing off his style.

  • Beautiful! Thanks for posting!

  • BootSyyYyYy !!

  • IS THAT A BASS!!!!!!???????????

  • HELL YA IT IS

  • BOOTSY RULES!

  • Givin some to Bootsy and Bernie. Good to hear sometimes. Some people only want George Clinton all up in their ass all the time.

  • Yo was wandering if that was Bernie W, cheaz for some clarification

  • Do a search for George Clinton, the 54 minute video and check out 18:30 and 26:24, the talk about Bootsy Collins and his move from working with James Brown to George Clinton and Parliament. That's where this vibe came from.

  • this is good stuff, yeah bootsy!

  • whats the original than? i like this thats the reason i ask..

  • the original is by Parliament. It had Bootsy on bass.

  • DONT UNDERSTAND - ON mtv AND TAPING IT - WHAT4S THE DIFFERENCE - Now seeing the name VIACOM makes me vomitting - They did it to Badu too - Tyrone - Love of my life

  • yes, i have seen the shrinking of videos. I was meaning to add the real msuic video of this, but i wasn't able to find it, so i used this.

  • careful youtube is on a manhunt to remove all bootsy vids, even though viacom doesn't own live conerts!! seriously anyone notice the shrinking of the vids?

  • bootsy has the most wierd looking style of playin, but it does bring out the fuck
