@MarleyXVI I'd love to know too. Saw them in Aylesbry Civic Centre around this time (1989?) - and this song was the absolute highlight of a brillian show.
Someone tell me why there is no more music like this. My guess is the lack of patience. No one has the patience or mental tolerance to become engrossed in the experience. Kids today want to be jerked off and then shoved out the back door of the concert venue. How can we have collective transcendental experiences when everyone wants instantaneous intravenous liquid pop fun?
O_O It's not space anymore, i've shot out of the galaxy into a freakin' god-like black hole and got my soul mushed and vomited only to be reassembled in the golden path of sonic freedom

@KaossEdgar Beautiful man, you're a superb poet, describing the indescribable. Always glad to know there's others who know the intense ferocity of musical catharsis.
@emptyhighways I was really high when i wrote this just noticed now ahahahahahahahaha! Kudos! Spacemen 3 are THE description for feral musical catharsis ^_^
yeah - they're cool! I have been lucky to have seen them only once when I was at Uni - don't remember much except that it was weird...the saw spectrum in 1991 (in one of their first incarnations) ...
ha!!! yes, SM3 had that ability to really take you off somewhere deep inside...a bit like meditation without the effort! regarding sport, there is one that reigns supreme, above all else...CRICKET!
respect...i grew up in rugby with these guys...at the time we didnt really think much of them, but watching it now its fucking shocking how powerful they were live...if you had a big chunk of hash and a few beers these guys would take you somewhere special...
I've got the whole set on DVDR...was lucky enough to see these guys in a tiny club in Hull in about '89. It was a converted terrace house...they almost demolished it sonically.
Ha! Hey, I was pissed, id been reading some of the hilarious arguaments you see here that involve a)accusations of homosexuality, b)threats of imminent violence and c)slanderous comments about their mothers.
So relax...only joking.
BTW im from Rugby, was lucky enough to see these guys bombed outta my skull & paralysed by this stuff, many, many times as a teenager.
So put that in yer pipe and smoke it!!!(like we all did BITD)
I saw them live ...small club in Hull...they took the walls off the place...everybody sat down for the first half of the set or just gawped...they had a few technical problems and it all got a bit arsey but they spat out Rollercoaster and everyone went nuts. Wish to fuck I had taped it :-(
fuck me...im an old Rugby boy, we used to take the piss cos these guys were wasted, always, all the time, severly wasted...shit why didnt i pay more attention? this is fucking awesome, cheers PK and JP x
I've got this entire gig on DVD it's incredible...also had the good fortune of seeing Spacemen 3 live in a tiny club called The Adelphi in Hull in about 89 or 90...never forget it...I kinda agree with jdspare I now work at a sixth form college and see all the little emos bless them....they'd faint 3 songs in at a Spacemen 3 gig...probably allergic to loudness, drugs or flashing light ;-)...or genius
Shows how sad music is now. Farkheads these days want "sad" music and they got it. By the time I retire those fu)( wits will be in charge. Now Im sad..........
I registered an account here just to say thank you for finding this and uploading it..nice one. Spaceman3 on tinternet - never thought I'd live to see that...ace
Taking drugs to make music to take drugs to...bless 'em
I was sixteen and I heard this song on my mate michael Bourne's walkman. Changed my whole life from then on. only the live version man. "come on spacemen 3 play it again"
This is my soundtrack to Hard Boiled. The Miller and Darrow Graphic Novel. Each page took ten minutes to scan to take in the violence depicted. This was perfect to listen to with it.
YEAH!! I saw the Spacemen a few times and they were astonishing. I will always remember the very fine day that they and My Bloody Valentine played the Reading Festival - I was in heaven - two of my favourites bands! One after the other!!
I did get tickets. Couldn't you get one? I reckon they will add another day. Sign up to the My Space for the Valentines as they post on there if dates are added. I Hate those people who bought them up just to make a few quid on E-Bay when there are so many people who really love the band

For the second half of the song just press F5.
They get a nice guitar sound yeah, but they could play more than 2 notes, that'd make the track WAY less boring.
