How To Give Your Cat Solid Medicine (Pill)

At first I thought *brilliant*!!!!! and it probably is, but I just tried it (with metronidazole) and after the 3rd "dose" of paste, he started salivating and foaming and trying to get all that taste out of his mouth. Not only did the meds not get in, but it was also really scary. I did this with the gravy at the bottom of a can of wet food, but I think that has as much aroma as baby food.

This is SO helpful. My cat is impossible to pill. She pretends to swallow the pill, then spits it out when I let go of her mouth. Even following the pill with water (to be sure she swallows) doesn't work. Pilling her is torture for both of us since it takes 4 or 5 attempts before she actually does swallow the pill. This video is excellent and worked like a charm. She actually looks forward to taking her medicine. Thank-you!

This is ridiculous. Open the cats mouth, stick the pill as far down their throat as possible and you are done, the cat is done and process takes seconds. Putting your cat through a ritual just freaks them out more. A+ on the video production and effort though.

You obviously haven't tried pilling a cat. Yes, can can do it your way, but chances are the cat will spit the pill out, or choke on it. Even though the method presented here takes time and effort, it seems like a humane and even rewarding way to get the job done.

that is smart by the way..but its harder when u have the drop thing and i get to open her mouth, but thanks that was a great video and beautiful cats
