I have turtle beach px21's.......I warn every prospecting buyer of a turtle beach gaming headset do not!!! They have very good sound quality but they are made very shitty! They will fall apart in around 2 months of fairly regular use. Also when i opened the left ear speaker i saw that the wires were not in the protective rubber casing!
I just bought the 720 and i can say the hissing noise is annoying while im waiting in lobby but while playing i forget all about it... the only problem i have with them is that u cant control the bass... i hate that these headsets have to much in them... I recently had the TB X21 and they were beautiful the only thing is 7 months later both earpieces snapped off.. -_- so i wanted something more sturdy and i would deal with if the sound isnt completely as good as the TB... Durability Wins for me
@MultiGubber I think they can. They only need a jack for the mic and headphones and I think the mac has those. They are green and pink on PC if that helps

But I want to have the best of the best that I can get from a store and have the headset be universal to all consoles. I think I will go pay the extra 50 bucks to have the AX Pro headset. I owned a a turtle beach dss amplfier along with an ath ad 700 headset and tritton ax pros. Now I currently have the new astro mix amp with an ad700 headset and honestly there was no difference between the astro mix amp and turtle beach dss. However, sound quality wise the astros and turtle beach beat the trittons. But for sound positioning the trittons won. It doesn't mean that I can determine an enemies position with the astros but def. better with trittons. pm if you have any questions
@ragnarok906 can you determine how far an enemy is? I don't know if it was true or not but I read some where that it uses an old type of set up where it only gives you sound positioning but not how far a person is. thanks

Yes the Astro A40 MixAmp is very nice, but they do not make up for the shitty headphones. You were right about one thing though, Turtle Beaches are dead last. They don't sound too bad, however they are very cheap and the warranty is horrible. Mine broke and the most they could do is just shrug and ask me to buy another.. Tritton AX Pros are the best ones by far.
have you tried the sharkoon x-tatic 5.1? will the mic for the Tritton 720 fit in the sharkoon? sharkoon has a slightly bigger speaker for one of the speakers in the headsets.
@hugdeath929 these headsets are really nice i just got mine today and ive been playing with it for about 2hrs, when you first open the box you will notice ALOT of wires, it is hard to set up but when you do it is not that much of a hassel, the best part about these headsets is you can adjust the volume of surrounding area like the front, back, ect. i recommend buying these if you do go on amazon they have them for $159 instead of $179.
It's great. I wouldn't say it's surround sound quality but it does a real good job!
I love the bass on the AX Pro's, sounded like I was in the cinema watching a movie. It's very bassy when you have the volume adjusted. I can hear people left, right, and behind but it takes some twicking. You can't just take it out of the box, and expect to hear all around you straight away. You'll have to adjust the colors for each speaker, etc. Only downside! Is you can't really hear people...
@justintime1976 by the way the correct term for the "distortion" you talking about is "static noise" and teh light is not LCD(liquid crystal display) there is no display on them, is it? :-) but led(light emiting diods) backlight. Anyway thank you for the video and keep improving yourself.

I have ax pro's and they are fucking amazing. The audio is crystal clear and I can easily pinpoint where people have crouched, reloaded, pulled the pin on a grenade and where footsteps are coming from. Worth every single penny. I also used to have PX21's, they were good but the right ear cup stopped working after 4 months of having them.

I have the axpros (newer version) and the mic is completely flexible in every direction, and according to people on skype its the best mic theyve ever heard.
Oh and btw ref the buzz/humm/distortion sound, its not a problem with the headset but the power coming into ur gear, You need to use a power conditioner extension lead :)

I got myself a pair of AX Pros. Total shite. I don't know if I had a duff headset or if people are listening to them with... uh... Rose-tinted ears?
Muffled sound, poor bass, bad mixing, I tried so many recommended settings but the overall sound quality was just bad, I honestly preferred my TB X11s!
FYI, I have a proper 5.1 surround setup too, and prefer the X11s to that for Call of Duty, for obvious volume restrictions. :P
Sent the AX Pros back to Amazon within a day, gonna get Astros.
i got the black ops edition of the 720's and they are freaking awesome, i only hate the fact that they dont lite up like the pro version, but no biggie, ill probably build an led kit for them just to show off lolz but anyways, they are better than my brothers turtle beaches, and i think the bass is better than the pro's but the clarity isnt quite as good as the pro's probably due to the smaller drivers in the ear cup, but anyways i like the 720's as they are simpler to use and turn off

they ended up putting the ax 720 mic on the pro's so now they both have the same mic now. and the 720 have a slight bit of static when the sound is not playing.
lol this is funny. I have the mic at 6 inch from my mouth and it get my voice PERFECTLY. you have the first mic at 1.5 inch from your mouth and you worry about the mic not picking up your voice? and by the way, the flexible mic is now standard in all ax pro.
He's using the older model of the AXPRO's, the new models all have the adjustable black mics like the 720s, there's also a quick release on the new model.

i had a pair of 720's, there was a weird electrical beeping constantly in the background. Sent them back. Should i get ax 720s and hope for a pair that work or the ax pros?! Im on the ps3 btw so turtle beach is limited - had px21s and theyre not too good. Thanks

I have the axpros (newer version) and the mic is completely flexible in every direction, and according to people on skype its the best mic theyve ever heard.

Oh and btw ref the buzz/humm/distortion sound, its not a problem with the headset but the power coming into ur gear, You need to use a power conditioner extension lead :)
Tacima or monster do them, i got one for my guitar set up and home cinima, makes a large difference

I got myself a pair of AX Pros. Total shite. I don't know if I had a duff headset or if people are listening to them with... uh... Rose-tinted ears?
Muffled sound, poor bass, bad mixing, I tried so many recommended settings but the overall sound quality was just bad, I honestly preferred my TB X11s!
FYI, I have a proper 5.1 surround setup too, and prefer the X11s to that for Call of Duty, for obvious volume restrictions. :P
Sent the AX Pros back to Amazon within a day, gonna get Astros.

i got the black ops edition of the 720's and they are freaking awesome, i only hate the fact that they dont lite up like the pro version, but no biggie, ill probably build an led kit for them just to show off lolz but anyways, they are better than my brothers turtle beaches, and i think the bass is better than the pro's but the clarity isnt quite as good as the pro's probably due to the smaller drivers in the ear cup, but anyways i like the 720's as they are simpler to use and turn off

They updated the AXPros so now they come with the same mic that the 720s come with, otherwise I wouldn't even be considering the Pros.

ur the only person on youtube who says it makes a strange noise. it's probably your t.v. or your wires arn't connected properly. play with them longer. 3 days isn't enough to do a review on them. the pros are better than the 720 in many ways

they ended up putting the ax 720 mic on the pro's so now they both have the same mic now. and the 720 have a slight bit of static when the sound is not playing.

lol this is funny. I have the mic at 6 inch from my mouth and it get my voice PERFECTLY. you have the first mic at 1.5 inch from your mouth and you worry about the mic not picking up your voice? and by the way, the flexible mic is now standard in all ax pro.

You can turn off the AX Pros. You have to hold the mute button and the FRONT button at the same time.

He's using the older model of the AXPRO's, the new models all have the adjustable black mics like the 720s, there's also a quick release on the new model.
Bad review, too outdated.
